@Nahimmasleep yes, there are definitely my good day(s) but it'll last for less than 12 hours and the next day when I try to apply the same routine, I feel exhausted and question myself. I'm in no way to opt for a short cut because my time is limited and I'm rn at a critical stage of my life which is getting into the colleges via entrance exams. So I guess, for me, like Amy said, it's Push Through, even if I can't keep pushing. But thanks tho abt the Kobe Bryant mentality !! ✨️✨️

@Itsme-sv8ny I shouldn't even have thought of commenting such a thing, because when you read that, you'll probably go like, 'yeah I'm not alone' which is alright and common and too obvious to deny. But let me tell you, I've got my productive days which lasts like 5 hours and I'm sure you've got yours too. Since our problems are quite the same, let's apply the progress > pace + the old wise Chinese proverb. You've got this fella ✨️✨️

My husband casually told me this comment when I was starting my running journey: "You can do anything for five minutes." I now love gaslighting myself with this quote... I will tell myself I can do ANYTHING for five minutes... Ten minutes... An hour... It has really helped me in many parts of my life!
@Zay-qd7jj

wait this is actually smart…if you tell yourself to do something for five minutes you’ll probably end up doing it for longer because it’s harder to start something you don’t want to do than finish it when you’re already halfway through. 💯

I work with kids and this is exactly how we get them to try stuff even if they don’t want to and that’s how discovered it. It’s also a great way to get yourself to do things like “what’s one math problem” and you end up finishing the entire sheet! I love this tip

To anyone struggling with studying and mental health: be gentle to youself, try to appreciate every little progress. Try to really rest even if that may be hard for you, it will get better. Try to reduce screen time, move your body, even if it's just a little walk. And try to look at the things you need to learn with curiosity instead of pressure. Also I recommend watching this video: “how to study, when you are struggling with mental health” by fayefilms. All this can be very hard if you're struggling, I find it really hard very often. But dont give up and think you're just lazy or beat yourself up for not being good enough. You are good enough! You're brain just keeps telling you otherwise. Try to make little changes in your routine and your mindset. It's not a quick fix but it can definetly change your life, little by little! Good luck with you journey!

My problem with studying is not that I’m too tired to study but too stressed to study. I always get stressed when I have to study because I have this negative mindset that says “you’re gonna fail anyway”. This is where I leave everything.

Honestly, I feel that! I’ve been trying to change my mindset and talk myself into believing I can do better. When I notice I’m quitting because I know I can’t get it anyways, I tell to myself, I’m not there YET but I’ll work hard to make it. or I try to remind myself that practice makes progress and I’ll get there! Wish me luck, this is my third semester taking this CS class! I’ll pass it this time!

"Here's some advice for all of you." 1. No matter what, do not leave social science for last moment. Too many chapters will overwhelm you at that time. 2. No need of reference books for theory subjects. If you want to use reference books or question banks then stick to any one of your choice. 3. Give sufficient time to language subjects as well as other main subjects. 4. Weekly revision is vital. 5. Study atleast 2 hours a day. 6. Do not compare yourself with others and don't let them demotivate you. 7. Make sure to have proper food diet so you have energy to work. 8. Pay attention in lectures. 9. You can refer to other people's note but make your notes for yourself. 10. Prepare for tests properly.

Relax, take deep breaths. You've made it this far, haven't you? The grade won't matter in the end. Whether you've learned or not will matter. What's the point of getting Straight-As if you didn't learn anything? If you focus on learning and not grades, I believe things will be much easier.

Thank you!! I am currently at university and am feeling some mild burn out due to it being the final stretch of the second semester of the school year. Also I love the proverb about making some progress but not pushing too hard - my main issue, especially since I have ADHD, is that I do spend too much time procrasinating since it's hard to feel motivated to do work. I really want to get the work done, but sometimes it is very difficult for me to just go-go-go even though that is how I usually work. Thanks again!

Take care of your health! It feels like a waste of time (I definitely did) but the minute I started sleeping 7-8 hrs at night, my mood, motivation, and anxiety all improved (and my weight). It is worth doing homework and studying in between classes, on the bus, or in odd places if it means I can go to sleep on time. If the lethargy is unbearable, you might want to go to the doc if you can, it could be a deficiency or health issue! For me it was adhd. The faster you sort this out, the less time your health will keep you from reaching your potential!

@AnshuKim
@AnshuKim 4 ай бұрын
You can try this 4 step layering process for *actually* understanding instead of memorising- 1.Priming - just do a little bit of research about the topic . How it works and how it connects with other concepts in that chapter( don't make notes, just give it 15 minutes before lectures , maybe make mindmaps if it helps ) 2 .Learning - now you learn about the topic through the lecture or textbook , however you do (here you make notes). 3.Review- this is to review immediately after the study session , or after school or next morning. 4.Revision- now revise the concept after under 3 days , and then just keep reviewing in some time intervals like a week then month . Basically the idea is to learn in layers . First you develop the outline and then you put the information brick by brick , so that the whole thing makes proper sense and stay on the place. Hope it helps,, this is my study system and it works for me. Learned it from jun yuh and Justin sung btw.

Going to bed early, is also a good trick, cause the (stress) hormone cortilso in the body has a circardian rythm that starts to get higher at about 2 in the morning and then has a peak at about 8:30 in the morning, making you more awake and able to focs.

Amy's video couldn't have come at a better time for me. As a student juggling multiple responsibilities, I often found myself too tired to study effectively. However, Amy's practical strategies, such as taking power naps and focusing on active studying, have made a significant difference in my productivity levels. Highly recommended for anyone struggling with fatigue!"

I tried a really useful hack when I had a really reaaaaaaaallyyy big regional final, I was always studying and putting my focus just on study, but I was feeling so tired and so sleepy during noon or after noon so I was just staring at a random place for 10 min without sleeping and doing a single exercise for 10 times and then do another activity other than my phone for 10 minutes, it can be drinking water it can be eating just smth simple, this hack called 10/10/10 idk how it helped me cause I'm a very lazy person but it work and even I'd I didn't get a really good grade it payed off and I didn't fail and that's what it's important cuz I didn't work really hard in the first session and it effected on the second session TvT but I did it🎉 And by the way I really love your videos Amy, I had watches a lot of study videos but yours is really unique🎀

I have a super similar schedule to you! And similar feelings; I find that when I have one day of 0 homework, or very minimal (usually Saturday or Sunday), I’m much better during the week. Also if you can meet with friends one day a week it could help a lot! Ik it fluctuates a lot though, so try to be understanding with yourself :)

Personally, the go-to for me is the non-negotiables. I haven't yet integrated them in my life, but I feel they will be a good choice if you can not prioritize your task accordingly. I also struggle with focusing in class. I have a lot of distractions, such as birds flying outside of the window, or the teacher dropping a pen, or my classmates whispering about something. And I have friends who like don't study at all, which is not convenient because they also distract me. I also often found that playing with my phone is causing me more stress than simply taking a nap or doing something creative, like making a picture out of pieces of colorful paper or sewing. I think I'm going to watch more of your videos. But in the meantime, I have to make my non-negotiable list😊

The video is basically: prioritize (figure out what is important for you, cut things out that are keeping you away from achievibg your goals (example people pleaser)) Be disciplined ( even if you don't want to or feel tired push trough your schedule, because if you don't -> no food on the table a.k.a missarable life) Basically what everyone of us know, but fails when it comes to implementation

The game changer for me when studying theory/boring material is to get Chat GPT to explain each concept to me. This way, you're not just reading and trying to memorize things but you're actually comprehending everything, and this way, it's way easier to remember it. It also helps a lot with difficult exams because you can come up with the answer through logic rather than having to dig definitions out of your brain. It's sounds like it would take extra time to go through Chat GPT rather than simply reading the textbook but it saves me days of revision. Once you understand a concept, it stays with you forever.

Wamy I wanted to say this you from very long time can you make a short on 'Mantra' like when we are tired if we read that we need to be like yeah why am I doing like this should be studying right now I am just get pumped up. Because I found out that those little lines you are telling in the middle of videos just make super sense. So anything like a pledge for yourself to keep on going. we should be able to tell that as soon as we wake up in the morning and whenever we feel tired.
