The Tempestari quest voice acting is absolutely stuning, I was extremely hyped by the trailer song. But the quest itself is over in a span of a second and Vala is immediately gone from the warframe world untill we see the continuation of Parvos questline. Sevsgoth comes out of nowhere and we send it on their way a moment after we finaly get to see them. It all felt so rushed. the void is certainly an odd thing in the setting, it does fit nautical themes well too. very little is known about the void, Which makes it not unlike our oceans which we also do not know a lot about their deepest depths. We have more extensive and detailed exploration of the space we can reach than we do of the ocean floor on our own planet. The Orokin had complete mastery of real space in the Sol system, but had barely scratched the void. Perhaps that is why folks in the empire era who know are also terrified of the Tenno, Its not just their ability its they have looked into the void and it didnt drive them mad, Instead it offered them help. They can step in and out of its embrace at will, And honestly are not even fully human anymore partially infused with void energy. As one sees when in a no frame area and you "die" you float in the void for a moment and then are back. I theorize this is part of what caused the Drifter to happen in TNW, Tenno and their transference have an interesting tie to the void. Ballas gave us the stabby and then yeeted us into the void before the static had time to reset us and odds are that reset hit we were fully into the void giving spacetime a sort of "Kernel Panic" to use a linux term.

"Man on high, with the devil in his eye, and a golden hand, I'm told. It can hit you, it can hold you. He can kick you, or console you." This refers to Parvos. He is a man highly respected, but also feared. He judges people based on their ambitions and willingness to pursue ambition, regardless of the costs. And his judgement is harsh, as you might have already known from how he treats the Sisters or would-be Sisters ("You are to be split, little stone. I shall see whether your core is diamond… or dross."). Not to mention that he has a golden hand that "can hit you, it can hold you". And depending on how you prove yourself, "he can kick you, or console you"; either throw you away, or nurture your desire. "A man on high": a man at the top, to be praised. "With a devil in his eye": but this man is a dealer of Faustian bargains. He does not hide it. He has ulterior motives with you. "He can kick you, or console you.": Fail, and feel his wrath. Prove yourself, and be paid handsomely.

It is more an ancient mariners funeral, though. A viking mariner funeral would have been pretty much setting a course for the void, while scuttling the Tempestarii on a countdown, with Sevagoth aboard. The only time a viking ship would have been left intact, is if the ship was meant to hold something until it could be retrieved according to the orders of the deceased.

Capitalism isn't about 'Gaining more money no matter the cost' its basis is 'Open and free market' Corpus bigwigs are very close-minded so the very notion of the word open would make them vomit, they hate the thought of anything being free (they quite literally take your very flesh if you can't pay with money) and finally they don't want to run a farmer's market or some shit like that, they would prefer a mega store where only their products are available and prices increased a hundredfold Taking advantage of people's desperation and eliminating competition through active greed and maliciousness is not capitalism
@SocraTetris
@SocraTetris Жыл бұрын
Ah yes, and in our current Capitalism, none take advantage of desperation nor eliminate competition for profit's sake. No company tries to stop a union from forming. The coal industry doesn't block legitimate claims to black lung or lung cancer by limiting who can approve a diagnosis in certaun states. Slave masters never forcibly bred with their human chattle and gained more slaves through the act. Corporations can always be trusted to prioritize human welfare and fairness above getting higher and higher profits to report to investors each quarter. Corporations are your friends.

@@SocraTetris I hope we can keep this civil as I don't wish to make enemies when we can simply agree to disagree We live under 'Keynesian Economics' not 'Capitalism' Besides, I'm using the actual mindset of Capitalism, not what is imagined to be 1. Capitalism is trade “When goods do not cross borders, soldiers will.” -Frederic Bastiat 2. Capitalism is a competition “The great danger to the consumer is the monopoly - whether private or governmental. His most effective protection is free competition at home and free trade throughout the world. The consumer is protected from being exploited by one seller by the existence of another seller from whom he can buy and who is eager to sell to him.” -Milton Friedman 3. Capitalism is unselfish “If you wish to prosper, let your customer prosper.” -Frederic Bastiat We don't trade nowadays, we get swindled, we don't see or get competition, seeing as it's destroyed the second it appears, and we both know for a FACT all those bigwig Wall Street and Hollywood CEO's and execs are nothing but selfish lowlife scum that would sooner see the world burn than give up even a single dollar
@SocraTetris
@SocraTetris Жыл бұрын
I think the only distinction you are making is an ideal versus the reality. You can label the system "Keynesian Economics" but we use the word Capitalism to refer to our current system in which gaining capital is the only goal of a corporation, and a great many atrocities are done toward that end. Everything from crime to health is reducible to capital. A nation's economy is not defined by a philosophical school of thought but by what it actually does, incentives, and supports. When I say "Capitalism" I mean our current situation. To correct that with, "You should call it Keynesian Economics because my conceptualization of Capitalism is pure and good," then you are arguing a point entirely separate from what I am talking about, and that makes it kind of irrelevant to me. If you want to have a broader conversation in the realm of political realism where we explore the motivationsof wealth among the motivations of nations to engage in war or maintain power, versus still the motivations of social groups to define morality and relations among people, sure. Why not? Move directly to that point. Starting with a semantic, "That’s not a circle. This is a circle." Is not what I believe you were actually aiming for.
@RichtofenE115
@RichtofenE115 Жыл бұрын
@@SocraTetris I apologize if I came off that way, it wasn't what I had intended I did not realize you meant the current state of economics rather than capitalism as a whole I have simply seen way too many others forget or simply ignore what capitalism should be That being said, my main point of contention is when said people try to say that the current state of economics are the complete fault of capitalism simply because that is what we are told we use, and not the actual written definition I do agree with you on how modern 'capitalism' is terrible and at least in my opinion has been highjacked by bad actors I know I may sound like an idealist taking no consideration as to how said ideals will be made real, but even I know capitalism isn't perfect, nothing is after all, and we as a society must make an effort to keep said society happy and prosperous in all things

I don't believe the Corpus are capitalists for a second. They're far too corporatist by nature, as the name implies. What I was able to dig up makes me think they practice anticompetitive policies. I'd wager Ergo Glast is far more capitalist than anyone on the Corpus board of directors. Not only does he say 'a shared prosperity can bring a shared peace', but also Capitalism thrives best in a competitive market. The Corpus aren't above the use of slave labor which is counter to a capitalistic society, where competition is held though offered wages to entice potential workers into a position of employment.
@SocraTetris
@SocraTetris 6 ай бұрын
Dishonest arguement in defense of capitalism alarm!!* lol, slave labor counter to capitalism? You must be the type to think nothing under heaven is ever a critique of capitalism. I've been sent this argument before, and it's nonsense. The US economy was built on slavery, and was the last of the major world powers to outlaw it. We still have in our constitutional ammendments that imprisoned people/felons can be used for slave labor. You areaking a distinction without a difference. "Corpus" is an actual word that means body. a "corporation" is called that, because it is a "body" in a legal sense. "Capitalism" is called that because it is "the belief in capital." The presentation of corpus as an religious "-ism" is an obvious connection here. Corporation and Capital are not separate in a capitalist economy. A corporation is made explicity for the purpose of making money! lol, do you think Disney os a charity or something? "Capitalism" is not self-regulating of the internal operations and motivations of a company. Legislations and political power controlling the acts of corporations is the only thing that motivates a capitalist corporation from abusing labor, lying and deceiving customers, and from violating ethics to find another dollar. That competitive market can only be maintained through socialist legislation empowered to break up monopolies and criminalize illegals trusts. Ergo Glast talks a big game about not wanting to make weapons and trying to use capitalism to create equality... but the dude still sends murder robots after you if you help his competitors! One group of hypocrits like the Perrin Sequence does not prove this made up "Corporatism" distinction real or worthwhile as a point of debate.

I dont think the Golden Hand passage refers to Adam Smiths market hand. After the "man in the high" passage I took the golden hand one as an allusion to the christian God where in the bible its written that God is life but it is also fire and destruction. It all connects as the corpus way of life is a religion ans Parvos is their messiah or even God after his supposed death.

I think you are inverting the critique. Corpus uses religious fanaticism to critique devotion to capital even in the case in which is harms and lowers quality of life. It isn't using capitalism to critique how religion generally corrupts capital. That's just a very odd way to interpret this dynamic

So was your point about how the image was used in the story of warframe? Or nah? Cuz the idea of hoenthe story uses the image and how the corpus use the image are synonymous.
