ANTIBIOTIC RECIPE:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup dried lavender
1/3 cup dried calendula
1/3 dried rose buds
4 TB beeswax pellets
1 tbs raw shea butter
1 TB raw honey (optional)
10 drops tea tree essential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
Directions:
(This recipe yields approximately 8 ounces)
1. Use a double boiler to combine the coconut and olive oil. Allow the coconut oil to melt over low heat. Once melted, add in the dried lavender, calendula and rose buds. Stir to combine and let the herbs infuse for 30 minutes on low heat.
2. After 30 minutes, prepare a small bowl with a coffee filter or cheesecloth. Pour the mixture through the filter, straining out the herbs, with the infused oil in a jar or bowl below.
3. Clean out any of the remaining dried herbs and return the infused oil to the double boiler. Using low heat, add the beeswax, then shea butter, stirring until melted. Add the honey (f using) stirring for about a minute. Turn off the heat and add the essential oils (tea tree and lavender).
4. Pour the mixture into one large jar or two small jars. The mixture will begin to solidify within 5 to 10 minutes and fully set after 15 minutes. If you're using honey, stir every minute or two. Once set, it's ready to use and will keep for 12 months at room temperature.

I go in our backyard, cut a piece of aloe from our aloe plants, rinse, cut the sharp edges off, slice open, apply to cuts, wounds, bug bites, burns, etc., works good every time. Grow your own aloe plants. I was able to cure a loved one bed sore with just aloe. The ointment that her Doctor prescribed for her was not working, seemed to me to like it was making her sore worse. Once I applied the aloe, her sore started healing in days. In about a week, her sore was almost healed, less than two weeks, it was completely healed. Her Doctor was so impressed that she healed so fast.

Hey Cassandra, Great recipe, you can also add some yarrow, Saint John’s wart, lemon balm and forage the herb - self heal - which grows nearly everywhere. You can even add tallow for skin barrier protection. Also a great thing for the herbal medicine cabinet is yarrow powder. It’s good to have around when you cut yourself and need to stop bleeding. 😀

@@katiedavis5861 the herbal academy has a blog that’s free and it’s a great resource. I really like The Modern Herbal Dispensatory by Thomas Easley as a reference book for home use. Mountain Rose has great recipes and information on their site as well. Jan Berry has a few books on soap and body products with recipes that tell you how they benefit your body. She is an herbalist like myself and knowledgeable. Once you start learning what herbs help with different things, you can easily incorporate them into her skincare products. 😀

Instead of using heat and potentially destroying the healthy properties of the herbs, just pack a bunch of the herbs to a bottle of oil and let it sit for a month. If you already made the heated mixture you can use it while waiting on the longer version.

I've never thought of using roses before I usually add plantain along with some of the herbs you suggested. with only lavender these salves can also be used for diaper rash. I keep jars of it on hand at all times and give it away when people come to visit. It's so nice to see other people making good, healthy choices. Thank you!

Rose petals are great for anxiety too! You can tincture them in 100 proof vodka and make a great tonic for calming the body. Great after a long stressful day. Very gentle. Any rose will do…as long as it is free of chemical pesticides of course. Lol!

I am going to make plantain salve and add some lavender essential oil. Don’t have the leaves and I use lavender straight on blemishes and cold sores and they are gone in 1-2 days! I use bag balm on burns but want to have the plantain salve! Super excited as I totally go 100% natural! I rarely used pharm in the past, I am pretty picky and not it’s an absolute NO! I worked in health care for 30yrs! No antibiotics since 1991!!

Thanks for the great video, especially the detailed recipe in the description. Note that in the absence of some kind of an antibiotic cream, honey is a great option. It has been used for thousands of years to heal wounds. It is a natural antibiotic, and it never goes bad. Apparently, Manuka honey is the best for this (though is expensive, if you can find it), but any honey will work. I always buy local honey, because it helps me with my allergies (obviously when eating it, not spreading it on a cut) because the bees use local pollen to make it.
