My husband after 23 years asked for a separation suddenly in June of this year. I realized he is going through a midlife crisis. He is totally a different person and I decided I was going to stand for my marriage. He is currently staying by his friend, but he’s back and forth. I’m currently giving him space and not asking about the relationship. We just talk about general things and sometimes he still shuts down. This has been the hardest thing. Do you have any tips on what I should do. I’m currently in therapy but he doesn’t want to go therapy. One minute he was all in love and the next a light switch went off and he’s a totally different person.

So my wife left me. During our separation, I did some of the needy behavior that pushed her away. I then started working on myself. Still a work in progress, but I’m doing the work. But now she gets upset about my changes. Gets and attitude, makes smart comments and gets really upset by me trying to be different for her and my children. I don’t get the anger and attitude when SHE LEFT? Do you any tips on how to handle that? Thanks.

Honestly, she's mad because you are making the changes and she is not. I would continue to do what you are doing. Because you need to be better for yourself and your children. I know it's hard but sometimes people don't want their spouse to change and then they complain about it. So like I said just work on being the best you, you can be.

What if your trying to mend the marriage, but your spouse is a narcissist?

Then I have to ask the question do you really want to be married to a narcissist? Because they are the type of people that don't take accountability for their actions and will usually put the blame on everyone else.

What if your spouse has an outside child during the marriage and divorce, is there any advice on that situation?

I don't have a video for that. But I know it's something people face. Even though it's a tough subject...I believe anything can be overcome. I'm gonna have to think about this and do a video. Thank you.
