Talking a little bit on how I fly with the Tomcat, flying high or low, right times to jump enemies or run, etc!

You are launching your phoenixes away to early. 45km is a decent range if you are at 7000m+ altitude. Climb as high as possible and after launching cut your throttle to 0% so no trail and crank and dive. Hopefully the enemy will not notice the launch because the missile trail starts where you cut the trail of your own engines. Keep TWS track till missile is about 15km from collision. To have better chances shoot at someone who is in the middle of the pack at mid/low altitude. People at the front and climbers tend to be more aware and will defend

Thats cool and all but… today i just got shot down because some nerd launched all six, yes, six of his phoenixes at me. I was flying low to the ground and turning to avoid phoenix splash damage when they hit the ground below me, but I cant turn fast enough to get away from the 3rd-6th missiles and the splash chipped away my airframe. THAT right there is peak f14

tbh i dont have f 14 but i felt like he was launching those way to late, he should be climing as high as piossible and laucnhing them asap and then guide the last one in with the radar but what do i know i only have mig 29. i laucnh r27s at 35-45 km

@@abidbmttthen youre chaffing before they go pitbull. After that you cant use chaff or maneuver to make them lose lock

I roll with 45 mins fuel, 2 Pheonix, 4 AIM-7s and 2 AIM-9s. Climb to no more than 5.5km to not start to leave trail, fire Phonixes at targets that are around 35-40km away while doing mach speed, dive down and it's classic top tier missile jousting.

I find myself firing my phoenix at about 40km and using tws on narrow band because it updates faster therefore better tracking. I also stay just under contrail altitude. I end up faster this way as I am no longer climbing therefore increasing my missiles probability of kill while keeping myself hidden to some extent

another thing worth mentioning when dog fighting is definitely use the canons ballistic computer or the gyro sight and in some cases even using the stealth rounds I get so many kills using it like that, another reason to do this is becuase the Vulcan tends to drop of in round velocity about .6km after fired and it makes some longer shots really hard to lead

i am still a strong proponent of taking 4 aim54c 2 aim7m and 2aim9l. It seems to be working for me since I am ranked in the top 600 players for pvp kills per flyout this month. The f14b might not be "meta" in esport or 1v1 engagements but for getting kills in air rb matches it's the best hands down

yea I kind of agree, while the aim-54 is inconstant I do end up normally getting 1-2 kills a game with it and frankly its the only chance I have fighting against the er, also the sparrows are extremely inconsistent as well and I don't think I'm losing any kills by not taking more

Not the hardest thing to climb the leaderboard tbh, there are less than 500 players averaging 2 kills per flyout which is a surprisingly low number

Idk cuz I like to engage targets after Phoenix, and when I come down I need the 4 7ms and 2 9ls.

2xAim-54C, 4xAim-7M and 2xAim-9L is the correct loadout

+1 on having those 2 Phoenixes on wing pylons! Everyone puts them into mid slots which would be the case only when running 4 or 6.

The only kills I managed to hit with the AIM 54c are the AI bots and the Chinese bots.

How to you lock AIM 7 on hws radar mode?? I try and i cant do it... Every time when i shoot aim 7 its lost lock or miss target....

I have the F-14A only but I can't even get to spade it. Because nearly every game, some braindead moron from my own team lobs 9Ls my way and the bloody plane is hotter than the sun. There's only so much patience I can muster...
