The Wars of the Roses was "between the Yorks and the people who were not the Yorks". That makes good sense!

I tried reading his caesar books, and my interest in it went dry. The main characters were just not that interesting.

His Caesar books are easily his weakest. They're also his first. Try his mongol series before dismissing him!

As a Historian I absolutely loath Iggulden´s books since they give the impression that they are historical novels when in fact they are Fantasy in a historical setting. Read his Genghis and Caesar books and the re-writing of history is unreal. He clearly is a fine author though, I just think that History is maimed enough already and that pushing his work as "Historical novels" goes beyond all that is okay. Maybe he is more clear nowadays(haven´t read him for 10+ years) so if he´s clear that it is *Fantasy in a historical setting* I´ve have no complaints.

ya he lets you know that he makes up a lot of things here in these books

They're historical fiction. Nobody is claiming that they're historically accurate. And I don't think he has any fantasy elements in his books.

@@B.LEE.DbrianleedurfeeREVIEWS It would be really great if you could make a top tier list of action paced historical fiction such as Conn Iggulden. Its easy to find alternative to fantasy versions. But historical fiction tends to end up relationship focused rather than adventure.
