16 күн бұрынUS President Joe Biden has signed a $95bn (£76bn) package of aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
The president said the US would "right away" send fresh weapons and equipment to Ukraine to help Kyiv fend off Russian advances.
He spoke a day after the US Senate approved the aid package following months of congressional gridlock.
Ukraine has recently stepped up its calls for Western assistance as Russia makes steady gains in its invasion.

The war is actually going ok, given that Russia intended to have conquered Ukraine in like a week - and it's now been two years. Every year it drags on is another year that Russia is losing a lot of monetary and military power.

US military aid to Ukraine has likely already been sitting in European NATO countries just waiting for the President's signature for release to Ukraine. The benefit to the US is that the military gives up current and older weapons/weapon systems, while it gets to restock with the most modern technological weapons available today. Additionally, the US military gets to see what works best in countering offensive Russian, Iranian, etc. weapons before any direct confrontation. All in all, this is a win-win for Israel, Ukraine, and the US. JUST SAYING...

I think the delay tactics of the aid is the strategy to keep Russian pumping up men and military hardware and get destroyed or being a cannon fodder. I guarantee you the US military did not wait for President Biden to offically sign Ukraine aid bill to begin shipping aid supplies to Ukraine. By next week Ukraine forces should be fully supplied on the front lines. Extra equipment may take a few weeks, but most need supplies should be in country in days.

My good name is Durgesh and my sympathy is with the people of Ukraine in their struggle for freedom. Most people in my India do not share the same sentiment as me and support Russia. I live in Goa and there's a significant number of tourists in my state and I came up with this strategy to collect funds for the people of Ukraine with my American friend. She pretends to be a Russian and wears a shirt with the "I ❤ INDIA" logo and alternately, I wear a shirt with the "I ❤ RUSSIA" logo. Both of us look like a INDIA-RUSSIA couple and we go from door to door to collect funds. People were happy to give donations to us because they thought that they were helping Russia. So far, we have collected a sum of 419,730$ and 80% of it is have been donated to Ukraine. The rest of 20% are used for our utilities. Not only this, we also keep a DONATION BOX to 29 temples and 17 other mosques. We open the donation boxes on every alternate day and it makes up more than 45% of our funds. Honestly, I feel that me and my American friend are doing something good.

In Russian 2024 budget 40% of all spending goes to military, while budget for social security was cut (for comparison, USA spends around 12% of its federal budget on military, which is already a lot, but not even close to Russia).

@@favesongslist NATO isn't telling Ukraine to win. Ukraine is choosing to fight and asking for assistance from countries to assist them. Currently that assistance has been limited to logistics, training and planning to my knowledge. Yes that could change at some point and result in involvement justified on similar grounds to Kosovo. But I don't think the UN or NATO yet believe that is necessary. And I'm dubious if a vote by NATO members would reach a consensus here, but just my guess. There is also a chance that a coalition independent of NATO will choose to become more directly involved in the conflict, but I'm doubtful as it would essentially invalidate the Article 5 protections of NATO if they choose to do so.
