Hello and welcome. Today we take a first look at the new ‪@Waltherarms‬ PD380 chambered in .380 Auto. What are your thoughts on this new offering by ‪@Waltherarms‬ and in .380 for concealed carry? Nice review! There are some unique features on this pistol and the ergos look fantastic, too. I also appreciate that they included the sight adjustment tool. This pistol looks like it has alot to offer the consumers. 👍👍

In Brazil, Taurus released the TH380c, compact in caliber 380. Who knows, they might launch it in the USA too. It's a very interesting gun. Thanks for the video! 👍

I’m really interested in this gun. To me it looks like a polymer modernization of the ppk.

James Bond carried a PPK because it was small, thin and lightweight for the time. Today's subcompact 9mms are smaller, lighter and more powerful than this. While this pistol might be fine for some users, a modern-day spy (as in Walther's video ads) would certainly not choose this weapon.

I really like this pistol. Looks like a mini USP 😆 I've seen a lot of complaints about the capacity, but it holds one more round than the Shield EZ. It also has a trigger chassis system. Walter could easily make another grip version and higher capacity magazine.

@@MDpolo Definitely in my daily carry rotation now. I love this little gun. Got another one last night. it does not have the paddle mag release though.

People are obsessed with magazine capacity in spite of data showing you don't need it.

I just ordered one today after much research. I am a long time Walther use and fan so it has a slight edge. I wanted a SA/DA .380ACP conceal carry gun, not expensive, polymer maybe, I am state limited to 10 round mags so 9+1 is not too bad. I have small hands and many larger do not fit well. I do not like the "pocket pistols". My old favorite carry is my PPK. My favorite in my collection is my 1st gen P99. I was so used to it, the PD380 is a mini version sort of. I did like the striker fire P99 since it was so easy to charge with a .25" or so pull on the slide. So, the PD380 is batter by most reviews than the replaced PK380. At $400, I could go bad and even got the green frame. Thanks for the review.

I would take the Ruger Security 380 over this all day every day. Ruger has more capacity ( up to 15), is thinner, less tall, and lighter, doesn't have a thumb safety that flips up to fire, which is awkward and dumb, Ruger flips down as a thumb safety should. Ruger has very mild recoil, is very reliable, and is about $100 less expensive.

I love Walther but this was a fail big time. If it was double stacked they could've made it around 16 or 17 plus 1 and I would've grabbed one 100% How unfortunate to have missed that opportunity, idk what they were thinking. It could've been such a mini powerhouse.

Reasons Why I would buy the .380Kurz Glock G25 instead of this PD380. ***15 & 17 rd magazines*** Glock quality & simple Gen 3 design reliability. **Longer barrel at 4.02"** **Slightly fatter double stack grip.** Gen 3 textured finger grooved front grip strap. Squared front trigger guard for flush light fit. More clearance for glove in trigger gaurd. No slide mounted Safety lever. Male, 73, shooting since 1964, love my G17L, G40, G19X, metal classic P2xx Sigs, H&Ks, PDP Full 5", P99AS Final Ed, vz52, VP70Z. MDPolo, love your channel, watch many episodes multiple times, love your calm throughness. Thank you sir, dont let the youtube alligators get you down. 👍👍👍👍👍

I hope you'll do an indepth review of the Glock G25 .380. I respect your slow, sober, thoughtfull opinion and reviews. Al the other channels out there are just noise, don't understand intended design purposes and are too opinionated rather just reporting the facts. Thank you. I will stay tuned 👍

🤔... best guess for the ledge... to make sure other fingers don't obstruct the function of the lever magazine release.

The purpose might be that it'll be also available with a mag release button and they use the same mold for both? I found even the small ledge under the button a bit annoying. But if it helps to not accidentally eject the mag on those models while CC, then okay. Small rotary tool makes them less pointy. With how small 9x19mm pistols are now, .380 is losing ground having to pick specific ammo and if one has arthritis and enjoys the easy racking the trigger seems like a curve ball. Seen it online for 399$. For 5oz and 200$ more, maybe an pdp f series 3.5'' or an Arex rex zero compact. At least those should take the lights.

Hate slide mounted safeties more than Anything ! I never got into the paddle mag releases either. I also love smaller guns so this one is a pass. I love the PDP, if they would have kept with the same format and a little smaller, even with lower capacity, I would be interested.

I just bought one of these . Thanks for video. Does anyone know if there is a holster for inside carry? Or lights for rail? I do love feel of it. Going to shoot it next month at range. And can u change sights?

I think 380 ammo is more powerful than it used to be probably modern powders more power same pressure.

It's a milder home defense semiauto and occasional range pistol. This is not made for the hardcore CCW crowd. It competes with the S&W Shield 380EZ.

I'd say that this can easily become a popular carry pistol. Smith and Wesson EZ., a similar size gun certainly is. I've got the EZ, and it's one of my favorite carry guns. Lots of people carry Glock G19, .. SIG P320 variants, .. Beretta, CZ, and other larger guns.

A Walther with a 10 pound trigger? Wtf. That and the goofy ledge on the grip and low capacity mag make it uncompetitive. This is a gun for 12 years ago.

My cons: (and I have purchased PDP Full 5", Compact 4", F- Series) 5.15" height grip too short for my full Lg/ExLg size hand. ***No extended magazine. 9 rd mag with no larger mags available.*** Lack of front strap sarrations. External safety lever Poor case, not like the PDP cases. No OD Green Pros: Company heritage. PDP texture & sarrations. Trigger function. Ergonomics, just too small for my hand size. Overal design appearance. German Walther mfg. quality. .380 Kurz. Easy slide racking tension. Price. Conclusion: I think I'll buy the Glock G25 .380 - to satisfy my .380 acp thirst for smaller than my .45, 10mm and 9mm stable, and to share first time shooter outings wirh family on our New SigHampshire farm.

Don’t get the point of this gun. A big 380, less power and more expensive to shoot than a 9mm. Easy racking but too expensive to train with so for carry I rack once and good to go for a long time. I guess good for some, not me

Agreed in some ways as a single stack… I’m confused. Originally responded too soon assuming it was a double stack and commented on the few options in the market.

Great for many people, just not for you. LOTS to like, ... Many big improvements over PK 380. While more rounds is better for sure in case of multiple attackers, in probably over 99 percent of shootings, less than five or six rounds were fired by a defender.
