My blood pressure was borderline in my cholesterol high even though I eat a very healthy, plant-based diet. My doctor recommended walnuts and flaxseed meal be added to my daily diet. Blood pressure decreased to normal and cholesterol decreased. My doctor is awesome!

Absolutely awesome presentation! Thank you for your time and efforts to teach the masses what is happening in our diets. ONE WORD OF WARNING: Many nuts are shipped and sit. It is super important to grab fresh nut meats. When nuts and trailmix taste like cardboard, or smell like cardboard - they have gone stale or rancid. Rancidity in fats is common and this is why they boil fats like corn oil, cooking oils, and other things you find in the kitchen. This heat hurts the fats and the body gets the opposite effect from these fats in rancid oils - they hurt the body. So fresh nuts are super important. Also, on the grocery store shelf, many nuts are preserved with infused oils and chemicals for longer shelf life. But this isn't healthy. So you need to be sure you either crack the nuts from the shells themselves, you don't keep huge quantities because moldy nuts are dangerous to the human liver. You need pure, fresh nuts, you need to store them in a cool and dry place, and you need to buy small quantities to be sure they don't accidentally grow stale on the storage shelf. Side Note: Olive Oils have a lot of fake ingredients. If it has a stamped showing when it was bottled and when it will expire, pay attention to that. It is important. Check the back of the bottle, look more into the real vs fake brands, Real Olive Oil is best bought in small bottles. This way you keep getting fresh olive oil in your body, and not huge quantities stored.

Every morning, before my coffee, I eat several teaspoons of my homemade walnut butter, along with a small bowl of fresh homemade applesauce (keeping the skins on) and a banana. So yummy. I just pour walnuts into my food processor, add some stevia and a pinch of salt and process until smooth. Try it! Cheaper and less expensive than store bought, especially cause I don’t add any extra unhealthy fat. 😊

@@joshuagoldberger616 It’s easy. I buy large bag walnuts in the baking isle. I dump them in my food processor. I add about a teaspoon of stevia and some salt to taste. I process until it turns into a smooth butter. I have to turn it off several times to scrape down the sides. It takes a few minutes, but if you process long enough, the oil is released and you end up with some yummy butter. I eat it by the spoonful. Try it!

Helpful video, thank you! It's the oil BALANCE or ratio I think that matters as per the omega 3s and 6s. It's one to one for Walnut oil, or close to it. This may be best for vascular cell wall linings according to Dr. Essylston of Forks over Knives and the Cleveland Clinic. Almonds have a very bad balance, extremely bad, and most oils have 'bad' ratios. The closer to one to one the better, with anywhere from 1:4, or 4:1 omega 3s to 6s said to be optimal. And all the other good stuff you put in there, thank you for that!
@johndoe9362
@johndoe9362 Жыл бұрын
The Omega3/Omega6 balance theory is a sort of a myth. You're almost definitely getting enough Omega 6 on a plant based diet. Just eat more Omega 3's and don't worry about the ratio.

The phytic acid issue of causing lowering of iron and zinc. That is good to know. Thank you It has been stated elsewhere that soaking nuts in water overnight which causes something akin to sprouting actually reduces the phytic acid. Almonds are especially high in phytic acid and this could help anyone who feels a bloating sensation when eating them. That is another issue with phytic acid. On the other hand it has also been stated that production of an enzyme that breaks down phytic acid will be increased over time if one is eating nuts regularly.
