From a Volunteer Fire Chief here in America, I find your videos very interesting! Just the way your entire system is setup leaves me in awe, The fact you have vehicles who bring new breathing air, harnesses, masks and even new bunker gear for fires is crazy. Where I am from in Kansas we could only dream of having such things! Clearly your Fire System is much more well though out then that of ours, and it is very impressive! Also the fact you guys have a full crew on almost every call is impressive, I am lucky to have 1-2 people show up, and 3-4 on my next due mutual aid company. Keep up the great work gentlemen!

In Poland we have states and then counties and counties form into several communities :) We have 1 professional (JRG) (mostly in smaller cities) per country and then mostly 1 OSP (volunteer) per community Example from where I live 1 county (size about 25kmx30km) with about 16 communities.. we have 15 volunteer buildings all are equipped with a fire truck with (pumps/2000l of water/"jaws of life" and pneumatics) allso breathing aparatus etc :)

However, I would like to add and defend your American system aswell, as it is based on water delivery for bigger municipalities and rural areas. Case and point is that our fire engines only have a certain amount of water before a hook-up to a main supply or water tanker is required, and our fire hydrant distribution is quite good, even in areas like the Veluwe (where I live), the woods are almost all designed with pathways and water pickup points in mind in case of wildfires. We also mostly work with high pressure water (HD, Hoge Druk) to blast through a fire, not only cooling it but also spreading the fuel to knock it down. Although I'm not the most experienced, I have been told that high pressure water can save a ton in certain situations. Some structure fires I've seen in the US would be considered major fires here in The Netherlands, where quite a bit more is rolled out to the scene. What I think is the best about our emergency personnel is the integration and willingness to learn from each and every little mistake. The IFV (NIPV) is a government body / Institute that tries to objectively look at more strategic approaches in small and major incidents. The Fireworks incident in Enschede (a long time ago) was one of the leading factors to start working with a structured system called GRIP (Coördinated Regional Incident Procedure) which has 5 stages + a (inter)national state of emergency. These are scaled up or down depending on how much command and structure is required at a scene. (Major structure fires, or even small but hard to reach incidents may get a GRIP status sooner, and this entails higher command and industry experts being involved sooner) So really in my opinion its not just Fire, but its the entire emergency control that has been quite well thought out, but this does not necessarily mean the US system is less capable/ broken. However, if there is one thing... Although I love the American fire engines, man are they dated in their approach of setup, and WHY OH WHY are there still separate Fire and Ladder companies? Both should know both systems so everyone can help out in my opinion 😉

Little bit of history for the english watchers about the "Muur van Mussert" (Wall of Mussert) (Not written by me, just combined and translated it) In the mid-1930s, the leaders of the National Socialist Movement (NSB) had a so-called National Home built on the Goudsberg in the Veluwe village of Lunteren. The most famous part of this complex became Mussert's Wall. (Named after the leader of the NSB party, Anton Mussert) The National Socialists bought a piece of moorland in Lunteren from a wealthy party member. In the early days, the National Home to be built here included several buildings where meetings could be held. Central structure was Mussert's Wall, which in the years between 1936 and 1940 was used for infamous Hagespraken of the NSB. These were usually held on Whit Monday. During these annual party meetings - intended to strengthen party unity - NSB members were addressed by leaders such as Anton Mussert and Cornelis van Geelkerken. The choice of Lunteren was probably not entirely coincidental. In addition to the fact that Lunteren was centrally located, justice was administered at the Goudsberg in the Middle Ages and before that, according to various sources, the place was already serving as a Germanic cult site. The area around the masonry wall, which included a pulpit, was set up as a kind of open-air theater for mass gatherings, with ample space for flag display and music. The NSB was clearly inspired by the Reich Party days of Adolf Hitler's NSDAP. A total of six Hage rallies were held: Monday, June 1, 1936 Monday, May 17, 1937 Saturday, October 9, 1937 Monday, June 6, 1938 Monday, May 29, 1939 Saturday, June 22, 1940 The last NSB landday took place on June 22, 1940, more than a month after the German invasion. Politically-tinged mass meetings were banned. Today, the grounds of the National Home are used as a campground. Of the original buildings, only the Mussert Wall remains. In Lunteren many years ago there was much debate about whether the wall should be designated as a monument. Besides those in favor, there were also those who felt it would be better to tear down the wall. The Center for Information and Documentation on Israel (CIDI) feared that the Mussert Wall would become a pilgrimage site for supporters of the extreme right. Eventually there was so much opposition to the municipality's intention to designate the wall as a monument (and restore the structure) that the plans were called off. Since 2018 they decided, after advice from the National Cultural Heritage Agency, that the wall will permanently become a national monument after all. Minister Ingrid van Engelshoven stated: "It is a remnant of an era through which the story of the war years can be told to future generations." As a national monument, the Mussert Wall has protected status, which means very strict rules now apply to demolition.

@@BeaBosse Soweit ich weiß, war es ursprünglich auf dem Gelände des Campingplatzes, also eigentlich im Besitz des Campingplatzes. Aber sie konnten nicht viel damit anfangen, weil es aufgrund der historischen Lage viele Kontroversen und Debatten zwischen Gegnern und Befürwortern gab. Im Jahr 2017 reichte der Eigentümer (der Druck ausüben und Klarheit schaffen wollte) schließlich einen Antrag bei der Gemeinde ein, um den Abriss des Gebäudes zu genehmigen (da er auch eine Revitalisierung anstrebte). Met een grote calamiteit zou het waarschijnlijk sneller gaan. Zonder sirene en ander kabaal om omwonenden te wekken is het 's nachts erg moeilijk om je op prive terrein te orienteren.

You mean the blue and the red? Blue means "stage" which translates to intern Red means "bevelvoerder" that means the squadron leader. And sometimes even the incident leader, if the "officier van dienst" basically the fire chief, is not on site.

To add to the comments above, the IFV (institute for physical safety) now named NIPV has a guide to the way firemen (and women) are clothed. The shoulderpatches are removable, and show all emergency personell on scene what role they have. Red patch generally always means, as mentioned by Barry and Calixto the squadron leader, however if the squadron leader is a trainee, his/her patch will be blue instead Blue is also used for roles like Logistics, Voorlichting (Press information) and Plotting Orange and Yellow determine the higher ranking roles of Officer and Chief officer, those will arrive at the scene when multiple fire engines (each with their own squadron leader) are on scene, to maintain a leading structure. Another patch you might sometimes come across is the Green patch, which determine special roles like Safety officers, Advisor dangerous chemicals or Regional Officer Dangerous Chemicals I am sure there are plenty more special circumstances I have not mentioned here, but in essence they allow for quick recognition of roles and capabilities of personell on scene. The GRIP structure might be a very interesting read for you if you havent already seen some of that 😉

Hoe bepalen jullie wie er rijdt, en wie Bevelvoerder is? En wie welk nummer heeft. Je hoort 1 en 2 omhangen, maar is dat iedere melding hetzelfde of wordt dat bepaald met aankomst op kazerne ofzo?

Voor bepaalde functies heb je een training behaald, na het behalen kan je zo snel mogelijk je stoeltje proberen te bemachtigen bij aankomst. Als de deur open staat weet je dat je kan gaan zitten, zit de deur dicht dan kan je als bestuurder of bevelvoerder achterin zitten. Wanneer daar 6 man zit roepen ze achterin vol en kan het voertuig vertrekken. De aankomende manschappen zullen in het busje naar de melding rijden of weer huiswaarts keren.

For starters, not every safety region has a drone team, and even then it would take time to get the team on site. Drones, because of the costs involved, are actually only used with large complex fires to provide a "birds eye view" of hot spots which can't be seen from the ground. This overvieuw can also been provided by a polile helicopter which is in the nearby. In this partical case "we see smoking coming out of a massive concrete structure" there's no need for a load of resources.

Ik meen wel aan beide kanten een flitslampje gezien te hebben. Niet hetzelfde en onvoldoende licht volgens mij maar misschien zien we het gewoon moeilijker omdat de camera 't moeilijk oppikt.
