Be sure to change the video quality setting to 720 P HD for the best viewing.
You can see a lifter's view of the competition platform by going to drive.google.com/drive/folder...
(Note, due to reasons beyond my control, I was unable to attend and video lifters at the 2020 Arnold / AO1 )
This video shows the normal speed and 1 / 10th speed side-by-side versions of the 2 best lift attempts of each of 4 More Senior Men, 1-102 kg lifter from the Union Station Session 18 Blue platform, (John Reardon), 3-+109 Kg lifters, Union station Session 22 White platform (Michael Miller, Philip Angelo & Blaine Burgess) in descending OR & WCNOR Sinclair order, on Saturday & Sunday, March 2 & 3, 2019.
.
This video is the 23rd of possibly more videos from this meet, that includes WCNOR (Not Official Results) lifts & Sinclair ratings.
(Note: WCNOR in a video description usually indicates that the video includes Not Official Results (WCNOR) for 1 or more lifters, due to judge’s calling violation(s) of the “elbow rule”. You can read comments encouraging the elimination of “the elbow rule” at: drive.google.com/file/d/1EmPg... . However, this video is shown as WCNOR in order to not only show a judged violation of the "elbow rule" (Michael Miller's J3 155 Kg lift), but to also give credit where credit is due for one lifter who was officially shown with a zero Total, due to having made at least one Snatch lift, but who missed all 3 CJ attempts. Note: We teach our children that any number plus zero equals the number, it does NOT equal zero, so Blaine Burgess is given credit where credit is due, for his successful S3 143 Kg lift.
And as an additional thought for consideration regarding the "elbow rule",, note that there is no “knee rule” regarding the bending of the knees after initially jerking the weight overhead. Is there any real difference, in principle, of the bending of the elbows after initially jerking the weight overhead, as long as the lift is successfully controlled overhead until the down signal is given? Even the legendary Tommy Kono was totally against the "elbow rule" due to its ease of being subjectively and inconsistently misapplied (both too strict and too lenient), and felt that press-outs should be allowed.
Also, most importantly, by including missed lifts in this video, the lifters are able to better see how to improve in the future.
