Wallachia: Reign of Dracula (Castlevania-like) All Bosses (No Damage, Hard, No Upgrades). Played by Arek The Dragon. It is a retro-styled action platformer game made by Migami Games (developer of Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles) in 2020.

A nice run'n'gun from creators of Castlevania: Lecarde Chronicles. A bit on the easy side mostly but still can present some problems on hard difficulty setting. No serious additional challenges for this boss run besides using only default arrows, not picking up upgrades (increase damage of arrows and sword) and not using charge attack. I really recommend you to play this game: it is really fun and will not take days to complete.

This is one of the few depictions of Dracula with heavy dragon and overlord motifs instead of the classic vampire.

It's based on the historical Vlad mixed with a few fantasy elements - Elcin of course and her mentor Christian is the legendary esoterist Rosenkreuz; Yvonne the "succubus" is original too but based on the mystery surrounding Vlad's elusive first wife. Even her and the second phase of Vlad's fight are not sudden magic but hallucinations.

I like that some of the bosses are really creative but not otherworldly stuff, like the trap tower, the wardragon and Dracula's first phase when he has his court attack you. Though, I cackled when I saw that beary uncalled for boss fight.

Just by looking at the protagonist I got deep Castlevania: Legends's vibes. Despite not being blonde, she reminds me of Sonia Belmont. The gameplay looks fine, nothing marvelous, but works for this purpose. Same case with the story. But I would put emphasis on the OST. Very enjoyable.

Yeah, I got that that too. A lot of Mig's projects aren't really polished, but they are really solid most of time. Like the dude has a clear direction of he what he wants in a game. And I agree, the soundtrack sells this.

This takes place in the year 1462, the year of Sultan Mehmed II's invasion of Wallachia. Sonia joins forces with Radu, Vlad's brother (who pledged allegiance to Sultan Mehmed when Vlad and Radu were ransomed by their father Vlad II to Sultan Murad when they were boys). This was also around the time when Vlad had fled to Hungary after losing Targovişte to Ottoman forces, but not before leaving his most infamous and gruesome surprise for them.

Robert Belgrade has been doing the rounds last few years on indie Castlevania inspired projects: LeCarde Chronicles 2, Bloodstained RotN, and this. I wonder how he feels doing all this fanservice work.

As a Wallachian, I like that this gameit has some Wallachian names (Diavol = Devil, Dragomir) and also there are many bears living in our mountains, so that a bear boss is very suitable.

Soma Cruz Very interesting. Wallachia is actually Southern Romania. - Most of Wallachia looks like Eastern Europe (Russia). But, in the Carpatian mountains it looks more Castlevania-like -People speak Romanian, a language similar to Italian, Spanish. They are very warm people. -Christianity still plays an important part on our lives. We are not Catholic, but Orthodox (like Greece, Russia)

When you put voices in a old school like metroidvania you created a hole new living world .characters will be more memorable and game will do its effect more than usual. Also video was very good 👍

Well this is the REAL Drácula or Drakul in Rumanía and the Fight is clear referense to his name,it means "son of dragón" he "transform" in a dragón for fight with you, not like monster of Castlevania.

I'm pretty sure it counts as defeated if he has to run. I agree though. They could've done what so many classic games had done and have them blow up but reappear in the sequel anyway. That or humiliate him ^^

The game's story follows historical events. For example the level where you defend your allies' camp from a nocturnal assault of Vlad's troops is set on the date it effectively happened. Same for the last level, set in a castle Vlad was and fled from. Afterwards he went to Hungary for several years and finally to Transylvania for his last reign. The exact place and circumstances of his death are unknown, which furthered his legend. Pretty perfect set-up for a sequel.

@@kelp7060 The humiliation idea is bad. Anything taken serious becomes spiteful and petty when the respectful does it. The villian in most ways become that way from the humiliation. And the hero is shown to be more of an evil character themselves. It is an extreme character trait that either shows wisdom or foolishness to the most honest expression of a character. It would have made me hate the character in their entirety.

The brother wasn't a vampire, "merely" brainwashed and conditioned until he became a cruel man with no more love for the only family he had left. Much worse than just turned into a monster with a bite.

@@scmjjmods1385 There are NO fantasy elements in this game as it is a deliberate choice of the developers who announced it at the start of the project. When Yvonne transforms into a succubus or the stone dragon's head seems to come to life, it is because of the greenish gaseous fumes that hallucinate Elcin. Vlad uses incendiary grenades, and the Diavol horsemen simply wear masks (that fall off when they die).

I would say this game has more in common with Revenge of Shinobi or Shinobi 3 than Castlevania tbh (although you can see the Rondo of Blood similarities). And look at all those Bram Stoker's Dracula cameos and references. I don't get the choice of having bears as bosses, though lol.

Of his old games, Lost Valley was the best and most ambitious. Despite some buggy parts and some places with a lot of XP grinding it's aged decently. After 2006 Mig remained inactive for some years and then started working on his newest Castlevania fangames, follower by Wallachia.
