I stayed at the Rembrandt Hotel (Sukumvit-18) on my last visit to Bangkok last January..Nice Hotel and good locality also.

So many sports bar in sukhumvit. My kind of place.

Cool ....stayed @Rembrant a number of years ago as you say nice quiet location.

Thai food with tomato ketchup yummy.

Went to look at a condo there in soi 18, pretty nice and really expensive! 40+million baht ten years ago. Apart from the Mexican restaurant, there is a really nice Indian restaurant, Rang Mahal, in the Rembrandt Hotel. Possibly one of the best Indian places in Bangkok.

Thanks Jeroen for this walking tour. This brings back lots of memories. I grew up in Soi 18 and walked this same route for countless of times. Soi 18 was just a small quiet road with very few business and restaurants 30-40 years ago. It's really amazing to see how many things have changed. Only few older houses are recognizable. Thankfully many large leafy trees are still there.

my wife and I stayed down the street from the corner at 1:33; the Ayothaya Massage and Laundry (looks like it closed and moved since Jan 2019) and across the street was Yardpet, aother massage spot. WIfe and I had very nice massages there when we stayed.

I used to walk a lot in Soi 18/20/22 and it’s great to see your footage!! Seems very quiet right now. Keep it up 👍🏻

I stayed on Soi 18 many times. A few years ago the removed the vendors that were on the sidewalk beside the Lexus dealership, including an Issan cart that was famous. It was an older woman that made the most amazing pork neck and chicken. I miss it so much.

Wellcome to Sukhumvit Soi. Waiting for the local people and tourism to come there.

Very nice. If you could make the camera stay a bit longer on the names on the establishments along the street, that will be even better. Right now the focus is always on the middle of the road. I think people are more interested to see what's along the street.

Interesting video, when we stay in Bangkok now I tend to stay soi 33 or soi35 is it? Near promh pong I think. Near Robin hood bar on the corner, is it still open I wonder? Another bar is down that street too, royal oak I think they call it. Once met this Indian guy in Robin hood bar, he liked watching his cricket, vin his name was I think, great guy,knew his cricket well. Many great nights in bkk. Can't wait to return....but I'm patient so will see... bri and frei east Yorkshire.

being US educated, I thought the german place was "by auto", but after some google search it's actually "bei otto"; and "harmon harmon" was actualy "taberna jamon jamon". definitely need to do the research before planning to go t these places.... and that's what I like about bangkok, just within a few blocks, you can find food experiences from almost all over the world...
