What a brilliant air rifle! This Walther LGV spring piston break barrel is German engineering at its finest... it likes most pellets, but loves JSB Match Diabolo Hades!

Thanks for a great video .I have one in .177 I hade a hw100 for 8 years don’t get me wrong it’s a great gun, I wanted to go back to a springer found one of these in mint condition it shoots as good as my 100 yes the trigger isn’t the best but you will get to like it

You have one of the best reviews I've seen so I subscribed. I just got back into air gunning after 20 years or so and bought a HW90 in .20 cal shooting JSB EXACT 13.73 gr. I'm in the States so it's full power for me. I like the gas ram because of my last rifle which was the Beeman Crow Magnum. The HW90 is a heavy gun for sure and hard to cock. It chronographs at 820 FPS delivering 20 foot pounds with the 13.73 pellet. I wish you could do a review on the 90 or the 90K. Thanks for givong such great reviews. I'll check out the rest of your videos.

Hi @rshettle123, always to nice to hear when someone likes the review and has subscribed...thanks! In all honestly, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be doing them for. Although I get loads of great comments, I receive no funding from either the dealerships or manufacturers which means I'm not covering the costs of creating such content. Anyway, I've got a couple more to do and we'll see where I go from there. All the best from across the pond!

Great in depth review. That is a fantastic rifle at a great price. It would be interesting to see its power tested with a lighter pellet, maybe a JSB RS.

Its a great rifle that's for sure .. and I'm guessing well worth the £300+ asking price , I have no doubt it will be snapped up as soon as this vid is watched ... not a springer fan myself , ( own a 1974 BSA Mercury , from new ) but can appreciate a good quality one ... think I'd get the shop to chronograph it with a light pellet before its sold ( JSB Diabolo RS ? ) as ( apparently ) lighter pellets in a springer give an higher fpe , as opposed to a PCP which is the opposite .. giving HIGHER fpe with an HEAVIER pellet ..

Yes it is, and yes you do have to be careful with pellet weights. Already have people chomping at the bit to buy one, so possibly a good investment for the future.

Nice review but sadly you can no longer purchase new as production ceased about 2 years ago, the reason being i heard was the mould for casting the trigger housing wore out and it would not be financially viable to produce a replacement considering the number of LGVs & LGUs sold. I have to agree with you on the superb accuracy though , i bought a nearly new one a while back which the previous owner had it tuned at sandwell field sports .and i can honestly say the trigger is now on level with the hw rekord.

A pellet seater will make loading tighter pellets into the breach easier with less likely hood of skirt damage.

Have mine 12 years and it is good quality well worth the money if you like and blend with it.But it has a lot of competition which gives us a wide choice. More it is not it is still an Air rifle.

Got one of these brand new in 2017 for £350. Last new price I saw it - couple of years ago was £654. I don't think it was commercially viable to keep making them afterward. If Walther had they'd be asking the same money as the AA Pro Sport and who's going to pay nearly £1,000 for a springer, some yes but never enough? If it wasn't for the weight you'd think you was shooting a PCP - as accurate and nearly as quiet with a silky, tamed recoil system too. Barrel droop won't happen because like my Weihrauch HW35 the barrel locking lever keeps it aligned with the scope no problem. I was shocked at the crudity of my HW35's internals - the Walther's are like a Rolls-Royce compared to the HW35 Lada . I love my HW35 though now I've unboinged and tamed it with a Delrin tuning kit. Got the LGV in preference to the LGU for the nostalgia factor having only ever previously owned a break barrel Diana as a kid - never regretted it. Loved your presentation and enthusiasm.

hello , it looks thats this rifle has a loop up barrel .maybe i am wrong ,but it looks that way . but its a good shooter anyway ,because you wil not a need a moa mount for the scope. breakbarrels are the most handy springers , no dead weight easy to load and cleaning , and with some care ,lube and not slamming the barrel closing or hitting a rest or bag while shooting , because most a little barrel droop can come that way , i wish a pcp would have a kind of barrel thats pivots a little ,because of easy cleaning

Very in depth review- thanks. IMO any gun that groups well with hades will shoot even better groups with JSB heavy and JSB standards at longer distances, as the hades tend to open up after 40 yards. Would be good to see a group at 45 yards with its prefered pellet(s) After shooting the LGV you'll be incredibly disappointed with the BSA Lightning!🤦‍♂😆

It is, and that's why I review air rifles to find out how they perform and whether or not they're good value for money. That said, I honestly believe with time and leading-in, this LGV would tighten up. And look, a 12.5mm group at 30 m outside isn't bad, at all! I've only put 50 shots through it. Hi , the established wisdom with springers is to always put your hand between the stock and the rest, or to use the ‘ Artillery hold ‘. However you appear to have debunked that theory as you seemed to be shooting pretty successfully with a normal hold or how you would use a centre fire or a PCP 👍

It simply comes down to the shooter and the hold you prefer. I've been shooting for over 40 years, sub 12 ft lbs and high power FAC, not to mention shotguns. Do what works for you. All the best.

In truth, the LGV against the HW77K is smoother and has less of a kick. It also has more power. Accuracy wise about the same. I prefer the Rekord trigger on the Weihrauch. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best.

It’s too long and too heavy. Beech is difficult to refinish unlike Walnut. Anschütz barrels are superior to Walther’s. Not really a Walther,made by Umarex and it’s that good it’s no longer in production.

Ooof that harsh! I know of a few good rifles that are no longer in production, come to think of it, I know of a few good cars that are also no longer in production! Have you got an LGV or ever shot one?
