Walking in BAY RIDGE | Walking in Brooklyn NYC | HEAVY FOG - Walking 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue

We will be taking a walk on a foggy morning. The walk takes place on Friday, April 12th, 2024. The route takes us from Dyker Beach Park to 5th Avenue and 86th Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn NY. We will stop and take a look at how thick the fog is when we get under the Verrazzano Bridge. While under the bridge, the fog is so thick, you can't see both towers of the bridge.
We will then head into the streets of Bay Ridge, with a stop inside John Paul Jones Park to look at the revolutionary cannon. From there, we will continue along 4th and 5th Avenues, while taking a detour on some side streets. The walk ends at 5th Avenue in front of Pizza Wagon. (And we almost witness a moped get hit on 5th Avenue while doing a U Turn.)

So can you actually tell me what is really happening to the Bay 8th street ramp, I wasn’t following on that. So there’s a service road from the Verrazano Bridge ramp to Bay Parkway? How do you even get to the water from my house around the corner? This can be at least till the summer or September

That road coming up to the stairs will have a sidewalk and you will have to walk the sidewalk down to path. I imagine there will be a traffic light up there, since you will now have rest stop traffic exiting up there. As far as the service road, it will be that road I showed later in the walk - It will be the new road into the new rest stop, but will continue down to Bay Parkway. They are widening the lanes past Bay 8th street. They are also building the new 17th Avenue overpass which will accomodate the lane to Bay Parkway. @@StrideWarrior I saw that the other day while me and dad was walking along the water by the highway and my dad was was that question, why are they reconstructing the whole ramp. Hopefully this is more useful than the way it is now

Love the videos showing fog. They remind me of these old English movies where at the beginning it's raining hard and the sea waves are smashing against the rocks. You know something sinister is going to happen. You always do the interesting. Thanks!
