I'm sure I am not the only one who will metion that your Walmart carries WAY more yarn than some of your viewers. Had to laugh when your grandson mentioned 'pathetic' to the amt your store carries...🤣...not! I.E. the Pioneer Woman section @ my local WM has only 4 diff colored skeins on 1 shelf...that's it! Lol. My Walmart has about 1/3 of an aisle of yarn. So sad.

I've used the Mainstay 100% acrylic in several projects baby blankets, beanies, scarves, gloves it works up beautifully. It's super soft and squishy when worked up especially in puff, cluster etc type. You will definitely not be disappointed.

Glenda, try the Mainstay yarn, it's wonderful! I love it and use it often, much softer than red heart and washes great!

Mainstay yarn is really nice and softer than Red-heart…alot of bang for your buck…especially if you do alot of crochet for charity. I really like the new Red-heart speckle yarns they put out last year… I made a large Christmas basket with the red color and stuffed it full of goodies as a present. Your Walmart yarn isle is stocked very well compared to mine which has so much empty shelf space. I’ll trade you!!!🤣🤣🤣. Stay safe and be blessed ❤

I'm in California and my Walmart has that amount of yarn. And it was a Rollback on Red Heart. I picked up 2 regular skeins in Amythyst. Ive purchased Main Stay and I'd compare it to Red Heart. I grabbed the blue colourway and red, pink and white for a Valentine's Day shawl for me. ❤❤

Diddly squat is what my Wal Mart has. Most of the time I end up going to Joann's or Michael's. So I've been saving my pennies for the one local yarn shop where I find local hand dyed yarn. Next month we are having a yarn festival. So looking forward to that. Happy yarning everyone 💕.

So disappointed with our local Walmart. It had originally had 3 full aisles of yarn. They redesigned the store and gave us 1 pathetic aisle that has the hooks/needles and other notions taking up a portion of the aisle. So sad. They are pushing us to buy online more & more. The only problem buying yarn online is you don’t get the tactical experience. Super sad day for yarn lovers. Cheers from FL😺

Omgosh when I went to Walmart I saw the hooks too but had no idea there were actual crochet hooks in the cases. How funny!!! I love yo try so many hooks. I do like those plastic boye hooks but finding the yarn to be happy with it is a different story. I use clover more than anything.

I live in Ewa Beach Hawaii. My Wal-Mart used to have one isle on one side. Now we have about 10 ft of one isle. Red heart super saver about 12 colors, mainstay 6 colors, some mandala and cotton cones. A few Bernat 5 weight. Puzzle a few colors.. I get most of my yarn online or local thrift store.

I love the Mainstay yarn 🧶 at Walmart. I have made some hat and scarf sets with it and no problem. I also love the Mainstay yarn with the sparkle! I have used it for holiday scarfs and ornaments. I highly suggest trying both!!❤

Isle (Island) is where you go on vacation. Aisle is where you walk, in a church/store. Beautiful yarn.

The Walmart in my rural town sure doesn't have but maybe less than a quarter of the yarn 🧶 your showing us. The only pioneer woman yarn is the variegated and matching solids. None of the cakes or chennile. We have one Isle and it's pitiful. I have to go 60+ miles to JoAnns or 30+ to Hobby Lobby to get variations of Yarns 🧶. Thank you for sharing your Walmart's selection. Thanks for th tour. There's only one aisle of yarn in several Wal-Marts I visit as well. Some of those yarns aren't in my Cali stores. Mainstay Sparkle crochets up nicely. I use all regular Mainstay. I make hats to afghans.

My Walmart has half of one side of a short aisle of yarn, with practically ZERO selection. They used to have an aisle and a half plus end caps (plus a full craft section with a fabric cut counter).

Hi Glenda. I haven’t used the Mainstays acrylic, but I just finished a project with the Mainstays 100% cotton yarn in the border. The main body was done in Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton. The Mainstays was fluffier and softer. It almost felt like an acrylic.The Lion a bit stiffer with a smooth finish. It will be interesting to see how they both wash up and hold their shapes.

I have made a bunch of blankets with Main Stay yarn. After they have been washed they are super soft. It is not bad to work with, unless you get the skein with a bunch of knots. They need to stop the line and fix what is causing the breaking problem. Although, it is seldom I get a skein that bad. Thank You for the reviews. I wish all the Wal Marts near me were as nice as yours'. I will make a run to Aurora, Indiana to see if they have still kept up with their store.

My "local" Walmarts are 2.5 and 4 hours away..the closer one doesnt have much yarn inventory at all. There IS a Ben Franklins in that town tho, but unfortunately their yarn supply is pretty small too. Thanks for the walk thru ☺️

I've used the Main Stay yarn when my Wal-Mart didn't have the Red Heart colors that I needed. They worked up really easy and it was much softer than the Red Heart.

I have used the Walmart mainstay 100% acrylic non peeling yarn and I love it. Easy to crochet, washes well, very soft made up and holds it shape well. Will use it again although have to order because local Walmarts only carry 3 colors. Premier and Lion Brand are my other favorite yarns. Thank you Glenda for being an extra teacher. Yes the Walmarts I usually go to have downsized their yarns to a partial aisle now too. I haven't been to all of them, but I'm sure they're the same. Michaels has more than Walmart which isn't saying much because what they do have seldom rotates. I keep seeing the same old yarns from last year, with the exception of Loops & Threads, which I don't particularly care for. Thank goodness for Hobby Lobby!

Hi Glenda and Cody, thank you for the tour. You have a lot more yarn than we have in our Walmart, short aisle, never anything new. We do have a separate display for the Hometown yarn. I don't care for it because there aren't very many yards on one skein.

Yes my walmart has very little yarn. Don't blink when you go past it or you'll miss it the problem is that so many crafters order over seas and I really think that's why yarn is getting less and less in joannes michaels etc

It was nice going to Walmart. I went to my local Hobby Lobby and felt the yarn section was smaller. It was upsetting. I hope it’s just temporary. I hope Walmart increases their hobby choices.

I use mainstays yarns a lot and they are very nice to work with, I'm not sure how they would weather time like a Red Heart yarn but the softness is close to a Hobby Lobby when using.

I live in southwestern PA, and in-between 2 walmarts, and combined they don't have the volume or assortment that your walmart has 😢, but I really enjoy your yarn tour's and tutorials

Oh, my lol my walmart carries like three different colours of pioneer woman in the little skeins and yarn in general is about half an aisle. Surprisingly they carry a good deal of fabric and sewing items. Hobby Lobby is the best(and closet) place for me. Ha, the niffler, draco and diagon alley are from Harry Potter, the rest sounded like mythical or star based names.

I really like the mainstay yarn over the red heart yarn. I think it feels better than the red heart yarn. The only drawback is there's not the assortment of colors like red heart yarn. It's a bit cheaper in price, and l use it when I can. Try it, you might like it.😊

I am amazed at the large selection of yarn you have at your Walmart! My neighborhood WallyWorld also has just one aisle of yarns, but it's much smaller/shorter than yours. Is your Walmart a Supercenter or just a plain ol' Walmart? My Baltimore, MD one is a Superstore - maybe they have fewer non-grocery items than a "regular" Walmart.

Ourwalmart only has one shelf of yarn - one section - and it usually has about 3 skeins - and on avg two will be totally screwed up. Now, THATS pathetic.

We only have one aisle at my local Walmart as well. And hobby lobby has decreased their yarn aisle also. I think it was because of the pandemic because that’s when they decreased.

Your Walmart has a good selection and more than my state. I like the mainstay yarn. What part of Pennsylvania are you near? Most of my family lives in Pennsylvania . Next time I am there if this Walmart is near where my family is I would like to go there. I don't live in Pennsylvania anymore due to the military.

My walmart yarn section is very limited. I found joanns for coupons and sales and hobby lobby is best for sales and immediate yarn need but you cant beat Herrschners catalog and Mary Maxim online

Guess my WM is ty1pical from others.i have mentioned before how disappointing it is shopping for yarn at any yarn stores.remember stores like Kmart and Ames that carried large inventories especially during gift giving seasons.i have been getting mystery boxes just to experience first hand yarns because you really cant tell what they feel like and even not the colors
