Grendel has shot from a C-Tier frame to A-Tier frame. Fixing his energy problems, clunky Nourish sub-abilities, and annoying physics on his Meatball, we've also received massive buffs in general. His 2 now gives the buffs of all sub-abilities at once. It now also gives 100% viral base elemental buff instead of 50% toxin. It now also stuns enemies for 1s in AoE when Grendel gets hit, and shield gate lasts 1.3s. It also force procs 10 stacks viral in the AoE. His Regurgitate now also force procs Toxin, and also has AoE armor strip with scaling damage by enemy level sucked.
Also, remember, Nourish is his Helminth ability that all frames can use now. Also, remember he can cast abilities while in his Meatball now. Will he be able to cast Helminths while in the meatball too? Only time will tell when Lua's Prey releases in two days!

Grendel golden age let's go. I'm slightly sad about Nourish being Viral now because I had an extremely niche Grendel build that used Nourish to get gas clouds on a Hunt Dokrahm, but realistically a Viral imbue is an absolutely huge buff, so I'm only slightly sad.

Almost everything is great. Love the armor strip May actually use meatball mode Nourish isn't the clunky garbage it used to be Only apprehensive about his devour count being nerfed to hell. Didn't like it before when they put a cap on it

Man.. I really enjoyed swallowing the whole room with Grendel.. haven't used him since they dropped the rework. Just got his Prime though, so I'm gonna have to try him again. People kept screaming for a rework, but he was already really damn good and fun.. even with his Prime I never see him out in the wild, only hear people use his Subsume.

Archon Continuity is gonna be a beast on him. So far I'm running 201 power strength, 160 range, 155 duration and 100 efficiency. Got 1 Archon shard into energy effectiveness.

That viral nourish helminth options alone might make me farm him now and at worst, feed him to helminth if I still somehow dislike his playstyle after all that. But goddamn, what a rework. @@Psion_Phoenix He's also the one who reworked Saryn into the beast she is today. By comparison, pre-rework Saryn was borderline Hydroid levels of bad. Also Nezha, Ember, Titania (gradually), I believe Mesa, and a bunch of others. I won't say that Pablo doesn't make mistakes, but anything he touches will eventually turn to gold if not outright.

Although not very near to such level but for yareli, it is also an very impressive and significant increase in overall str and qol. That 1 dmg vulnerability with some cc is nuts tbh, as yareli finally have something that is viable for gun buffing shenanigans, it is literally 5 small nezha ring buddle on call, and it shall not be underestimated. Imagine yareli 3 augment with 1 dmg invulnerability, you hurl that glaive prime levels of blade with 0 (or 15) cost on merulina, on an enemy that has 100% dmg invulnerability which it will scale with str, double dip that shet to maximum with a max str rhino, and yareli could literally kill lvl cap demos with her infinite scaling 3 with augment, with quite possibly, just a few cast. 4 being one of the greatest grouping in existence now since in before it was pretty large in suck radius, (15m iirc) but cannot shoot anything towards it as on live version. it is literally that yareli 2+4 bug showcased here, made into a feature, as people seem to underlook how useful is this, and how this will contribute to the gun plays.

Room eating Grendel was very funny to me (the ennemy shotgun was ridiculous) and more importantly very refreshing in terms of gameplay. I feel like he will probably be more of a weapon frame now without the option of using his 1 as a grouping tool. Will it be strong and less spammy? Yes. Will i have as much fun with him? I hope so... At least our new dev seems to know how to specifically identify and target issues and that's great, good sign for the future

Nourish now casts all three buffs in one, so presumably Helminth Nourish is super buffed. Worst case, it's literally just a free viral damage mod to weapons, so it's still useful.

@@Meguminimal Corrosive Barrage only became bad because DE changed how Corrosive procs work. Before it was a complete strip. But then DE's rework to Hydroid while good in some ways was also very bad in others. He deserves a refresh to his kit, same with Frost & some buffs to Oberon.

Not the same thing, corrosive only does armor reduction. Full armor strip is possible only wiht abilities and shattering impact. And because its not the same, this change to corrosive also killed the usefulness of hydroid 1. Still his biggest problem is he has to be a fucking puddle just to survive that also very clumsily drowns enemies. Hope pablo gets similar op rework to him next. Buffing useless abilities won't make enough difference.

wait what, you can get 1.250 armor just from one ability? that would increase my armor to 2.5k, would that give me 100% damage reduction? edit: sadly its only 90% damage reduction :(

nope, armor calcs for % reduction go by x/(x+300) So 2500 armor becomes 2500/2800 for 89.3% damage reduction

@@goldenrevolver4460 fun fact: you can actually scale it up to around 99.9% dmg reduction with null star subsume and adaptation, if you really wish to do so, Thus making any additional armor crucial for this setup.

@@amolistic_ yes, which makes armor even more irrelevant. its more important that you have multiple multiplicative damage reductions, not how high they are. for 3 90% DRs it's 1-(0.1^3)=0.999, while for 3 85% DRs it's 1-(0.15^3)=0.9966. of course that's a big relative difference in EHP, but when you are that far into a run that 99.9% and 99.66% make a difference, then you should probably use active damage mitigation rather than passive damage mitigation

@@goldenrevolver4460 true but it is enough to keep yourself undead on base steel path, or 1-2 ish surv as most ppl tend to do, which armor will factor a lot, just like many ppl prefer nezha as he is enough for generic content, even though he still falls short on lvl cap runs as his 3 become extremely annoying to recast as it is more costly than iron skin gate, which make rhino just behind revenant in terms of survive in lvl cap missions reliably without invis or large range cc with shield gate, as they have complete dmg mitigation which makes any armor irrelevant for them, or rely on multistacking DR for funni memes. Armor only become irrelevant if you a lvl capper, for generic content, it is very powerful.

I wish they had thought to give feast something to do once you reach the cap. His main form of cc just sort of got turned into a glorified resource bar for his passive since its your going to be full most of the time. I'm actually less excited for nourish as a helminth ability. It doesnt have much value for abilities that dont have some sort of status chance on them than toxin would have been. Kinda killed my nourish garuda build if it doesnt proc. I do wonder if things like ice wave could proc viral now tho. Otherwise its value as a weapon buff is ok but you are going to need two builds for basically everything and thats the sort of swapping I only really dont get behind unless i am setting up for endurance runs. The meatball feels like it comes out of this rework worse than it did before since its main use was damaging large amounts of enemies in your stomach at once. Now its just a health regen buff that stops you from using your guns and degrades over time.... the new regurgitate is baller tho and makes a massive amount of viral damage worth it again at least on grendel. it still being castable during ballmode is also the only reason that ability didnt become dead in the water for me.

Honestly to me she’s much better the bubbles cc and give enemies a debuff (eximis units still get the debuff) allowing you to deal 2x damage at base this mixed with the aqua blade augment you’ll literally stun lock and rack up damage on enemies also the 4 now can group enemies like zephyr tornados which means crit AOE will also do good damage because her passive an merulina

The feast nerf alone completely ruins it for me, his regurgitate buff is going to have to be massive to make up for it, otherwise this is the most disappointed I’ve ever been with DE. Grendel is my favourite frame and my main and I’ve spent so long showing people he’s so, SO much stronger than the community perception, but it seems now the community perception may end up being more accurate. Also, Nourished Strike now being viral instead of Toxin will also reduce the damage of his abilities, unless they’ve changed how the damage boost interacts with abilities.

@@amolistic_ the damage boost as it is right now only buffs abilities with existing toxin damage, which benefits his other powers as they all deal toxin damage, so it’s a direct damage buff. Changing it to viral now means they do not receive this damage buff, UNLESS they changed it so now the damage buff applies regardless of what damage is already present in the ability. Obviously Viral is great for its own damage boost, but we have Nourished Armour, Viral Primers and Vulpaphylas for that already which all do it better. Pre update: toxin damage boost + viral stacks to boost damage Post update: Virals stacks to boost damage Less damage. I’d also say it’s weaker for weapon builds too now since you’ll have to build your weapons for toxin with viral from the ability now, whereas before it was build weapons for viral or use a viral primer (as you always do) and gain the toxin from the ability.

@@finleymorris04 still donno if the dmg is applied to his abilities or not but now the rework Grendel seems to be more about buffing and large area viral afflicting and armor strip oriented frame, for me. The shotgun memey nuke days are gone, I guess...So whether the new viral dmg is added into the ability or not is not that important now...(based on my opinion on what pablo show us, and my personal opinion) But yeah, we will wait and see.

My brother in Christ, did you see the clips? Pablo had like 170% strength and Grendel managed to completely delete an entire room in Steel Void with one cast of his spit, which is now his 4. It's just... disproportionately stronger than it was before with armor strip, so much so that it just doesn't need any buffs from the low value Nourished Strike anyway.

Extra Armor: Armor is soft Cap, so He wont Profit that much of it Armor Strip: every frame got one, His is Just Not as good as the others CC: cant hold a candle to His previous Kit Plus they took His scaling dmg. it was a Nerf at best

Able to eat 5 enemies only is definitely a nerf. Can' wait for no one plays it, then they have to rework him again.

It’s the biggest nerf in Warframe history. Unless there’s some stuff we can find out once it’s in our hands, this is a train wreck, gutting my main and favourite frame completely undeservedly.

@@finleymorris04 Look at ember, how many times they rework her, and how many players actually main her now? Just play other frame, and if those piss you off just play other games.

@@complimentbot7015 I watch the whole thing before posting comment, those armor is nothing, u get one shot in Steel path Mot in 1 hour with those so called reword abilities.
