Thanks for explaining the PDP-F series spring weight. I just ordered one and then wondered if I should have selected a 15 lb spring instead of the 17 lb one I ordered. I then looked up this video and felt better knowing 17 lb is best for that model. You guys do a great job explaining in detail stuff like this about your products. It helps is because you answer the questions gun guys would ask

I was running the 15lb captured rod in my PDP Pro and it was flawless for 2000+ rounds. I am currently running the brass guide rod with 13lb spring and it has also been flawless with over 1000 rounds of 147 grain at a 138 power factor. I would highly recommend these products.

love the 15lb been running it for competition and only today with new federal 147 gr flat nose, did i run into issues. i think the overall length and the flat nose top was just a little too much for the 15lb to slam back into battery. 18lb stock spring fed em fine. im waiting to get a 17lb spring in to see if it will do the trick and give me a better feel. does that 1lb difference compare similar to the 15lb?

It creates a larger impulse with the higher static load. It then returns to battery really hard causing a second impulse.

Its so crazy how much ive been researching this the last 2 weeks and getting completely conflicting information.. So if i go from an 18 pound recoil spring weight to a 16 pound that will decrease recoil? Because i was told u go up in weight to reduce recoil.. im having a hard time understanding.. I really want to find a way to reduce recoil so my wife will feel more comfortable shooting at the range with me.. She said my PDP kicks too hard for her and she wants a different gun.. Well if i can reduce recoil by changing the recoil spring, then id be willing to make that change.. Only problem is im getting conflicting information.. Can anyone help?

Listen to the videos we have explaining it. It has to be matched to your ammo. 15lb is best for most people but it won’t overcome improper grip. 18lb is over what’s needed for standard power 9mm. Increasing will only increase the impulse. It’s a mass damper system.

He’s trying to sell his guide rods and springs. I get it. Go capitalism! But I love how he threw the factory guide rod and spring over his shoulder like it’s garbage. I’ve had my PDP now for going on two years and just passed 5500 rounds and the thing still runs like a champ with the factory Spring and guide rod. So, there’s that. People complaining about “muzzle flip“ from a 9 mm pistol should learn to work on their grip before they worry about a new spring. Fundamentals first.

Try a 13lb or 11lb spring and go back to your statement. Pistols are oversprung to handle all variety of ammo. Once you learn to dial it in you see what the conversation is about. He is selling them because it works. No not necessary but shots on targets will amaze you with less effort
