Im just bored at work, and i allmost never ever write comments. The last comment however was a few weeks ago, praising the two singels NB did put out prior to this release. You,reviewer, totally overlooked the fact that Demonaz hadnt been able to play for years (something like between 1997 and 2013). People know what im talking about. However,he never gave up and brings us the second Immortal album without Abbath, and where he plays guitar on the albums again (and sings of course). I know how he felt because i suffered the same kind of trouble with my arm, making it not possible for me to play the drums and guitars (for 3 years only unlike Demonaz),yet being full of musical ideas etc. He managed to get himself healed and was thereby finally able to write new music, and track the guitars himself. Also very important for him,to sing about Blashyrkh. The fictious realm that is a resemblance of the Norwegian wilderness and also of the place where he lives, far outside Bergen. I have a lot of respect for Demonaz for never giving up and for being totally commited to heal in order to play music, and to continue with his lyrical theme. Im 41 now,and we seem to live in a kind of age where people just slander other people when they dislike kind of whatever anyone does. In an online video 😆 ffs. There isnt much respect left. Im doubting the fact you ever listened to Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism,or Pure Holocaust from start to finish. It's funny how you dedicate your time to recording a video totally breaking down something people worked on for quite some time. How about being positive about things,or putting out positive reviews? After all, everything is just a matter of taste. Also,Ice Dale is,if im correct one of his good friends. He feels for Demonaz and is probably proud about his friend, never giving up,and that's why he's on Demonaz side. And the drummer, that very talented guy who's doing an awesome job in Ghaals' Wyrd, would never lend his duties to some useless crap. The bass is so totally audible and is there supporting the rest of the music. When there's no bass,it will sound like Ulvers' Nattens Madrigal ('97),or And Justice For All. How about you make a Norwegian Black Metal album, writing all the music and lyrics, playing guitar, doing awesome vocals and getting a deal on the allmighty Nuclear Blast? HAIL DEMONAZ!! HAIL IMMORTAL!!

Exactly my thoughts. First three songs are average, the last one even lazy but I loved the four songs inbetween and they gave me everything I want from a Demonaz led Immortal album (and Nordlandihr even treading some unexpected ground). Maybe it´s among their worst, but it´s still Immortal and so far they have never let me down (Unlike Abbaths solo album Dread Reaver... Ugh)

Honestly what were you expecting from a Pretty old band that was going through shit for the past couple of years? Were you expecting them to make another „At the heart of winter”? No! The album was a good continuation to Northern Chaos Gods in what the band's sound would be with Demonaz taking the mantle. I personally couldn't stand most of the material with Abbath on vocals because I would not hear the songs over laughing at the thought of Kermit with corpse paint (instrumental part of immortal is usually what I go to this band for). I do agree that there was plenty of room to try something new at least a little and especcially with the instrumental track. The album does not inovate, but then again it in no way has to as Northern Chaos Gods already was a huge change from the previous few albums before Abbath was gone. Overall, I would not at all go to say the album was bad by any stretch but I do get your point of view. I take it as a stepping stone to future territory that Demonaz might try and explore later on

What was the point of having the closing track ending abruptly? I honestly thought I got a defective file from Bandcamp, (no offense!), but the physical disc ends the same. An unfitting end for a song about the throne of the very realm that Demonaz created, imo.

I am a pretty decently big Immortal fan now. I love stuff like Pure Holocaust, Battles in the North, Sons of Northern Darkness and I did think Northern Chaos Gods was a pretty good comeback album but this album was pretty disappointing. Horgh is a pretty damn talented Drummer and his presence is really missed on here to me. Demonaz is my favorite member of the band but this album imo is to far to serious and kinda boring, Abbath gave the band a little more energy and fun to combat the Darkness and keep things engaging. Not horrible imo but this is pretty forgettable 2.5/5. If Immortal wants to make another album I wish Demonaz, Horgh and Abbath would reunite, because this album feels like a ego trip from Demonaz.

Hey man big Immortal gatekeeper here. I actually tend to agree. I still love the album but i did find it was very same same and slightly bland. I feel like I had heard all the acoustic passages on previous songs. It sounded a bit recycled. Nothing was epic. I was expecting the instrumental track to maybe feature some at the heart of winter type synths or something to set it apart from the rest of the songs but it never really took off just came and went like the other songs did. I like Demonaz vocals and I still love the album but you raised some fantastic points. After reading the reviews I was expecting a little more from this album. I'd describe it as very middle of the road. Would have been awesome to see Demonaz experiment a little further and i tend to think his lyrics aren't as elaborate as they were in the 90s I'll be sure to subscribe. Good luck with your channel.

As an Immortal fan, I didn't like it at first. It grew on me, but a lot of it sounded like Demonaz recycled previous Immortal songs. War Against All (song) literally sounds like The B Side of Northern Chaos Gods. War God sounds like a horribly deflated Tyrants and I couldn't care less for the instrumental filler track. The rest are alright. You can definitely hear that Abbath and Horgh are missed in this album.

This should have just been a Demonaz solo album. Much of the material beyond the first few tracks on here sounds very similar to his one solo album from 2010 (which is pretty awesome by the way). Much more epic and melodic than the cold and grim style you'd expect from Immortal. I don't begrudge him slappin the Immortal tag on it though because he'll reach way more people this way. I think Northern Chaos Gods was better, but after two play throughs of this newest offering, I still dig it for what it is.

Demonaz being the sole creative force is a step backwards...it's just like his solo album very repetitive and unmemorable, not terrible or great...just meh. Immortal's legacy pretty much ended in the early 2000's with Sons of Northern Darkness. Too bad these guys couldn't even get along good enough to make music and had to go through legal battles just to retain the name...it's only about money at that point (and probably not even a lot of money). I have heard lots of rumors like Abbath stole all the immortal songs for his first solo record, Demonaz went behind Horgh's back to get the rights to use the Immortal name, etc. Don't know how much truth there is in these rumors...but it's pretty lame that you have all this drama over the years!
