Never get your ears pierced at Walmart. Ever. They do no train their associates on placement/after care/or the metals of the earrings that they use. I do work at Claire's and we are properly trained on how to do ear piercings with the guns. We sterilize the guns after each piercing and the earrings are prepackaged and already sterilized. I can't even tell you how many incidents I have had with people that have gone to Walmart to get their ears done and have come into my store with crooked holes or they developed keloids in their ears because the associate from Walmart did not properly go over after care instructions or gave them a earring that is nickel based and nickel is a super common allergy to have in earrings. I do 8-10 piercings a day on various ages. If you, or know somebody else that wants to get their ears pierced, please save your money and stop into a Claire's or Icing store where a professional will take care of you.

I have 7 ear piercings (3 in each earlobe and 1 in my left cartilage) all of which were done with a gun, and 5 of the 7 done at Walmart, and I never had any problems whatsoever. It really depends on the person and how well you take care of the piercing.

There are thousands of videos and they are filled with heaps of comments saying the same thing. everyone knows guns arent the best but if you want to get it down with a gun do it. I got my ears pierced at Walmart, my second time ever getting them pierced (the first time @ Claires) because one of my holes closed up. I will never forget: the piercing gun got stuck on my f***ing ear. Then the lady was trying not to freak out and had to call over multiple people, meanwhile I don't like needles so I was already freaking out before the gun got stuck to my ear. Not a good day.

I got my second set of peircings at claire's. People are saying you shouldn't trust walmart with peircings, and now that i've read the complaints with both claire's and walmart, I can just tell you that ANY PEIRCING CAN GET INFECTED!!! Most of the time it's not the stores fault. People are also saying that walmart did their peircings crooked, so I don't trust walmart with that stuff. If you're looking for a good piercing, I SUGGEST YOU GO to CLAIRES or go to a PROFESSIONAL.

I'm considering getting double cartilage piercings done and a lot of people say not to get it done with a piercing gun. I got my earlobe piercings done with a gun and it was fine and healed right. Some people say the gun is only meant for the earlobe and the needle is better for a cartilage piercing.. I talked to a fellow classmate today about her cartilage piercing and she got it done at Claire's with a gun and healed fine. But from reading a lot of comments on a lot of these piercing videos, people have said it depends on who does the piercing. I honestly don't believe in that "shattering your cartilage thing". It sounds possible but also your ear can get puffy and infected if you don't take care of it. I'm hoping to get mine pretty soon.

I got my cartilage pierced with a gun at walmart they healed fine and i am so happy with them. it took less then 10 sec to pierce both of them and didnt hurt at all. i was able to get both ears done for only 5 dollars because the earrings i picked were on sale. Theres nothing wrong with going to walmart for a piercing if u dont have the money for one little piercing.

The first piercing I got was at my Walmart. UGH the lady who did it used a gun, and now thanks to her I have to get surgery for my ear, because she split my earlobes. Now for my piercings, I go to a place called Light Touch. So much better.

Biggest mistake was the gun, I will get more piercings with a needle when I'm 18 and I will think why I ever got my ears pierced with a gun.

I've had both of mine pierced at Walmart and they are fine (I'm a male). It didn't hurt and were placed almost correctly. They are off by like a smidgen but you cant even notice. Walmart does sterilize and use gloves. Never had an infection and i am also stretching them which has not effected them at all. P.S for those who say Claire's is better they are not. They use guns too which are just as bad and Claire's charges wayyyy more. Their selection is way too pricey.

Getting cartilage pierced with a gun is a bad idea -.- but ear lobes are fine I had my ear lobes done with a gun and my insustrial with a hollow needle. The problem with Claire's and Wal-Mart is the aftercare. They tell you to use peroxide or give you something similar. That stuff will kill the bad bacteria but also the good bacteria so it will slow down the healing. I recommend sea salt spray or saline except if it gets really infected.

People go to unprofessional stores like Claire's and Walmart because it's cheaper. Go to professional, even tho it's a bit more expensive, they know what they are doing.. My opinion.

I got my first ear pricing at Walmart when I was 4 and they got the gun stuck in my ear. And it was kinda uneven. True story.

My friend got both her first lobes and her doubles done at Wally-World. She says they are fine and I will believe her.... But I refuse to get my ears pierced in a Walmart or even buy their jewelry that is going to go in my body from there. I went to Piercing Pagoda to get my first lobes done when I was 13 (I'm 15 now) better and probably more sanitary than Claire's. More than likely not better than a tattoo shop. But I am going back there to get my double done on my left ear, so I guess that shows I still trust Piercing Pagoda. But I am not going to get my cartilage done there (because of the guns). I'm gonna go to the tattoo shop my dad gets his tatts at and get two cartilages done on my left ear as well.

I had my cartilage done at Walmart. I was not pleased with the service. The gun hurt my ear badly and pain didn't go away for months. Also worst part, the woman's glove got caught in my piercing and she just laughed because the glove was attached to my ear and had to cut it off. I had to take the piercing out. Learned my lesson. 15$ wasted, and pain gained.

That lady was not professional I got mine done at Walmart and you do NOT use alchohol it closes them up and it will HURT. The lady I got was very nice and she did great.

I got my ears pierced at Walmart. I chose these earrings in the shpe of a flower with lots of colored petals. The lady marked my ears using a purple marker, took the gun and put them in. They're fine. I still have the holes.

To people defending using a gun to pierce anything think of it like this: Would you rather have your doctor do heart surgery by just taking a blunt disk and shoving it through your rib cage to your heart increasing your chances of your ribs collapsing, damaging the heart, and increasing your chances of infection due to him being a doctor who went to school for two weeks OR Having a doctor who spent countless years practicing heart surgery delicately cutting open the ribs to make sure you do not have your rib collapses? I know which I would pick, go to a professional who specializes in the art of piercing. Not a 20 year old who doesn't even want to be there.

Why do people pierce customers ears in public ? Go to a room where it's more peaceful and less stress

I got my first piercings at Walmart and they are perfectly even, but when I got my second ones at Claire’s, they were SO UNEVEN🙄 My piercings from Walmart never got infected but the piercings I got done at Claire’s did, A LOT!! I’m getting my ears pierced at Walmart again tomorrow or the day after😂 my third hole and my cartilage..with a gun. Honestly if u take care of the piercings you shouldn’t have a problem with them. Also, I think it’s fine if u use a gun to pierce your ears lmao

I got my cartilage piercing with a gun and it healed just as fine as my brothers earlobe piercing (we got it at the same time) my ear did bleed some but that was because I tried to change the earring too early, I plan on getting my second one soon, I just know next time I'll let it heal on its own.

The ear ring backs were on to tight and caused an infection. my dad had to pry the backs off because they were on to tight. The infection is gone now. im going to Walmart for my 3rd lobe piercing. i went there for my first and I am happy with the results

Get rid of that gun, seriously shouldn't let any piercing places have them even for lobes. And especially a cartlidge piercing like wtaaaaffffffff, they aren't professional and what's worse is you can get annoying bumps that take forever to heal
