This is another video in my series “Walks in Hampshire” accompanied by my Whippet (Logan). In this episode I am at Hambledon - a pretty village located about 12 miles North of Portsmouth.
My 3 mile circular walk starts & finishes in the village and takes me up Speltham Down, across open fields, through beautiful woodland and back through Litheys Hanger. Highlights include Madams Copse (well known for wild flowers - especially in the Spring) as well as some stunning countryside views.
After the walk, I drive 2 miles East of the village to the Bat & Ball pub and the Broadhalfpenny Brigands cricket pitch. The pitch is known as “The Cradle of Cricket” & I get the opportunity of recounting the history of the Hambledon Cricket Club - who used to play there.
The weather was perfect with sunshine & a light breeze on a glorious Spring day.
