I walked around Muroran city in Hokkaido, Japan from Former Muroran Station.
Muroran is the capital city of Iburi Subprefecture and has a population of about 93,000.
Muroran has long flourished as an industrial city centered on the steel industry, but with the decline of the steel industry, its population is also decreasing.
The center of Muroran is moving from Muroran Station to East Muroran Station in the east.

Muroran is the city where my late grandfather came from. I never went there. Thank you so much for posting. ; )

It is the oldest area in Muroran, so it may not have changed much since your grandfather was there.

Sad. So much of the downtown unoccupied now. Thanks for the vid, though. Interesting to see places that ae off the beaten track.

There are many places in Japan, not only in Hokkaido, where the number of people has decreased.

@@tombowalking8743 Yeah, I heard that, overall, the pop. is decreasing. And that people are migrating to the big cities. Covid, also, might be the cause of some of this.
