If you are wanting to go for a walk after eating to lower your glucose levels, but its too cold, dark, or dangerous out join me for an indoor walk! Indoor walking is amazing because you can do it from the comfort of your own home for incredible fitness benefits.
Going for a walk after a meal can help reduce blood sugar levels, even if it’s just for a few short minutes. When you eat a meal-particularly one heavy in carbohydrates-it’s normal for your blood sugar levels, or the amount of glucose in your blood, to sometimes spike temporarily. This spike in blood sugar typically triggers the release of a hormone called insulin, which allows the glucose to leave your bloodstream and enter your cells, where it’s used for energy. If the body consistently has very high spikes in blood sugar and is routinely pumping out more insulin, cells can eventually stop responding to insulin and become insulin resistant. This break in the balance can lead to prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. But new research shows that taking a quick walk after meals can help lower blood sugar levels, and potentially reduce the chances of developing cardiovascular disease or diabetes.
In this video I am using a Nutrisense CGM to monitor my blood glucose levels before, during and after my indoor walk. Nutrisense is bringing continuous glucose monitors (aka CGM’s) to the masses. Using a CGM was actually what inspired me to create a healthy habit of moving for a few minutes after meals because I can directly see the impact movement has on my Nutrisense charts. 1451 steps….. I LOVE this 10 min walk I have done it every evening before bed since I found it 4 weeks ago , helps me sleep better. I recently started using it as a wam up for my daily workout. Sometimes I am just not in the mood but I start walking to my favorite songs, once the walk is over I’m ready for boxing. ❤

I’m 50 pounds overweight. Recently I had my gallbladder removed. In preparation for the surgery I did a month of very low fat(almost no fat ) diet and did this walk after meals at least once a day. I lost a lot more weight than what I have lost in a month in the past. I give credit to the walking after meal for this great positive difference! Now that I’ve recovered from the surgery I am very excited to continue these walks and eat a better diet. Health is so important! I’m 63 and hope I had done this a long time ago. But better late than never! Thank you again Caroline!

I was detected diabetic when I was 35 years age, due to staying in stressed mental state all my waking time. Depression also made me remain unmotivated to take care of my body. Thanks for this easy walking workout which I just finished. I will do this after every meal now on. Thanks

Thank you so much for your 10 minute videos. I really needed to start working out because of my moderate high blood pressure and sedentary habits. My mom is 75 and diabetic since last 15-16 years. Her sugar before this workout of 199. Random blood sugar. And after the workout which came to 152. Great exercise. I suggested her to do your excerice everday. Would be really nice if you can show some more other 'sitting in chair' exercises for senior Diabetic adults of her age. Thank you very much. Hello from my tour in France. I’m a Patreon member who is so grateful for your videos that help me stay motivated at home and when I’m being a road warrior for work. But this time while I’m averaging 6-8 miles and 18 flights of steps daily , your workouts are in the hotel rooms with me to help me settle down for the night, following a day of fun walks, amazing food, cobblestone hills and stairs. I love this workout and have been doing this for sometime now. I got my mum (70yrs) and my brother in law to work out with me this afternoon. They loved it. Looking at us my 2 year old son joined us. This helps me Caroline. I need after-eating exercises because I eat late due to life and work and tend to sit right down. This gives me some simple brief activity. I'm already tired but this doesn't take too much yet it helps.

Ate breakfast did the walk and checked my blood sugar and it was 97 I’m a type 2 diabetic and I ate eggs and walnuts. Thanks for the video the walked really helped will do after every meal!

I've been feeling depressed and having a hard time doing easy tasks such as moving and cooking healthy food. Recently I made a list of things that require minimum effort to do in the mornings in order to not spiral into depression and anxiety after waking up, such as drinking a glass of water, sitting down in a sunny spot, etc. I've been meaning to incorporate movement on my list for a while now, but it is hard for me because I feel tired, then just give up on doing it every day, and suddenly I don't do any movement at all. I tried your video today and your positive talk made me feel better about moving my body and not pressured to do x amount of time or high-intensity exercises. So thank you so much! Your kindness has motivated me and I'll be doing more of your light movement exercises.

The closer you get to God and learn about his ways, the less depression you will have. Find a bible study group. So that you can get some support. God Bless!!

Thank you so much 😊. I watched this whole entire video on my 18 minute walk on my lunch break. I just wish I had a walking 🚶‍♀️ buddy since I’m so lonely and all my friends are in different parts of the country now.

I exercise regularly...treadmill & yoga mostly...but after a big meal & feeling stuffed, I searched for an "after dinner workout" just for grins lol & was pleasantly surprised your video came up ...I mean I could've hopped on the treadmill but your video could be done shoeless lol....I couldn't believe how much better I felt in a short 10m 😮 I'm now subscribed ❤❤
