Hey kightmare Ive been playing around with a certain helmith ability you dont like, for gauss, though Id like to know what you think about its effectiveness. So as we know thermal sunder works as a cc armor strip, however certain enemies like demolists are not that great to use with and its a stationary cc. Compared to that Sow doesnt give you the armor strip but it does increase your survivability by being mobile at all times and working for almost all enemies, if you were to compare them, what do you think is more convenient to use.

@@Xul-Xata simple: it does nothing. I wish I was joking, but practically speaking armor is pointless past a certain point, and unless you're nidus or inaros then armor won't help you Unless you mean the enemy armor, in which case ehhhhh......that depends on both armor and the enemy type

Love seeing how many people are complaining about the math. This video isn't the exact way you're supposed to play. This video is specifically for those who want to know the numbers behind the mods in the game to understand EXACTLY how they're modding. For those of you not at steel path yet don't stress yourself over the numbers and math. Throw together a build that makes you happy and makes the game fun and if you're struggling then ask a friend or looking for a modding basics video. This video is for the extremists who wanna min max and melt high level end game enemies. Learn if you're curious, if you don't wanna get too complex then that's also fine. No need to be at each others necks tenno!

To put it simply, "Multiply don't Add". Slap all those multiply mods, add your two elementals for each faction and chose the utility mod of your preference.

Super nice video man. I don’t know why everyone is implying this is hard to understand, structured very well and really clear. TL;DR mods with same description are additive, mods with a different description are multiplicative. Non-elemental mods scale off of their modded base damage. Really really simple

As someone playing since Excalibur prime release, I’m so glad about the contents of this video. Serration and Heavy Caliber has been the mandatory mods for too long and DE finally changed that. Now veteran players still wining about faction mods are living in the past. These damage changes are for the best.

What I got from this video was I don't necessarily need to add serration to my gun to do damage as long as I play to the guns strength and add different multipliers and exploit enemy weaknesses to melt anything in my way got it.

I'm back after a fairly long hiatus and I have forgotten so much stuff. I was a relatively casual player before hand but I am no where near able to kick out this much damage. There's so much to do. To get a certain mod I have to do a full itinerary to plan out all the things I need to do before I can even grind for it. it's so confusing. lol. Feel like it's going to take me years to get good at this game.

Actually, headshot gives you 2x (3x now after buff patch), but if you crit on a headshot, it gives you the base 2x HS multiply by another bonus 2x which is a hidden mechanic.

I like to think of how it works in risk of rain, items that are the same scale together but different items are multiplicative to each other and exponentially increase your damage

Interesting video and nice builds in the end. Do you ever use the Drekar Manic Bombards for your simulacrum tests? I found them to be considerably more tanky than the heavy gunners, but every vid I see on YT people use these heavy gunners or regular bombards. I feel those guys die too fast and it becomes difficult to compare weapon power. Although I understand that you do not encounter the Manic Bombards normally, they survive longer and I find it a little easier to get a feeling of what performs better when I use them. Are heavy gunners (corrupted) the best ones to use for some reason?

Why does the Soma Prime augment Hata-Satya carry over to all the other guns that you test? In the buff window its stuck at 168% and it doesn't appear to be changing.GUI glitch?

Physical damage mods should apply that physical damage type even if it's not on the weapon. This would make them much more viable and is in keeping with the whole idea of modding weapons.

Physical damage has a logic behind it. It is bound to the physical properties of the bullet, arrow, beam, shape or whatever. Imagine if you had a simple hand knife which pierces and slashes and you try to use it for blunt damage. The same is if you use a hammer, you can bash someone's head in, but if you try to slash someone's wrist, you'd have a hard time. On the other hand, elemental damage is simply a property which can be anything... like magic. :)

So what would be the best combos with the multipliers? Crit and Multishot? Status and Base/Faction? Crit and Base? Status and Multi? I kind of understood the decimals and the points of where dmg gets multiplied but the combination part I dont think I understood with your builds. Also are primers supposed to add more status to increase Damage based off Mods like condition overload? Or is overload the Primer?

Its a case by case basis what mods you use depends on the weapon. If i use the nataruk as an example( new war bow) You want crit chance and crit damage, flat damage(serration/arcanes) multishot(more arrows fired) element(heat or viral or slash(hunter munitions)) and land headshots for headshot multiplier. And if you want extra you can run faction mods reduce the enemies armour with corrosive projection mod, or use a primer and apply corrosive element and or heat to further reduce armour.

Well, we just putting rank 0 cold/toxin to proc viral, not to do viral damage. Viral status effect increase damage on health, putting 10 stacks of viral on a single target increase your damage over 300%. We want Rank 0 mods to not over-proc viral, because we want slash to proc on the enemy for the bleeding which does all the damage. So viral will be there not to do damage but just to increase damage of the bleeding, and as you wanna proc more slash than viral, you put unranked mods

The elemental dmg distribution affects the status procs of the weapons. So if you have more viral dmg it would proc more viral status, which you don't need much since it caps at 10 stacks and the one actually doing most of your dmg is fire procs(assuming you meant the Phantasma build).

Lets say my weapon does 123 slash dmg, and I make it have 124 viral dmg, since viral has more damage it is going to appear more than slash. The main use of viral is to make slash do more dmg to the enemy so we want to put more slash than viral on the enemy

I have been playing this game since day 1 and I still don't fully understand the damage formulas. It baffles me that above all this is a GAME and they made it so unnecessarily complex in so many aspects, it is insane the idea that this was too much didn't cross their minds and the worst thing is that they could, at the very least, specify SOME of this in the tooltips ingame but they dont smh

Thermal Sunder Titania build. Put Gauss's helminth ability on Titania then build for range without tanking strength. Also, I'd recommend doing capture missions for cracking relics since they tend to be faster.

4:24 you say that if the weapon has no slash the slash mods do nothing, if there is a mod on the weapon that converts certain procs to slash, do slash mods still do nothing? (not sure if dumb or good question)

slash still does nothing, physical damage mods dont have their damage increased by physical damage mods

it is an upgrade with 25k standing to cephalon simiaris, that show vulnerabilities of mobs once scanned enough, cool for early / mid players that don't know weaknesses or people that just don't spend their life on the wiki like me xd
