New WalthersProto® HO Scale announcements for this month include six schemes for the all-new EMD FP7 diesels in FP7A-F7B sets and individually - perfect for passenger service on your layout! For modelers just starting out in the hobby the new WalthersTrainline™ WiFlyer Express and Flyer Express Train Sets give beginners a choice between hi-tech Bluetooth wireless sound and DCC set or a traditional DC set. Sets include new WalthersTrainline Power-Poc Track™ with nickel silver rail, realistic brown ties and gray ballast roadbed for easy setup on most surfaces. In addition to the Flyer Express Train Sets, Power-Loc track is also available in an expansion set and in individual sections. Additionally, a package of adapter sections is also available making Power-Loc usable with most other makers’ track systems. I'm glad to see Power-Loc track coming back, in a newly-improved version no less! It sure looks better than the older steel-rails-and-black-roadbed variety I used when I was starting out with model trains as a kid. Maybe you guys could also bring back some of those classic Life-Like operating cars and accessories designed for use with Power-Loc, like the operating coal tipple, log dump car and dual crossing gates (though the freight cars would now be upgraded to TrainLine-quality, with metal wheels and knuckle couplers.)

I need more information on your new power-loc track. I haven't been able to buy track pieces anywhere.

We just recently bought this set with the Walthers WiFi Train controller, however, I can not get the wifi connection to work consistently at all. We are on our second controller which is working a little better but is not working well. Does anyone have any advice on how to get this to connect successfully? For instance, sometimes there will be only 2 of the 4 buttons shown. Other times the controls will work for a while but then will stop working and the train just moves slowly around the track until I unplug the unit. Any thoughts are appreciated.

That's a very cool idea with the WiFi enabled trains, also sorry if before when I was pointing out my Plymouth didn't work, wasn't trying to be mean just wanted to tell you that it was no problem with locomotive, it was because my controler was not plugged in all the so I didn't notice until I sent it back, lol. Also mabye you could try out train line steam locomotives. Just an idea

Are you going to have 22” or wider radius turns for power.loc?

If not R/C hopefully a more simplified DCC system where you don't have to go through all the cv's etc. More modern freight cars like a Trinity Plastic pellet, Carbon Black covered hoppers, more RD4 coal hoppers and various chemical tankers.

So the trains controlled by phone have dcc sound? And do they have to be used on strictly on track powered by a dcc transformer?

Hello, the DCC sounds include the engine (prime mover), horn and bell. The decoder is what’s commonly known as a dual-mode type and you can run the engine on any DCC or DC powered layout.
