All of the little parts make me glad I model in HO scale. I just cant see the small pieces. Great video.

Yeah, the N scale parts are small, I have to use my reading glasses to see them.

Brian Page! I have watched a lot of videos how to build the Glacier Gravel Co. Your video is the best hands down! Watched it over and over again so I could build mine. in HO. You are a first- rate teacher! It will make a great addition to my steel mill for my new slag dump. Thanks Dave Stout

Wow, thanks David! I'm glad it helped.

I love your intros. Great chuckles! I built this kit many years ago. It’s still one of my favorites on my layout.

I'm really looking forward to getting it done - Thanks, Randy!

See maybe a little tough but it all worked out following instructions. Believe it or not just the thin film that runs off that glue brush really is enough. Off to a real nice start.
@brianpagemodeltrains3 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, yeah, it's all working out, but there are things missing in the instructions. Thought it would be fun to actually build this by the instructions, because other people have done videos where they assembled the kit their own way. The real problem with the Walthers instructions is the printing is so bad, it's tough to see some of the details in the drawings.

hi Brian... i just finished this kit...i will say you are more daring than me ....i did not do my conveyors...great start../the rest of the kit is easy peasy... vinny

Thanks Vinny, I'm glad I watched your video before I started. I hope you don't mind, I put a link to your Amazon site in my description. Glad I picked up the gluing jig, that is a handy piece of equipment.

Thanks Anthony! I was used to building plastic model airplanes, etc., but then I cam down with the railroading bug again.

"The brown bottle is the most important tool to build a Walther's kit." Thanks Brian, I'll have to keep looking for that tool. They keep getting emptied, ha!

Amen to that. This kit may take a 12 pack, not sure yet!

I'm going to try to keep it shorter than that, Dave, we'll see.

Painter's tape (masking tape) is your additional pair of hands. Or even two pair of hands. It holds pieces together for gluing better than just about anything else. The fit can be tweaked more easily than by using anything else.
@brianpagemodeltrains Жыл бұрын
That's good advice, thanks Bob!

Good start my Friend... im surprised Walthers didnt tell you to build 2 L shaped sides (one top one side, one bottom one side) then glue them together. You got it working. That metal box and magnet kit is next on my list. I also want to get one of those over sided cutting mats you have. Mine is too small. (Shh i didnt say that)..
@brianpagemodeltrains3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rick! Yeah, didn't get too far, but that was amazingly time consuming.

As I recall, the parts you just completed were indeed the most difficult part of constructing the kit.
