Blimey Robert, if that had been me I would have ended up with more glue on my fingers than on the model! You have the patients of a saint, well done. It looked cracking at the end. Superb choice of music too, one of my all time favourite tracks........Graham

Thanks for the video. I'm planning to do something similar in Z-scale. I got 3-d printed transformers and frames from Shapeways. The yard will include a boiler house to suggest the facility had been a small generating station at one time, later updated to substation. I may enclose it with a tall iron picket fence between brick wall segments. Of course, because it's Z-scale, that enclosure will be scratch built.

I hope you do a video on the build, would be good to see how it all looks when you finish cheers Robert

I may have to go to the crazy house when and if I buy one. I was thinking of getting the petroleum plant too. So many small parts. Great job putting it together. The transfer area is going to look great when done. Can't wait to see it finished. Scott

+csxmad Robert, I'm REALLY not looking forward to the Petroleum Plant!😠😠😠😲 However, since my main industry in my "world" IS Petroleum.... I'd better get used to building "spaghetti salad" (as me granddaughter calls it). I've done a bit of the plumbing already.... but haven't even STARTED the Plant yet....

I see a lot of substations like that sitting on grey gravel. And I hope you are going to wire it up and connect it to apropriate transmition lines.

Yes i will be putting gravel down cheers Robert
@retrainrun9 жыл бұрын
It came out great! How long did it take you to build It? One thing I hate about the Walters fence is that wire! It's so weird, when it bends, that's it you can not straighten it. Great job Robert! RT
@csxmad9 жыл бұрын
retrainrun RT i never time it but at a guess about 3 hours solid each segment went for about an hour, and your right about the wire this was a pain, but it also made it look like it has been there for years and that was the look i wanted cheers Robert
@richardredcastle79119 жыл бұрын
The music was obviously used to disguise the swearing...I've noticed that real sub-stations use bluestone gravel on top of the dirt to suppress grass and weeds. Perhaps light coloured ballast? Nice job on a fiddly build Rob.

I wish I could actually build at that speed. Especially the tricky intricate stuff. I would have resorted to the vernacular pretty quickly if I had built this kit. Much more enjoyable seeing you whizz it together like that. I think we should refer to it as a 'Fast Bob Job'. Maybe these videos could be the FBJ series?...........lol........David(UK) PS - How come KZfaq allows you too use the music? Every time I put anything good on it gets blocked due to copyright infringement........or something similar....
