The K Drives are an absolute joy. I’m still flopping around like a tazed sloth trying to master steering the damn thing, but even if I clothesline myself on a pipe or face plant into a mountain I’m having a blast.

It's no Skate 4, but I guess it'll have to do.

I like the introduction of K-Drives. The 3k max for linking tricks is wack tho. Not being able to link tricks after on or after hitting the ground is mental too; you always have to be looking out for a rail or pipe. I've noticed too that after getting points from tricks, if you become airborne like from a tiny jump or falling even a fraction of a meter, the points get negated.

You know there should be a seperate map , where many players can race eachother ....that would be awesome ASF

There’s a better spot. Just outside the elevator into Fortuna, if you take a left and turn around the corner there’s an almost straight pipe that you jump on, grind, spin then flip, grind, spin then flip... then when you reach the end, charge your jump then spam the two different moves and that’s an easy 3k in 7ish seconds.

If you wanna do the pearl more efficiently , Begin to grind , when you jump just do a Space key trick then a right click trick before landing. You should hit 100x31 around 10sec , when you're at that instead of going out of the ring , just stop grinding for 1-2sec, the counter give you your 3k pts then you just need to hit ctrl to grind again. And if you don't know , you make K-drive xp by doing tricks too :)

I've been using it instead of archwing whenever I can. It's fun. My favorite grind spot is the main pipe behind the spawn. You turn around at each end with a max charge jump and get 3 or 4 tricks in each time.

The one pipe behind fortuna hope on it from ground do some trick combo and grind the pipe, you should start with 3 or 5 combo multeplier, then the rest of the pipe is jump grind jump grind jump grind and at end hop of and air trick gives from 2000-3000 and you can go back on the same pipe too

For a beginner (me, I just made it to jupiter) the k-drive is a great vehicle because I don't have an archwing launcher yet. And it seems the best place to get the materials for a launcher are the Plains and they feel HUGE on foot. A k-drive is a good way to traverse the Plains.

I absolutely love K-drives man! I have spent more time grinding my k-drive than grinding fortuna.

I've used my K-drive on the plains yesterday. Good for getting around quickly, but there's not much to grind on... except the downed trees in the valley south-east of Cetus. It would be nice to do stuff like fighting and fishing from our boards.

Useful tip : the standing you currently earned in your run = your bonus affinity (in orange) - your "normal" affinity (in blue) of your K-drive

I think that k drive is fun and it's helpful to me to rank up my standings and to get different parts of the k drive and then they have different mods for it. For me it's awesome 😊😊😊👍👍👍

A tip from my experience K-Drive grinding at The Pearl, keep grinding and press jump twice then right click and continue grinding until you get 130. That's the 3000 point combo cap. Sometimes If you stop after landing the combo It'll break and you'll lose the points. So what I then do is land after the combo gives me 3000 points and quickly jump right back on and grind which banks the points and restarts the grind over again.

What I did to grind and get aprox 3k per minute or more is using the large tube behind fortuna, while doing the grind small jump, then small jump and a roll so the multuplier can keep going up. When I reach the end make a charged jump to turn around and land in the same pipe, repeating the process till I get a multiplier of 25 more or less, at which time my score is around 120 and then making a fully charged jump out of the pipe so I dont crash with any rocks near them. That worked for me

Linking combos sounds nice, if not the smallest hit on an object or a sudden stop however would break my combo chains 90% of the time.

When you jump over the ledge on the ring, just do a spin with space and continue grinding is a simple way. Also you only need about 30x to reach 3000 points in one trick.

You only need to chain jump spin and grind on the fortuna pipe and do charged jump to turn around if u havent maxed combo in one direction.

To preform a ultra power grind. Hit Ctrl+Spacebar on landing on a rail whilst holding a nosegrab. It's hard. But see your score meter fill up insanly fast. Not sure if feature or bug though. Whilst turbo grinding u can release spacebar and press it down again to charge your next jump.

I just use the the long rail right behind fortuna as you can a jump and grind back and forth, i use the space and right click trick after each other to gain as much rep as possible until i get like x40.

I don't get it, I spent an hour at the pearl getting tons of 3000s and I went back to ventkids and I only gained like 1300 standing? Is there a daily cap for the ventkids too? I only had like 5000 to begin with that day.

In 2021 you do now earn standing with the races. It's also the best way to max out the rep you can gain per day.

this community is all about min maxing the grind, I just want to have fun skating around the map(even if arc wing lunchers are free).

I hope they eventually add some crazy tracks and massive rails and ramps.

FYI K-Drives work in PoE too. I've not seen a better spot to do this on the Plains but worth checking out.

The best spot I did was the longest pipe right behind the gate, you just spam spam spinning and once you get to the end you can charge jump and turn around to continue. Once your combo hits 3k just stop moving and you'll get the points, then just jump and start grinding again. I maxed out my daily rep (MR 25) in about 15 minutes

I was wondering, do we have to rank up each board on it's own like with Archwing or is it enough to level up a single board?

Help me! When i leave the rails on The Pearl, it first says i completed the trick, but then it just does the thing that says you failed it, even tho i dont go into anything, and should have completed it! What am i doing wrong!

I guess the Vent Kids put a new meaning to "Grinding for standing". Maybe they should have it so there is a soft cap on the score where after reaching 3000 the base and multiplier increase slows down quickly, but also have it so you get a bonus to consecutively grinding on new "rails" at a high enough rate that it mostly compensates for the soft cap if your quick enough and keep traversing new areas without repeats. That way you can chose to do quick grinds in a small area like the "black toilet" let's call it, or you could do a cross country grind tour for about the same. With that there could be a leader board in the vent kids area for "Max grinders" and one for "speed grinders" where the former is highest score and the latter is score/min which would require lots of quick tricks and avoid dead time.

so not sure if it;s a glitch or the devs done it on purpose, but certain trees in the plains make you go strait up if you crash into them with the k-drive, the best being the trees found in the lake, allowing you go get crazy air time. If you ragdoll, however, there is a high chance that you clip through the ground and can get infinite points

Unrelated to K-drive but does anyone have any tips on how to apply this color scheme to Gauss? I really like his taste in Warframe colors (the retro vaporwave vibe) and am having a hard time applying it to Gauss without making it awkward and forced

How did you customize the k drives colors?

I really feel like you should be able to use weps on them. like pull out your guns by default and then if you want to do tricks hold down f to go into the melee stance, but instead you just put your weapons away.

I perosnally like to do flips and try to grind on the surface of lakes when doing said flips on the plains and find crashing and getting atleasts 100 combo each time to be yes grindy but low effort.

Honestly the first pipe right next to Fortuna is the best, if you do the tricks correctly you can make 3k at the end of the pipe, the same can be done from the end to the beginnig of the pipe.

Idk why while grinding it will sometimes pop me out, idk if my ctrl is broken but it doesn't happen doing anything else, and sometimes when I hit the ground I lose all my points so... Ye, no k-drives for me e-e.

When I'm trying to slide on railings and stuff, it just stops sliding most of the time. I don't know why and it removes the combo counterand is really annoying. I got mods that mod to make it easier to slide but it seems buggy. Does anyone know why, or have a solution?

How do you stop enemies from spawning continously around the pearl because if i go around it and get gang banged by 20 some odd enemies again i'm going to blow my brains out

I don't know if it's just me but doing tricks on the pearl seems to have either broken or been fixed at this point, I can't seem to do any stunts unless I do a big jump and split off the rail, at which point I can properly flip and such. Or is it jus the base drive that does this?

I will do this as soon as my K-drive stops sucking ass. Works fine for everyone else but for me the trick controls are unresponsive and the camera bounces like crazy even on flat surfaces. Anyone have any clue why?
