Agatha is a witch and the backstory is real. Wanda created this world and Agatha sensed that place and wants Wandas power.

In this chapter we realize that Wanda has been miserable almost all her life, she grew up in a country at war, a bomb killed her parents and she spent two days next to their bodies waiting for their death, her brother died and in her worst moment . Vision was there for her, but when Vision died she had no one, it's too sad, that's why she clings so much to her reality in Wesview.🥺🥺🥺🥺

The reason for this episode is to show that Wanda did not purposely create the hex and her control over the people is not a conscious decision. It was all from feeling grief then spontaneous generating the hex.

I never understood when people say that Billy/Tommy and Vision aren’t real or are imaginary. She created them using magic. Sure, it wasn’t natural but she created them nevertheless. They were given life and therefor they all have their own thoughts, emotions, etc.

Wanda is a powerful reality warper. She warped reality to bring vision back and notice that she also brought back the mind stone in his forehead. That’s how powerful she is.

How could you not show the reaction to the most important line ever written… “What is grief, if not love persevering?”

It's very simple. Vision's "Soul" existed inside Wanda, by virtue of their shared connection to The Mind Stone. Hayward has Vision's actual body, reanimated via Wanda's Hex Powers energizing the drone. You can guess where this is going . . .

Here are some things from this episode that you didn't talk about at your discussion and others that kind of flew over your head: 1. We got confirmation that Wanda's powers weren't given to her by the Mind Stone, rather, by her dormant witch trait, and therefore concluding that she is a person of magical birthright. The infinity stone just unlocked and amplified her innate magical abilities and magical energy. This is already a direct reference to the latest retcon of her comic-version character. In the comics, she and her brother had spent a long time knowing and being mutants until a 2016 solo comic series of hers revealed that they were children of a powerful witch named Natalya Maximoff, who took on the moniker "Scarlet Witch" before her and after a mentioned grandfather (Scarlet Warlock). 1.2 This episode just confirms my previous statement because, Wanda wasn't able to use her power on Agatha because there were engraved runes on the walls of the basement they were in - preventing any magic users, save for the caster, to use magic. This gave us the conclusion that Wanda's power is magical in nature. And to further reinforce this, if you noticed, Wanda was still able to use her telepathic ability (mind reading) even though she couldn't conjure her magical energy. How? Well, there was a theory that her telepathic and telekinetic abilities might have been given to her by the MInd stone, while her red energy is laced with that of an infinity stone, increasing the magnitude of its effect. Since the nature of the 6 infinity stones' energy is cosmic, while her red energy is magical. 2. The confusion behind whether her family is real or not. These can be explained in two different perspectives: 1. If a non-magical person were to perceive this alternate reality of Wanda and interact with it, they would say 'it is REAL'. Because they can still physically interact with her own version of Vision and their kids through touch. Suffice to say, they are still tangible. What's more baffling is their growing awareness that Wanda can't keep at bay. It's already pointed out in Darcy's theory in episode 5, "If those props, and sets, and wardrobe are solid matter, that would mean she's wielding an insane amount of power." Her power is rewriting reality. It's not just to completely change what is already there, but also make something that hasn't been there before. She is creating matter using her magical energy as the basis - just like how she created their house, vision and possibly her kids. A memory and desire made real. What's even more terrifying is that this alteration can be permanent if Wanda desires it so. This sitcom reality is a collection of so many spells cast all at once that can be kept on autopilot. She doesn't need to constantly feed it with her magical energy and keep her focused on it. That is both astonishing and terrifying for someone who doesn't know anything about magic and realize how complex and big the spectacles she displayed 😬. 2. But if a magical person/being were to perceive and interact with this alternate reality that she created, they would say it's Not Real. Because even though they possessed physical forms and are indeed real matter, they are still created by magic (magical constructs). A magical person would know that because they will be able to sense Wanda's magic essence radiating from her family and the house. Therefore, they are not real in a sense that they weren't conceived in a natural way. So, it is not right to say that her alternate reality is just a construct of her imagination, because it's more than just her imagination. Just like what Monica said, "It's not an illusion..." 3. Chaos Magic. According to Wanda in the comics, this is the first and the most powerful form of magic that allows its user to tap into the chaotic forces of the universe, which can then be used to rewrite the natural order of things. According to her, the nature of this magic is not creation nor destruction, it is something both. This is Wanda's source of power, other than her status as a Nexus Being. That earns her a spot to 'The Most Powerful Beings in the Entirety of Marvel'. 4. Her being called the Scarlet Witch. This is a pretty big deal for Marvel, specifically Wanda fans because this is the first time she is called the Scarlet Witch. We only see this alias of her in the post credit scene (in the CAST part) of every movie she appeared in. Now, we get to call her by this 'funny nickname' 😄.

What's hard to understand about Agnes? Agnes is an evil witch and wants wanda's power. I'm not sure they can make it anymore clear without having her speak a line like "I want your power". Lol

You've probably realised by now, but the commercials were all about milestones in Wanda's life. The toaster made the same beeping as the missile that you see in this episode (and was "by Stark Industries"), Strucker was the head of the Hydra facility where Wanda and Pietro got their powers, Lagos was where Wanda accidentally caused several deaths while saving the city from a bomb, magic was for survivors (she's the only one of her family who survived) and the world (at least Westview) really is all about her.

This episode is the first time Wanda is officially named Scarlett Witch. I also want to clarify that yes, she is the one behind all of that but she is right when she doesn't understand how she did it she basically had a mental breakdown and created her world spontaneously. She was just devastated and that's why the Hex is not a morally right thing but she didn't do it out of malice nor was she being controlled.

Why can't these two realize that Wanda literally created vision, I mean Agatha said she's a being capable of spontaneous creation at the end of the episode.

COMMERCIALS: 1. The toaster. It was in black and white except for that glowing red dot and the noise it made, as the woman glanced over at it with nervous eyes and a fake plastered smile....because it was a traumatic reminder of the missiles/bombs that killed her parents and almost killed her and her brother. 2. Strucker Hydra watch...the man who used the Scepter on her and Pietro making them go a little nuts. 3. Hydra soak...easter egg for fans that watched Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D of which a character mentioned that Hydra had a blue soap that could erase your mind and make you forget. In this case, Wanda wanted to forget all the bad stuff. 4. Lagos Paper towels: just before that commercial Hayward was debriefing everyone and mentioned the places that the Avengers were accused of causing destruction. In Civil War Wanda couldn't contain the direction of the explosion when she was pushing it up and away from Steve Rogers, and the explosion caused casualties in the building. The commercial tag line: "Lagos, paper towels. For when you make a mess you didn't mean to." 5. Nexus anti depressants: later confirmed that it was an attempt of Dr. Strange trying to get through to Wanda to remind her of who she is and what she's doing. But it didn't break through to her. Oddly, it was Agatha that actually forced Wanda to face her grief head on and it seemed to help the process faster. MONICA RAMBEAU: in the comics, she is also born with the X gene which also makes her a mutant. Going through Wanda's radiation barrier a few times activated her dormit powers. My theory is she's been aware that there was something different about her because she was unfazed by the results from her lack of results from the Xray machines and bloodwork. I think maybe she and her mom, Maria were on a mission together, in space where they were exposed to space radiation. Monica adapted, but her mother got cancer. Also, the Infinity stones were made up of the radiation blasts that created the Big Bang at the same time. Those stones were used throughout the galaxies by bothThanos and Bruce. The 3rd time Thanos only used them on themselves. They sent out waves of radiation with those stones. Some beings may have had their super powers awakened. Others it may have taken a few more runs...like Monica. She did the superhero landing so...that's proof right there. Lol😂 You've probably been told this, but Evan Peters ( fake Pietro) played Quicksilver/Peter in the Xmen Days of Futute's Past, and Xmen Apocalypse. FUN FACT: Evan and the Pietro from Age of Ultron were both in the movie KICKASS together. This was a wink and nod in the Halloween special when the word Kickass was said by Pietro and then slowly repeated by Wanda as if processing the word.

the fake commercial with the Lagos paper towel was a memory reference of Wanda's from Captain America Civil War when the Avengers were in Lagos, Nigeria and Wanda accidentally made a whole floor of a building explode. It was a "mess" that needed "cleaning up".

It’s sad the only therapy Wanda gets comes from Agatha. Such as it is.

Best episode of the show IMO.

Wanda is not innocent of wrongdoing. She should have to atone for what she's done to Westview's citizens. But there are elements of severe PTSD in her, and while that doesn't wipe it all away, it's a mitigating factor. And ultimately, the cold hard truth is, for someone with her kind of power, you're better off trying to redeem them and bring them back into the fold, than to go all fire-and-brimstone and try to be Justice WIthout Mercy.

Vision is Sentient because Wanda is a reality warper, “spontaneous creation”- Agatha. She can create anything at will. Same when it was stated “Wanda’s twins are hers, everything might seem fake out here but everything in there is real” -Monica in Episode 5. So in short everything she makes is real until she herself writes it out of existence.

Honestly, being confused is valid XD Still, Agatha is real and is her own person. The implication of this episode is that Agness felt the surge of magic and came here to take the power from the person responsible. Either way, you've got Wanda doing all of this in a massive surge of grief, not understanding what happened at first, and a lot of the glitches that have been happening were Agness' fault. Don't take me as saying that what Wanda has done is right or good... it's more to say that it is her brain playing around with power that it has no real way of understanding or consciously controlling at the time. Fundamentally, Wanda is a ridiculously overpowered being. Heck, she was able to shatter an infinity stone. But she has never learned how to actually put her abilities to proper use with any kind of fine control. Doesn't make her any less dangerous... if anything, it makes her more dangerous.

Like Tony stark is iron man, Wanda’s comic book name is the scarlet witch. They just made that reveal a long drawn out process until they officially name it.

Wanda already had her powers even when she was young hence Agatha called her young version a baby witch. The Mind Stone just amplified her powers to an extent that no one can imagine.

Loki, falcon and winter soldier, and hawkeye is a must watch. There is no second season of WandaVision, but WandaVision goes straight into Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of madness. There are a few movies in between those series, you need to watch. Doctor Strange, Spider-Man,shang chi. There are a few movies and shows that didn’t do well as far as viewership goes, but still worth watching. Those include the Eternals and she hulk. Also the what if series even though it’s animated it is really worth watching, but make sure you watch everything in order before you watch what if. Great reaction.

Lagos is a city. Lagos, Nigeria, where at the start of Civil War, Wanda contains an explosion from blowing up Captain America and a crowd of spectators, and throws the explosion upward.... where it takes out a few floors of an office building, during the workday. It's a haunting memory for Wanda.

15:02 that line always hit me so hard…It sends me right back to that crushing moment in Infinity War when Vision tells Wanda she could never hurt him and “I just feel you.” Reassuring Wanda with the same words she spoke to him when we first caught up with them earlier in the same film. “I can’t feel you.” One of the greatest MCU callback lines. Remember it.

At the end when it was all a set piece. That was Wanda as she realized it was a false reality. The manipulation of her surrounding was a symbolic and fun way to show that considering the first few episodes were filmed in front of a ljve audience.

And at the end... Yes, Monica did say everything inside the hex is real. Also... Agatha said something like "spontaneous creation" or something like that. In mythology for example there is the "golem." What is a golem? it is an animated creature... usually created from clay or mud, made alive? In many stories "things" are brought to life... and maybe even a soul is inserted in it. In one story there is the "homunculus" ... in another, a wooden puppet becomes a real boy (maybe, I don't know how it ends). In another story a suit of armor becomes host for someone's soul (maybe). In Dogma there is that smelly creature. These are examples of beings brought to life, created or manifested. Vision himself came to life in that episode with Ultron. Darcy explained how Vision came into being (Ultron's vibranium body created by Dr Helen Cho's "cradle" incorporating the mind-stone and Jarvis... and brought to life by Thor's hammer, oh yea.) From what we've seen, Wanda's kids according to Monica are real... and in fact we saw how they came to be, how they were born. They also appear to have powers of the twins Wanda and Pietro. As seen in previous episodes. I'm enjoying the reactions - waiting to see how it ends.

The ad said "Lagos - For when you make a mess but didn't mean to...". 😢 The Tesseract - Space Stone The Ether - Reality Stone The Orb - Power Stone The Sceptre - Mind Stone Sacrifice - Soul Stone Eye of Agamotto - Time Stone This storyline was taken from the Vision Quest story arc in West Coast Avengers by writer/artist John Byrne. In it the Vision is kidnapped, dissected and then reassembled. As a result his red skin became white making him look more like a ghost. He had all of his memories but none of the emotions. Ultimately leading to him and Wanda breaking up. 😢

The mind stone was the stone that gave Wanda & her brother there powers, it was in Lokis Septor

Loki's scepter had mind stone. Remember in Age of ultron, ultron put the stone on the head of the body creating vision. But before that sceptre was used on wanda and pietro. So a part of mind stone lives in wanda hence this 'dead or fake' Vision is part of mind stone in wanda.

In the comics, Wanda was born a Witch. A witch, unlike a sorcerer like Strange, is born with magic. Also, in the comics, when Wanda was born, she was "blessed" by the demon Chthon, who gave her Chaos Magic. a magic capable of rewriting reality. In short: Wanda is a born witch who gained chaos magic from Chthon. This makes her very powerful. Due to his ability to alter reality, he can create life out of nothing, she used this to create Vision and the Twins on the Serie

Vision is an extension of the MIND STONE, not Wanda's subconcious. Wanda has part of the mind stone in her, thats how vision is sentient in the westview show. The mind stone itself is sentient. You are correct, there are 2 different villians in the show. Agatha wants Wanda's powers bc she's the scarlett witch. Hayward wants his own vision murder bot bc he's a psycho. Agatha essentially invaded wanda's tv world to try to learn how wanda made the westview anomally. Wanda couldnt remember what triggered it, thats why Agatha was trying to jog her memory. It is kinda confusing on first watch. They dont really do a good job explaining it, so i dont blame u for being confused still😂

Yes this episode revealed a lot of things. 1) Hayward edited video footage to make it look like Wanda stole Vision's body from the S.W.O.R.D. facility, when in fact she'd left his disassembled body behind. 2) The hex was a spontaneous creation on Wanda's part- not something she did intentionally. Her powers were suddenly released in a moment of grief that transformed the town, manifested her deepest subconscious desires. It was a self-contained reality where she was all-powerful (or close to it- she did have limits). As we saw when Wanda expanded the hex to save Vision, her control started to fail, the TV show reality started glitching and people/things farther from the center of town were barely moving. 3) Wanda was born a witch, but didn't know it. Her latent powers (again, operating subconsciously) are what saved her and her brother from the Stark bomb. 4) Wanda's exposure to the mind stone amplified her abilities, resulting in powers she could consciously control (telekinesis and telepathy). So the mind stone DID give her powers, but she already had others which she just didn't know about, and couldn't consciously control. 5) The hex was a pocket reality where Wanda could do anything, but her completely conjured creations are only real inside of the hex. So physical items that already existed which were altered by Wanda's power continue to exist outside the hex. For example, Monica's 1970s clothes, the SWORD drone and land rover- their molecular structure was rearranged but they're composed of the same physical matter they always were, so they continued to exist after leaving the hex. But Westview Vision was created from nothing but Wanda's memories using chaos magic, she didn't transform any existing thing/person to make him. So when he forced his way outside of the hex, he was returning to nothingness.

Here are some non-spoiler facts about Wanda vision. The hex vision with their kids are real Wanda created them out of nothing using chaos magic. That's what brought Agatha to Westview. There's no official details on chaos magic but it works similar to the reality Stone just think of Wanda is a living reality Stone and the Scarlet witch is a mythical being made of chaos magic. Haywood motivation is not evil it's more about protection against super powered individuals. The MCU is it going to take a shift into negative territory similar to the X-Men movies where is Man versus super powered people and I hat twisted up with fear of the unknown. If you didn't catch on Wanda was a witch before coming in contact with the infinity stone. All the infinity stone did to Wanda with amplified what would have died out because she didn't practice her witchcraft not realizing she was a witch. If you're wondering about Quicksilver he was not a witch but he had that witch trait which was mutated by the infinity stone so Quicksilver was a mutant like the X-Men accept the X-Men are a team of mutants not a representation of the entire mutant species.

I think Hayward originally let her in the lab because he saw her pain and wanted to give her closure so she would let vision go.He wanted visions tech to create a weapon but it backfired with her creating Westview and he couldnt proceed with his plans till she was destoyed.

As far as Hayward, i agree with what seems to be S.W.O.R.D's policy of not handing over and dismantling his body. If she just stuck him in a grave somewhere, even in relative secret; his body would be a target for every wanna-be super villain out there. We already know that because of the Chitauri invasion alone, that high tech weaponry is everywhere, imagine what could be built using JUST the Vibranium Vision is made of. The kid aging thing is a sitcom thing. That's what every show does when they use babies in a show. They age them up for plot reasons and because of the law of how many hours babies and kids can be used because of child labor laws. Agatha already said at the beginning of her conversation with Wanda that she saw all those spells going up and had to come and investigate to see what and who was responsible. She's jealous and is basically grilling Wanda to discover how she did it and the source of her power. She wants it. Wanda's grief is what ignited her power burst of making that fake world. She didn't comprehend what she did until she got glimpses of reality shown to her. She spent her life finding comfort in sitcoms to escape the tragedies of her life, especially after that missile killed her parents and almost killed her and Pietro. She mentally escapes those traumas with the shows, like she was trying to convince herself while seeing the episode of the Dick Van Dyke show, and was in shock and denial about what just happened to her parents. Coping mechanism. Every time something or someone reminded her of her reality or challenged it, her magic would cause a distraction to make it stop. Mr. Hart was aggressively asking them why were they there. I think it was a part of the real person breaking through and angrily asking why are they there messing with their lives. ( basically, why are you here doing this to us) Wanda subconsciously made him choke to make it stop... Then, Wanda looked confused as to not comprehend what's going on. The wife was under Wanda's control to play her role, but once her husband started to choke, she tried to communicate her panick through the forced behavior Wanda had her do as a sitcom character. It turned into a twilight zone episode. If you look closely at how the camera angle switched when Mrs. Hart is repeating herself. She's first looking at him, then as the panick rises as he keeps choking, her body slightly shifts towards Wanda and she is begging her through her fake smile to STOP IT! Wanda is a telepath and she sensed the urgent panick. It's like some reality of the wife's emotions snapped her back momentarily and she told Vision to help him. Out the gate, Vision was under her control, but he is a synthisoid being created from different computerized elements and geniuses (Mindstone, Tony, Bruce, Jarvis, and maybe even a little bit of Shuri. This means he is always trying to solve a situation and figure things out. Each episode he got wiser to what was happening. Everytime he got close Wanda subconsciously distracted with a rewrite switch up or something/someone outside their scene. Agatha has been keeping track of everything to know her cues of when to play along just to get Wanda with her defenses down to manipulate and cause more confusion so she could sus out how Wanda did it all. She was like glue to Wanda's side. Wanda's mental state made her confused but complacent to keep it going, as long as she could stay in her happy sitcom bubble. When Wanda had the twins she ended up reminscincing about her brother, which is another traumatic experience for her. When she did, her mind was distracted by her reality, which meant that whomever was closest in proximity had Wanda's spell momentarily lifted. When she started singing the baby song in her native tongue, look closely at Monica. She looked like she was coming out of a haze from the spell. Her mind was her own and then she blurted out something she remembered from the paperwork she got on Wanda's backstory of her brother being killed by Ultron. Wanda asked her who she was and then Monica seemed confused by the question and said she didn't know. Wanda was starting to put her defenses back up. At that point Monica was in between knowing and not knowing what was going on, and then Wanda was very threatening, scaring Monica. She put a force field around Monica when she pushed her out the Hex, so Monica didn't feel the painful force of the buildings, just the landing impact. Wanda's American accent was being flipped back and forth even before this show. People on social media commented on it, but the show brought attention to it and revealed that it was her trying to fit into the world she wanted to ( like the happy American sitcoms)and escape that which reminded her of her tragic life. Escapism. That's why her accent came out when she left the Hex dressed in her Avengers costume. The Heart on the calendar in episode one that neither could figure out was not about the boss, it was about the heart and message put on the Deed for their home he bought for them to build and live in together. In the case of Gamma radiation that would be Peter Quill in his mother's womb, since Ego made sure it was in her body for him to later manifest...that includes Steve Rogers with the formula and the radiation chamber he was put in. Bruce Banner may be a descendant of a Deviant because he turns into a super strong and indestructible monster...along with his Cousin She-Hulk who may have half Eternal blood and half Deviant blood, but more on that later. BTW, Thanos is a Deviant who was created, not birthed, by two Celestials who also made themselves bodies.

Agatha is a real character from marvel comics. She has a long history, although when I read her she was never evil. In fact she actually took care of Reed Richard's son. I don't like the new Wanda as much as the Wanda I grew up with, who had chaos magic, yes, but she wasn't as powerful as they make her now. I could live with that if they would let her grow naturally into her power. But it seems so accelerated. When I was a kid, the avengers could be getting their asses kicked and Wanda might throw a hex and literally anything could happen when she did that. She was a wild card. The way they would write it in a comic was " probabilities run amok." She didn't know why it happened or what would happen but it often worked. I thought that was cool. But since the '90s, which is have come to be almost always all powerful beings. They could destroy the earth and no one could stop them. I think Buffy was a good example of that. Willow, the teenage witch, gets depressed because her girlfriend dies and nearly destroys the world. No one could stop her until she decided to stop herself this happens way too much in witch stories. By the way, this isn't a spoiler for the story that you're watching but in the comics Wanda casually and angrily kills Agatha for something that was beyond Agatha's control. That's why I don't like Wanda anymore.

I'm not sure why you call Hayward evil. Wanda took an entire town hostage and Hayward has been trying to stop her the entire time. He's a bit ruthless but his intentions are good, he's shown more concern for the people of Westview than Monica. Him working on Vision and trying to get him back online isn't evil either, that's literally his job, SWORD is the Sentient Weapon Observation Response Division, getting Vision back and using him as a weapon against threats to earth is also objectively not a bad thing.
