My heart melted when Beckham gave Hunter a kiss. I appreciate you explaining Beckham’s struggles with foods, such as textures, colors, etc. It is very informative. But, he is such a little trooper and works hard to achieve his goals. He does so good in his gait trainer; I’m sure he is building up his strength using it. You two are so funny; you are in snow country, but wearing clothes like you are at the beach. You must have a well insulated house! I would enjoy hearing more about your eating habits and any meal suggestions. Tell Miss Blakely that we missed her today, but we understand that a girl needs to get her beauty sleep! ❤️

Hi Rachel, I do remember that he would cry when you put him in his walk trainer. Also Beckham ate more texture food then ever before. I'm so proud of Beckham. I'm always praying for our Beckham. Oh my, it breaks my heart to see Beckham struggle to eat. I would give anything in the world so that he didn’t have to struggle when eating but I know he is tough and will overcome it with the help of Mom, Dad, and sister Blakely. I just want to say that I think y'all are doing great with introducing new foods and textures with Beckham. Even with kids who don't have food aversions, you aren't supposed to force them to eat new foods. And I've read that it can take upwards of 100 introductions before some kids will accept a new food. So you are absolutely doing the right thing by taking it slow. And don't get discouraged if it does take a long time, that is perfectly normal.

My son was a troublesome feeder and the way we overcame it was by letting him lead us through food play. Whilst he was hungry we would give him a plate of soft finger foods to play with for at least ten minutes. Once he had ‘played’ we then would either let him finish his finger foods or feed him his familiar foods. He was three before we got him eating a wide variety of foods. Karl started with fruits, specifically banana spears, mango sticks and slices of strawberries. Then he moved onto papaya, watermelon sticks and peeled grapes with pips removed. Don’t be pushed to rush him. He can take multivitamin syrup, and develop at his own pace. He will get there, as an adult my son still has food sensitivity issues but he eats a wide variety of foods, is a chef and likes fine dining. Hang in there

Watching Beckham's journey to walk, reminds me so much of my own. My mom told me stories of my early years in PT, when I would scream and cry when my feet were placed on the floor. For parents as you know so well, watching your child suffer never gets easier, but the support you provide Beckham, will no doubt help him in the long run!

I have mild CP and had issues with different food texture and I love how you don't push him past what he is willing to take, when I was raised, doctors where telling my parents I was just picky and looking for attention so often my limit wasn't respected and it created a not so great relashionship with certain food. I found a great feeding psychologist that really help and let me take it at my own pace. I made so much progress with her and now I can try new food really easily . I'm sure that Beckham will keep making progress with food.

It amazes me the types of aid equipment that is available for these precious children who need such help. Enjoy seeing how Becham keeps getting stronger while using them. He is more precious than gold and so innocent, I just love him!

Beckham is just the sweetest boy ever, hes come so far now and everytime you post a vid hes getting stronger :) x

Hunter I love watching your relationship with Beckham. I'm so happy to see him have a few bites of something new. Love how dad takes Beckham's mind off what he's feeling. I'm rewatching cause cant help it. Love this video. Wanted to say that I'm an adult with no major disabilities and I have aversions to food. Like my food cant touch on the plate. Textures r big too. I hate new things and its rough cause I eat same thing always and then I cant anymore cause I get sick of it and it starts to make me gag. I hate it so much. Just want u to know that I'm so with beckham on this lol. I know it's best for him and I wish they would have known this stuff about me when I was small instead of just letting me do whatever and not trying with me. Not good childhood. So I really get u guys doing this with him. I just feel for him because as an adult I'm still like this. S ok dont worry little Beckham I'm on tour side here about food. New textures are icky. I have faith though that with parents like u guys he will be just fine. Even if its baby food forever then atleast u guys did your best to add more food in. As a parent I can see it feeling defeating and being rough on u at moments and that's quite ok to feel like that. If u didnt then u wouldnt be as great as u r with him. As long as u r doing what u think is best for him then that's all that matters. From the outside we see u do your best.

Hi Rachel, new subscriber here 😃 I really wish I could like this video more than once, because I like it for so many reasons! First, I think you and Hunter make wonderful parents and Beckham's story is definitely one to be shared, he's fighting everyday and he's gone so far already in so little time that it's amazing to watch. So inspirational and heartwarming. Second, I'm training to become a feeding therapist and I appreciate A LOT how you feed Beckham, respecting his pace but also pushing him a little for his own sake 😊 For my understanding, he now pauses after just one spoonful because he's temporarily overwhelmed with the new sensations he feels in his mouth that the unusual texture provides. I mean, it's such a new thing for him to manage that it'll take a little while to adjust but I truly believe you're on the right track 😎 I'd also like to suggest that you discussed with your feeding therapist about other ways to stimulate the mouth area (other than new foods, of course). It could be beneficial, I see it a lot in my training, so I wanted to point it out for you! Anyways, I feel everyone (Beckham, family, doctors and therapists) is already doing a great job 🤩 The walking progress really stands out, but the feeding progress and new approach meant very much to me, so I'm very glad you included these as well in the video. Finally, I'd gladly watch a "what I eat in a day" video as well 😋 Have a great day!

Oh my gosh. Rachel hes literally walking. I just almost cried seeing him do so good. U must be the most proud mama ever. Oh my friend has a severely disabled daughter who is now 16. Sweet girl cant walk talk or anything. She needs 24/7 care for life. Point being that when she was Beckhams age they disnt have some of the things that they have now to help disabled children. So I'm so happy for u guys that u have the gate trainer to help and other things too. Oh HI HUNTER!!! I havent forgot u. Lol. Oh and BLAKELY TOO..... HI SWEET ANGEL. I LOVE U JUST AS MUCH AS BECKHAM. I cried seeing the hard effort Beckham is trying to walk. Hunter and you are fabulous with him. Maybe Beckham would be better grabbing a soft object like a squeaky ball instead of hard rings. He would feel rewarded and motivated more.

He will learn how to walk sooner or later my sister has a special baby too he was born weighting only 1 pound 1/2 and he’s 9 years old now and he just good his second surgery of his g - tube and she never gave up giving him new food and eventually he eats a lot know just keep being patient with him it hasn’t been easy but the good think is that they are alive and learning everyday something new 😍

He’s getting so good I’m his feet! He wasn’t able to put himself up and jump around only a few months ago! Amazing go Beckham!🧡 Also I sent you a private message on Instagram a few weeks ago, I recommend watching it, I can see Beckham in 10 years time!🥰
