Syam is not weak. In fact, it is actually kind of busted.
For a normal melee weapon, it is definitely not the best.
But this time, the gimmick is actually useful.

Syam is definitely worse than Nikana Prime as a normal melee. Nikana Prime is roughly 20-30% better as a normal light spam weapon. As a heavy melee, Nikana Prime outperforms Syam by 45%. Yes, the gap is that big. But what it doesn't tell you is how the gimmick of Syam works. It has 500 pure heat damage, and 1500, on the 2 waves it produces. If you want the original heavy force proc slash, you can do that by using a slide heavy. But the wave force procs impact, and is pure heat. Maybe that's why you thought it was bad, because it can't do slash, and corrosive doesn't work too well? The thing is, pure heat super high damage and status is perfect for unconventional builds. Syam is amazing for Gas, full strip Viral, and Heat Inherit Demolyst killing. Why? The wave has 1.0 follow through and loses no damage on enemies it hits in succession. It also travels over objects instead of through them. This is actually better, because it allows it to change elevation to snipe out remaining targets. It is particularly useful in climbing side pillars near stair cases to kill enemies. Gas DPS Syam has quadratic scaling, and if you ran Sickening Pulse, would be obnoxious. Viral Syam is just raw DPS, but requires armor strip. Heat Inherit Syam uses innate pure heat to save a mod slot for giga damage.

if you're doing an initial combo build DON'T USE AMALGAM ORGAN SHATTER. if you heavy attack twice it takes too long for the combo to regenerate and the second heavy doesn't get the combo multiplier. also, in my testing, the damage was not scaling up with pressure point/other +damage mods except for condition overload

I love Corufell, so I love Syam too. Honestly, a "wall-hack" shockwave on heavy attack of Syam that can "kill" any melee. Heat shockwave can become Gas shockwave, that sync well with any Grouping skill. I realized that gas cloud spawns per target so more targets more gas clouds. 5 gas clouds = 5x dmg of gas. Thank you for the informative video, my man! I found your channel is the top 3 best warframe channels now. Thought, idea, mechanic, purpose, proof, test, how to fix, pros & cons, extra information and cut to the chase,... that are all in one video.

In my experience Syam has been very good. The heavy wave scales up really nicely, and even as normal melee its good by default, by having such good stances.

just wanted to put this out there cuz it seems like nobody has noticed it yet but chroma can subsume nourish onto any of his abilities, and nourish applies like an elemental mod, which if you know chroma, means that his base damage bonus gets scaled up by it. but i didn't say anything.

No matter what I do the Syam projectiles always appear to fly straight upwards and I have no idea why. Edit: It attaches itself to the ceiling and straight over the enemies heads in the Kuva Fortress corridors, probably thinking that the ceiling is the floor or something idk.

Would the syam be good for endurance run acolytes? During Disruption I usually play an EV trinity so most enemies aren't an issue but whenever an acolyte spawns I feel like I do no damage to them. I generally use a heavy attack Quassus against them since I would think the slash procs would be enough but It doesn't seem to do that much damage. One thing I'm thinking of is a Vastilok to strip them but I don't really know how to build it. I do have a riven for the Vastilok though so I'll probably try to put together a build with it.

The issue with Quassus is most of its dps comes not from its damage, but the sheer amount of slash procs it deals. Acolytes are capped to 4 slash procs, and proccing another will remove the oldest proc. Vastilok has a fair amount of damage behind it. You’d just go viral build with shattering impact. True punishment can help you get to 12x combo quickly. Every shot will give 20 combo since True Punishment has 2x effect on gunblades. Armor will be stripped off as you build combo quickly, and you can easily dump a 12x shot into them after a few seconds. Attack speed is important. If you want it specifically to kill Acolytes, the Syam is worse than the Nikana Prime by a lot.

What max level did u try this? Quassu heavy attack can fk up most of all enemy types. Syam can destroy Acolyte faster when using normal attack. But let me test again with my Dual Attack Syam, that has high combo eff so we can do both normal and heavy attack. Heavy attack +Slide Syam will proc a big slash.

Yeah, Boltor Incarnon is straight up busted. I used it on the Telos myself for a more balanced weapon than trying to force crit chance on a mostly Status Boltor Prime.

Good pick, I have never actually built the prime so my telos will show up more frequently in circuit. I prefer the more consistent crit as well, statuses people use like viral and corrosive on the weapon have a set cap anyways so why try to go too hard on status. You will more than likely get at least one of each of the statuses on the weapon by 2 or 3 shots anyways which is all galvanized aptitude needs.

Im using it on Kullervo and Im in love with this one, my setup is: Nauilus for pull + verglas for prime Roar for raw damage, 1 for obvious cri buff Heavy attack = Dead If heavy attack =/= dead... Press Kullervo 3 on pull, if shit doesn't die then u better alt f4 coz you coming up agains god moded enemies

@@lil-trashcans-_- it didn't feel good, well i only tested each weapon once, the worst was the spear as its special was bad but the rest of it was good but the dual wield just felt bad! best to me is the club!

@@liamspruyt the club is the worst to me, on top of being more expensive than the others for literally no reason it's slow as all hell main reason why syam is the only one I like, it's the only one that's fast

@@lil-trashcans-_- you should really try the spear, in heavy attack its a spin attack and very effective and fast! the club might be slow but it often crits and those crits do oneshots or 2 shots. so i never have to hit a lot. also after 4000+ hours on the game and a bunch of farming i already have all 5 weapons :p the 10 extra wasn't that pricy!

@@liamspruyt I have all of them too, I just have a grudge against the extra 10 clamps bc I didn't know it was 60 till I went to buy it with 50, and I don't like heavy attack spam makes me feel like I'm gunna break my controller would much rather just use light attacks

for the second question no as seen in the video you both dont need aero vantage and the wave is only for grounded heavy

Tbh I find syam way better than the nikana prime, sure it doesn't proc as much slash, but what's the point if you aren't gonna be comfortable using the heavy attack? I find syam better cuz u can easily grab a bunch of enemies, reach 12x combo quickly them shoot one primer shot and one or two heavy attacks then boom, level 160 corrupted gunners dead

but I like sitting there and spamming nothing but F for Heavy Attacks and watching things go brr with no enhancements from my abilities etc side note still prefer my Zaw with Exodia Contagion but I also enjoy Sun and Moon more then my Syam as of late running around like a spinning blender of death.

From testing it out, at least the neutral combos of those 2 nikana stances have no perceivable difference in range

Tennokai allows light attack while routinely spamming heavy attacks. I would imagine that this will change a lot of weapon builds.

fun fact,Nikana prime is #3 best nikana ONLY cause of the base stats and ips distribution but as a simple weapon it does only that dmg, making it bad objectively in a game that's about crazy builds and synergy , sepfanh and Syam both have good stats and build defining unique characteristic making then both #1 and #2 interchangeably , hell even Skiajati is seems more usable and fun than Nikana prime, people need to understand that wf is not a game where you need to choose only 1 weapon and spam attack ,you're making a very tedious and repetitive game even more so by making yourself do only one thing for 2-3 hours straight, use abilities, change weapons, bring a pet, use specters ,we're all playing a pve game where there's no AI, just big dmg sponges, you don't need to be meta, you're not competing against anyone. make the game your own! rant over
