I have "lived" with Sir Henry Baskerville and his namesake dog; but this is the first time I have seen where Sir ACD had created the legend. Thank you.

I love tony Robert's work. Baldrick in Blackadder was hilarious, but his work with archaeologists, especially Time Team, the unedited episodes, is stellar.❤❤❤ 🫂🫂🫂🥰🥰🥰

Me as well don't forget Maid Marian and her Merry Men! A children's show but a good one. He was brilliant as the sheriff of Nottingham and he created the whole series and all the writing. I've had the p-p-p-p-p-p-p-pancake day song stuck in my head off and on for over thirty years lol. Tony Robinson's documentaries are the absolute best though.

2:47:28 - What Tony says at 2:47:28 is offensive, but I'll give him that he says it with a bit of irony as if quoting local resenters rather than being one. Anyway, whatever your opinion on the merits of restoring Scotland's landscape to its pre-grazing state, that opinion should depend ONLY on the merits of the project itself, and should NOT depend on the geographic origins of the people undertaking it. If you oppose the project, then you should oppose it even if Stuart Adair (Habitat Ecologist being interviewed here) and other people sponsoring it are the children of locals. If you favor the project, then you should favor it even if the people doing it come from Mongolia, or if they're a bunch of California Marin County hippies or (2:47:28) a "Southern hippie who's come here telling Scots people what to do, though, are you?". Whether or not you have a right to tell Scots people what to depends ONLY on whether what you're telling them to do is right or wrong. Whether or not you yourself are Scots has no bearing on it. Tony did not live through the 1960s when a bunch of "Northern Agitators" in the United States told the SOUTH to stop doing ev'il things like segregating schools and denying votes to black people. Presumably Tony would have echoed the sentiment that no Northern Agitator had the right to tell a Southerner to stop doing wrong, and that only a Southerner would have that right. I will not stand for that. Right and wrong are absolutes the world over, having no dependence on "local" relativity or point of view.

Wikipedia: There are also surviving gold coins from Offa's reign. One is a copy of an Abbasid dinar struck in 774 by Caliph Al-Mansur, with "Offa Rex" centred on the reverse. It is clear that the moneyer had no understanding of Arabic as the Arabic text contains many errors. The coin may have been produced to trade with Islamic Spain; or it may be part of the annual payment of 365 mancuses that Offa promised to Rome. There are other Western copies of Abbasid dinars of the period, but it is not known whether they are English or Frankish.

🔔 W-T-F? 4:33 Almost TWO MINUTES STRAIGHT of that 'music'? AND so loud as to be in the FOREGROUND as much as in the background? Is this a neutral piece or are we promoting a specific religious view now?

I'm just glad I get to see this for free. History Hit doesn't produce anything. They're just rebroadcasting British history shows from the early 2000s - probably for free or a small licencing fee. Brit tv has always been more interested in substance than production. It was usually the sound quality that was the worst. I would still watch any of those shows again in a heartbeat! The Young Ones + Black Adder + Fawlty Towers + Absolutely Fabulous + Red Dwarf So many!
