I like the longer format. Spending time with you too is like spending time with family. I'm not a Sawyer. I had relatives that owned a sawmill when I was a little girl....a loooonnnngggg time ago. All I was allowed to do was pick up slabs and bring them to the stack. Someone else would put the slab on the stack. Thank you for all the different kinds of videos you film, edit, and share with us. One last thing..... DANG if that catfish doesn't look delicious. You can keep the bass.... Catfish is my favorite with bluegill and crappie coming in 2nd and 3rd. I mounted a 12 volt winch above my LT 15 to turn the larger logs. I forged a hook like a big fish hook that I use with a chain. I use a 12 volt deep cycle battery that I keep charged with a solar charger. The winch has a remote control, that lets me stand clear of the log. It works real good. Have a Great Evening!

I too am operating an LT15 wide. I turn the big logs with a Hi-Lift jack. Slight learning curve but works great. Also use it to raise the small end of the log, then block it, so the pith is parallel to the frame. Thanks for the great videos too!

I've got a homemade sawmill and I have to improvise quite a bit with turning logs by myself so having a tractor with forks on it is essential for me and anyone who has a sawmill in my opinion. Enjoyed the video

@@wallacefarmandsawmill I grew up around timber, but I still really enjoy watching folks from all over this beautiful country working with timber as well as running mills. Here in Oregon, we now run a lot of small logs.

before i built my lifting hooks from 2 78" log rite mega hook cant hook, i used 2 1000# ratchet straps, with the ratchet head at my pallet fork frame, and wrapped the strap and hook around the log, depending which direction i needed to roll it and used my kubota 7060 and lifted like you did. i was able to roll red oak and some walnut in the 38" diameter range with little effort. since most of the logs im milling are much to heavy for my 7060 to lift, i use a M936A2 wrecker to lift and load the loads. the last hardwood log i milled weighed in around 5000 lbs and the rotator on the wrecker made loading and turning the log a breeze, using the modified cant hook hooks. as for clamping big diameter logs, i do the same thing you did and use that toeboard wedge till the clamps will fit and work

@@wallacefarmandsawmill its a sore operation. even with equipment, a freshly repaired lower back, its still a back breaker. next yr my wide will be half paid off and i WILL put my deposit down for a 40 wide and sell my 15w and dump the sale cash into the price of the 40w. hopefully then, it will be good. plus i should have my wide cut (82" between guides) band mill built for those a little to big for the 40 wide.

ok you cut the 2x4s for the pallets HOW ABOUT THE OTHER WOOD DO YOU CUT THAT ASWELL OR NOT THERES MORE TO PALLET THEN 2X4S AND HOW MUCH THE WOOD COSTFOR ALL THE WOOD

hi there well done , question why not turn it 180 and have the flat down , it would be more balanced , . it would also save from sawing the bark 1 time , good show john

You would have thought they'd have provided bigger clamps and stops. Good job handling it. Do they offer a de-barker for this mill, from the looks of the slabs, there is a lot of bark coming in the kerf, which the debarker would probably stop--and save on blade wear too!

Could you rig another winch like you use on the circle mill but use a snatch block over the top of it and mount the winch on the back side of the shed?

A nice product that I have made out of a pine log like that are 3 inch thick 24 inch wide workbench tops. Where did you get your log hook that works with a chain? Thank you.

Man I saw pine logs all the time that or that big and bigger there not but a few million of them down here in South Alabama . long leaf yellow pine I keep my logs in the pond for a year before I cut them my log truner I a trackho

We don’t have many in the 30’s up this way! Big mills wiped them out early 2000’s.

They did down here too but there's a lot of private land that is still like it was when they came in here to run my kind fokes out of here and make them go to Oklahoma but some hung on too there land . so you have a lot of hundred acre tracks all over they just wanted the dry land to grow cotton and tobco.then the paper Mills came with the loblolly pine and so on but I love to work in woods that have not been cut over by logers like cotton top I cut my timber as I want to me and a saw and a mule one tree at atime the same way it was done in the 30s God Bless Y'all and if I was younger I would be making videos too but I do things my way and UT would not like it and I'm to old to change..but I would like to see old cotton top Whit all that safety stuff out in a pond full of be Gators cutting 200 year old Cyprus trees down it's not for the safety people just got to getter done

since your chain is so long why dont you place your hook all the way around the log is flat so you you dont have to re hook and chance it coming loose. Bye the way check the air pressure in your tires

I do not mean to bad-mouth your work, a little constructive criticism, get some personal microphones. Your audio will be vastly improved. I do a lot of volunteer videography for my community and audio is more important than good video, I think.
