Your description of Losing My Religion is EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be. We Christians are not in a box, bound by man made rules and doctrines. We always need to go back to WHO Jesus was, and what He came here to do.

I think your overthinking it to be honest. Christian artists shouldn’t be put in a box I think it’s amazing and a blessing that her music is on the charts. Maybe it will inspire some secular artists. God can bless someone with success but it’s our choice as to what we do with it. I do think she needs to be careful but It seems like her heart is in the right place. If her music is being played in a sports bar and someone in that bar gets inspired and turns their life to God than she did what she was called to do as a Christian. God can use success to bring people to him. I’m pretty sure God has her covered all we can do is pray for her❤️

Lauren speaks wisdom about the need for rest. In today's chaotic pace, we need time out, especially time with Jesus.
@oimate42015 жыл бұрын
Scripture says to take a day of rest each week on the seventh day of the week. This is the fourth commandment. Also, that the sabbath (the seventh day in the week as a day of rest unto God) is a mark between God and his people. Scripture also says we are to do this forever. The year of rest she mentions is pertaining to agriculture - which is to take place during the seventh year and not the eighth year. Just as the weekly sabbath takes place on the seventh day of the week, and not the “eighth” (or first) day of the week. This is a pattern set by Creator within the creation account found at the Beginning of the first book of the Bible. This musician sound a bit mixed up..

Thank you Lauren for the song "Losing My Religion"! It is so important that we focus on the relationship aspect of being a Christian and live with love out loud. So often, people lose sight and self-judge or judge others (which is ok as we are only human afterall), when Jesus was all about focusing on people, rather than just rules and choosing to look through the eyes of kindness in every situation. Perhaps some of you are misinterpreting what Lauren is saying. Find your child like self means we find joy. As we grow and physically and mentally mature as human. We (as humans) are prone to stress over big things. As children, life is joy. Like Lauren says, she ate ice cream and climbed trees. Children are meant to enjoy life, but as we grow, we tend to stress over things, we worry. God wants us to give our problems to him, not to stress, not sleep, and practically pull our hair out. We need to connect with him through that, find that child like joy while still being mature in our faith.

Isn't that exactly why we should keep the Sabbath day holy. To rest from worldly things and focus on the Lord, read the scriptures, go to church,etc and to set that day apart from the rest of the days in the week. I love attending church on Sundays it restores peace in my life. If nothing else goes right during my week I know I am in the right place at the right time when I am in church on Sundays.

With Jesus’ atonement, we no longer are required to keep the Law as a means for our justification. The requirements of the Law were fulfilled in Christ. We now have rest from the Law. We now have "Sabbath," continually. Within the New Testament is ample evidence that the seventh day Sabbath is no longer a requirement. "One man regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Let each man be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God," (Rom. 14:5-6).

We built trails, and set up traps for Intruders. We dug holes that were covered with a net and leaves to hide them on the trails. 😂 Also I had a grappling hook strung it to a rope and flung it in trees to catch a branch, then climb trees. My child like faith was always supplied by God, (the traps were shallow and none else beside me and Nathan would walk these trails!)
