She's in the wrong, but she isn't the "villain" in the story. You can tell because characters say shit like "They'll never know what you lost" and that carries over into DSitMoM. It's very clearly not well thought out.

ahahhaha its all because of the legal mess between disney/marvel and sony, sony had the rights of the xmen stories, and concepts, but not that much of extended charachters, wanda and pietro/quicksilver are mutants, they are the sons of Magneto, but at the time they were introduced in MCU, disney didnt had any copyright agreement to use concepts about "mutants", but didnt exclusive rights for the characters wanda and pietro, so disney had an idea "lets use the charachters but messed up their origins" so the infinity stones, but since spider man home coming, sony and disney legal agreements over marvel properties rights advanced much much more, so now the MCU is more permissive of using xmen concepts at some time disney/marvel even decided to kill the xmen franchise althoughter to weaken the property for sony, but to me the most bizarre implications from this was when: the character simultaneously appeared in as: - Aaron taylor johnson in marvel age of ultron - and as Evan peters in sony x-men days of future past this stuff was totally bizarre, Maybe you already know this whole mess but i will let it commented for some people that still are confused by it

@@codroby8201 i believe the explanation is that she was born with some form of power/mutation and she unknowingly used a luck hex(?) to stop the bomb from killing her and pietro when they were kids. later when she was experimented on, the mind stone amplified her powers and sort of unlocked them. iirc agatha says something to the effect of “your powers would’ve worn off long ago if not for the experiments”, so do with that what you will

Why? She shouldn't be a villain yet in MoM. In fact, in the behind the scenes for MoM, Michael Waldron, the writer, flat out admits the original plan was to have her convert to villainy slowly *over the course of The Dr. Strange Movie* (Which became MoM) to be a proper villain in the next Avengers. but then 2 drafts were thrown out then he complained to the studio to make Wanda the villain because "it would be cooler" or something. I repeat - *Wanda was not originally the villain of Dr Strange 2.* She was ham-fisted into that role at the last possible second because the writer wanted to hog the glory of writing the Scarlet Witch- the writers of the MCU have no discipline. ____________________________________ But lets talk about this for a second, because It seems you believe this is just a proper characterization: How the fuck do we go Phase 3 wanda who's clearly just trying to protect people To This Wanda (Who's portrayed as making a mistake out of sheer ignorance) To a violent, sadistic psychopath slasher villain who sends interdimensional monsters to kidnap and murder children + brutally everyone who gets in her way? And why do characters keep acting as if the way she behaves in Wandavision was some galiant act of self-sacrifice Did you watch MoM? Do you see how ruthlessly evil she is? And don't try to argue the Dark Hold is corrupting her, because she's clearly able to make measured personal decisions in that film - including allegedly "Being nice" enough to send an interdimensional hentai monster after America (and killing many innocents in the process) Instead of dreamwalking to get her herself. Wanda's characterization is clearly missing extra steps. It oozes in the writing of both these projects. Yes, her character much like everyone else in Phase 4 has been assassinated

Disney doesn't care about art, heart of the material and cinema. MCU butchered so many characters and everything is ignored. When a good CBM movies come out brainwashed MCU fans wont understand it. Also, Disney+ platform ruined one of the best CBM shows - Daredevil.

@Antisocial Freak Capt. Marvel and Rey Skywalker are the first 2 that come to mind. I’m sure there’s more tho. Even if Capt Marvels movie did explain why she’s so jacked, that doesn’t excuse the fact that she is a Mary Sue.

@@CinemaSleuth yo could I just ask why you didn’t like MOM, bc after Loki and Wanda vision most of your criticisms are explained by that movie, phase 4 is more just one off movies and shows but still tie into the overall universe. Ig I might be the odd one out bc a lot of people don’t enjoy the mcu but the universe expanding with all these concepts and characters are fascinating to me.

@@jaydenmedina5533 Haven't quite formulated all my thoughts on it yet, but from what I did pick up on, the film just has no consistency whatsoever. They invent new rules for magic in almost every scene, characters act bizarrely, and the stakes for the MCU officially can't get any higher from there. It's a lot to get into. Maybe that will be next for me after No Way Home.

Well-written in how they tie into the MCU, but they play things a little light for my taste and take some pretty big creative liberties with the character that I'm not the biggest fan of. Working on a review of No Way Home so stay tuned.
