Now this one I really like! The Reign from Walther/Umarex is accurate and has an excellent magazine! Forgot to mention the shot count, around 180 in .22 and 160 in .177.

I’m on board with everything that’s been said here. The magazine is so simple and reliable but if for some reason you choose to shoot in single shot mode this is exceptionally easy - this morning I got through 60/70 shots, checking different pellet types after removing the silencer and didn’t lose one .177 pellet - without bothering to put on spectacles. I’ve got a Wildcat in FAC, a Dreamline tactical and an AA tdr and the Reign earns its place in the gun cabinet in terms of sheer easy of use. This morning at the farm, without a silencer I got a 5 shot group measuring 11mm across with Daystate Heavys (10.64g) at 40yds. I would not choose to use it without a silencer in the garden but as my go to farm gun it’s perfect without the silencer and stows away in a very small rucksack for the 5min walk to the farm. This gun is very underrated - possibly just on looks.

I bought this a few months back in .22. Here in the US it has a permanent moderator and an unshrouded barrel. I get really good groups out to 50m with cheapie Crosman Premier 14.3 domed pellets. Like you said, it seems well built and well suited to woods hunting. Really great rifle for the price. Great plinker to be sure.

Excellent bullpup for the lefty's. Its a simple, 15 minute job to move the cocking lever to the other side. It may have a synthetic, plastic body that you have to remove every time you want to adjust the trigger or do any other servicing on the gun, but it is good quality, rock solid and also very easy to keep clean and in tip-top condition after a day in the field or down the range. There is a way of adjusting the trigger by removing the butt plate and getting limited access to trigger adjustment that way, but its easier to take your time and take the polymer ‘clam shell' body off. Its powerful enough, very lightweight, manageable and easy to hold on a full days shoot. It may be a little pricey, it may be a so-called “Marmite” gun, but I like it very much and if you are a left handed/left eyed shooter looking for a truly ambidextrous, powerful bullpup, this is worth a good look. I also have the Kral Empire X in my collection that is also an excellent ambidextrous option with good design features for lefty’s. For non-regulated, budget options for lefty's the Walther Reign is my first choice in spring 2021 followed by the Kral Empire X, both in the sub £1000 bracket. The Weihrauch HW100 BP is an excellent, quality option for right handed use, but not as ambidextrous as the Reign can be and also comes with a higher price. Well done Walther/Umarex for having design features that are truly ambidextrous to accommodate ALL shooters. If only other manufacturers would accommodate lefty's more!

Nice review Mr Rack. Respect for the poppy. Now, I don't care is its plastic or as you say, polymer or compacted seaweed. If it works, it works. That has had ne EFEECTS on the IMPACT of this bullpup on your opinion. But I'm sure you don't have a shop selling Walther bits and pieces. Keep em coming geeza, peaceout

Great Review. I get a bit fed up with reading negative reviews about the Walther Reign. I totally agree with all you have said. Light, accurate, beautifully engineered, and performs just as well as much more expensive PCP's. Overpriced it is not. I am right handed, but swapped the cocking lever over to the left, as I often carry and shoot the Reign 'sub-machine' gun style, with it on a Sling over my shoulder, using a Red Dot for sighting. Whilst keeping a finger on the trigger I can cock and shoot it really quickly that way. As to the criticism of it being too 'plasticky'. Each to their own, but hiding the bottle inside the casing is brilliant in my opinion. I own lots of guns, so my comparisons are real. The Reign is definitely the most 'menacing' gun I have. I have seen it described as looking like a 'toy!!! Well a very dangerous looking 'toy', particularly carried over the shoulder. Not that I would ever dare to do that in Public. I have no doubt that it would be taken for a sub-machine gun in a heartbeat, with heart stopping results probably.

I really like the looks of this bullpup. Alas I have a small garden and some nasty neighbours. Also I’m finding it a bit pricy to get into pcp. Cause it’s not only the gun but also an air tank, compressor or good expansive hand pump. And some kind of optics obviously.

Take your point with some Umarex guns but, my LGU (yeah I know) is second to none (spring rifles anyway) but my Legends lever action (the original -with magazine) is astonishingly accurate, yeah it`s a bit gimmicky, but it works & it`s great fun! I`d have that Reign in a jiffy, but, she`d kill me! thanks for the review.

Best Walther Reign UXT review on the net. Why? Because you pointed out all the brilliant design features that should be making all other makers take notice. There are some design features here that should be STANDARD on air rifles, no exceptions (like the fill gauge being next to the fill port, ambidextrous etc...). I'm from California (So Cal accent), appreciate your accent too mate. Good "chunky" accent. - C

The only design change I'd make (in addition to what you recommended) is to make that small picatinny rail on the grip removable with bolts, similar to M4 platforms, etc.

One last thing, all you need to do is remove the buttplate to adjust the trigger. This is accomplished by removing last three bolts on the rear portion of the stock. It slides out and you can get Allen keys in there ;).

@Captain_Dirt it’s a nice accurate rifle what I have seen of it, and would be happy if I owned one and can’t pick any faults with it and it’s priced well... We go hunting and have had all makes of air rifles over the years also got shotguns and bullet, but what I can see in the airgun world if you not got for say a Air Arms, Daystate people look down on you, myself got the Gunpower stealth, the old HW80 and the Smk cp2 and I have had more fun blatting rats with that cheap smk than anything also it’s very accurate, we have hit pellet on pellet with them at around 28 yards when you find the right pellet that the gun prefers.

How could I get this style with the shrouded barbell and regulator in the us?! The is model over here is way to loud and being non regulated is kinda a deal breaker for me, otherwise this is the prefect gun.

@wannabemgtow2540 3 жыл бұрын
Very strange you are reviewing this model PCP, I have been looking at the Walther Reign for a few days now for small game hunting in thick woods. I like its compact design and lightweight of it, but After doing some research, I think they may have blown it for the US version. I read it's not regulated and doesn't come with a barrel shroud. It does come with some kind of suppressor, but some complained that it was not effective. Too bad, I was really thinking of acquiring it.

Edit: On reflection, I think I was being a bit of a scrooge with my £400 benchmark. 500 would of been a more reasonable target. However I've since discovered that these guns are selling for over 750 quid :O That's a lot of money for what's probably just a £375 Rotex in different trousers, and two piece plastic ones at that too. I still like it, in terms of the ergos, and aesthetics, but not at that price point.

owned mine for 7 days and fired 11 pellets through it before i called dealer to come back and pick it up....the plastic stock is utter junk and is actually worse then my sons 2 airsoft rifles that cost £150 each.....the stock actually rattles and moves independently from the barrel...was told that's the way they all are by dealer...i paid £575 for mine 2nd hand as new condition ,I'm guessing the 1st owner didn't have it long either cos he upgraded to a Brocock the dealer told me ....i handed gun back and paid an extra £160 on top and bought a Weihrauch HW110 and omg the difference in quality is night and day....bear in mind the Weihrauch is only £20 more expensive then this toy gun at full new prices....avoid this gun like the plague cos there complete and utter rubbish
