I went this past weekend. It was amazing! It was so fun exploring Walt’s childhood hometown and the museum. I also meet so pretty cool people along the way. I highly recommend checking out Marceline, MO to anyone that can. Thanks Nate for showing your experience visiting Marceline. 🥰

So glad you covered this!!! I had the EXACT experience with being too excited to adequately film that day, & I didn't even go to the D23 event! I don't think I remembered a single historical thing I'd been planning on going over; It was just a lot of, "Look at THIS, guys!!!" If the footage weren't there, I'd still think I daydreamed up the whole day. It was great getting to meet you (& a bit surreal, as you're now both the first vlogger I subscribed to back in the day AND the first other vlogger that I've run into in the wild)!

Thanks for taking us with you Nate. I nearly cried the entire video. I grew up on a 160 acre farm near a small town that died when the train was removed. What was left when I was a kid was the general store, the feed store, a small church and a post office. Everything had wood floors and looked like a scene from Little House on the Prarie. Other towns around us all look like Marceline. The one I live in now, the old downtown looks like it. I always think of Main StreetUSA when I drive down it. I see it and think of what it could be and somehow it just seems wrong that people aren’t going jn and out of the shops, the buildings are crumbling, music isn’t playing in the background and that there isn’t a castle at the end of it all. 😢 Even though Walt tried to design a better city of tomorrow, he had already experienced and designed the very best that America has to offer, MainStreet USA. ❤❤❤

It's pretty cool that I was able to witness you recording some of this, including seeing the "Hey friends" intro. We toured the theatre on Sunday, and it was a sad sight. The building is in need to major renovations. It could be so more than it is currently. The apartments above the theatre were not much better.

I am so glad you got to experience Marceline!!! We are from Missouri and have been to Marceline several times. We stay at the Hotel Marceline and they decorate and furnished the rooms with furnishings from the Disney resorts! It is a real Disney treat that I wish all Disney fans could experience. The video is great though and it is almost like actually being there! So thank you!

It was an old train station! It was a depot for the Santa Fe! If you see any freight trains with orange, and black coloured engines, that's the BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe), the successor the the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway! And while they don't have passenger service anymore, many of the routes were taken over by Amtrak in the 70s. So much history in that little town!

I just visited Marceline on May 25th and LOVED every minute of it! It was a totally impromptu diversion on a road trip from Maine to Des Moines, Iowa with my Aunt. She wanted to go to Hamilton, MO for quilting shops, so being the Disnerd I am, said "wonder how far Marceline is from Hamilton. " Turns out, it was basically on the way. I was sad when I learned that I was just days from missing this celebration. Thanks for sharing the celebration, Nate!!!

When I was first born, my parents took me here (to the barn) and sign their name, 2006 and I revisited it in 2020 2 weeks before the world shut down. I signed it again next to it, and when I saw it in this video, made me tear up, and now I need to go back.
