Chico is one of our local favorites. We used to take our kids there almost every weekend during the winter. If you have kids it's one of the best things to do near Yellowstone. We'd let them splash and float while adults had adult beverages. They have the pool of course, but also a grill, a rocking bar, and a top notch restaurant. They have horseback rides, guided yellowstone tours, and bike rentals. You can even stay in a covered wagon. We start our walk by the pool, walk through the hotel to the lobby and then out to explore the grounds of the historic resort and hotel.

I could honestly listen to you read the phonebook, your voice is so soothing! I haven't been to this part of Montana, but I love the mist that hangs around the tops of the mountains out there. I'll have to add Chico to my list of places to check out next time I visit. This was such a beautiful walk!

This beats every travel channel. The travel channels go to all the places that are trending and expensive and over crowded, Henry goes to the places I want to see and you mention all the small but important things based on your experiences and opinions. I am a happy loyal subscriber

Lots of development since I was there in June 1976. The lodge thats hooked on to the pool and the stable were the only buildings otherwise lote of lawn and big trees. Lodge was very basic back then. Nothing like it is now. Very nice now.

Just finished the Chico walk. Appreciated the talking because otherwise I am walking around in unknown territory by myself. Maybe when you get old and retire, you can do one called 'walkin' 'n' 'talkin'. That place is so interesting with the Conestoga wagon rooms -- very unusual, but a beautiful place, the scenery. But I am still a flat lander-- the gimme land lotsa land under starry skies above...Yet Montana is a great place. Thanks so very much.

It's not so m the huffing and puffing, it is the idea of "don't fence me in". I grew up in the wide open spaces, although I now live in rolling hills and 4 seasons.

Hi Henry, I used to bring my kids to Chico years ago. I am the guy who lived in Bear canyon for 50 years in the house across from the parking lot. It's the one with the concrete studio building with the round window - right across the creek. In an earlier message you said that you think you remember the house, and said that you might do a video of the Bear Canyon trail up from the entrance to the ski hill. I watch all your KZfaq videos and would love it if you could visit Bear Canyon soon. Thanks Fran Noel

Hope you don’t take this wrong Henry but this seemed like I was watching a paid promotion for this place. Very odd that there was not even one other ad that appeared for a 35 minute video as well when normally there are 4 or 5 at least. Views were terrific from on high!

Oh, interesting, Steve. I kind of wish it was a paid promotion. :-) But, it is a local favorite of ours and we have a lot of family memories there. Hence the praise. It's a place with a lot of character too. We also do know the current owners, though we aren't particularly close. Just a small town where you end up knowing people. I'll check the monetization status but it shouldn't be any different as usual. I'm surprised KZfaq has been showing so many ads per video. Thanks for the info and feedback. Hope you are well. -H
