The phrasing is a bit off, but they did from the moment of the second dream, which happened at the end of the old war. The actual issue there is it wasn't Margullis who put them in the second dream it was Lotus. Though Margullis did try to fix their trauma.

They in fact forgot they where tenno from being in warframes for so long.

@@KingTaltia The Second Dream didn't begin at the end of the Old War. That's was the Long Dream, as Lotus described in Chains of Harrow. Second Dream is just an artistic way of saying transference. The Dream is when the Tenno sleep, floating in nothingness. When they use the pod based transference tech, it feels like waking up from that Dream, but they are in a Second Dream, in which they dream of being a Warframe.

Depends on how you look at it. I started playing back in 2014 and at that time there basically was no lore. The gameplay itself with all the grind was the meat and potatoes of the game. The focus on lore came later and that is when we started to see a shift in updates being more focused on the story.

I know that certain quests have always been locked behind level requirements / star chart progress, but the more time that goes on, new players will continually experience the need to conquer certain parts of the game before they are even near to The Second Dream, or Chains Of Harrow quest - if DE could initiate Coop Quests, this would help as it is annoying when you have to say to a friend, "okay, now you need to this part of the game alone" I understand this might be difficult due to the structure of some quests, especially The Second Dream, but like I said, it doesn't make it suck any less

@@ZFG__Gaming Oh my comment was just regarding the meat and potatoes part. I'll respond to the rest now. I definitely dislike the grind that the game is because there is no end goal to the grind. You grind to get better gear so you can grind faster. I doubt that they will ever move away from it though. Having requirements for quests makes sense to a degree. It might be enough to incentivize some players to spend money on platinum to skip certain things. You need to understand that Warframe is free to play, but the developers still need some ways to make money. Tennogen is one, Prime access is another, etc. From our perspective as gamers, any type of annoying barrier is well.... annoying, but from the company's perspective these barriers need to exist otherwise nobody would spend real money. I know this because I worked for a game development company that also makes free to play games. And trust me, Warframes' barriers are really good compared to the barriers I worked on such as adding advertisements in-game to provide "free loot".

@@Voidstroyer I do agree with you...They do seem to give more than others - giving you an opening Balance of 50 plat' is a good start. Plus daily login rewards, not to mention the ability to grind and then trade items for the premium currency. Admittedly, I didn't consider the options of buying frames / skins so yes, there is definitely some needed balance. I have personally only bought plat' once, and have otherwise just traded for plat'

@@ZFG__Gaming the fact that Warframe only has one premium currency, combined with the fact that this currency can be obtained simply by playing the game is what sets their free to play model apart from others. I bought platinum a few times using the 75% discount simply because I moved to China and basically lost the ability to play together with others because Chinese internet sucks. Otherwise I never would have spent real money on the game.

I doubt there's any option of 'joining' him as opposed to serving him, that thing's not looking for allies, rather proxies for its sick game.

I agree with you on the points you make. Also have to add that my wife, who loves well-written stories and games with lore, absolutely despises Warframe lore and story because it is so poorly thought out and written, overall, that she only plays Warframe for the gameplay. She also hates being forced to solo much of the story quests nowadays because she despises the writing so much.

To me warframe story/lore feels like hopscotch more than baby steps. Going in a direction but with a bit too much info scattered in different squares making it feel disconnected at a lot of points. It's actually one of the biggest complaints I hear from people, that I've talked to, about getting into warframe. They don't know what's going on or where to go after just a couple of the main story quests. So they just quit and would play destiny 2 or back when it existed, anthem.

Nice headcannon. The man in the Wall did not "kill off" all other versions of us except us and the drifter. Consider Quantum Theory (or as DE calls it Eternalism), there is the thing that not all of our versions survived being given Void powers, hence we see multiple of Us dying or passing out, that is what that represents. Why would the man in the wall even give us power if he is going to intentionally kill off almost all other versions of us? Also why stop there, if he can eradicate all other versions of us, why not end us as well if the point is less resistance? If we are that big of a threat to require multiversal genocide, why not just end all versions of us? Also there is no evidence that the Parents made a deal with the man in the wall, and that is very likely the cause of them loosing their minds. There have been descriptions of people loosing their minds due to void exposure, people that were not even the Zariman Crew. It is logical to assume that having visions of other Yous can drive a person mad, and considering how bizarre the Void is, some form of possession could take place. The parents are very likely to have been "possessed" by another version of themselves, maybe the Military version of them, one that was trained to hunt and kill on sight. That makes sense to me given the information we have, but them making a deal and being replaced by replicas, albeit not being impossible, is a pretty far fetched take that is not backed by preexisting lore so i cannot get behind it. There is nothing suggesting that The man in the Wall can even possess people full time. Why do i think that? Well if he could possess, why let the Lotus drive him back? He could just hop in her and let himself exit the Void with ease. He appears to us looking like us, but not by possessing us, or at least his adversary does. There is nothing concretely stating that our lookalike is The Man In the Wall himself either, so it might be a version of us that he managed to recruit, but not possess. The Duviri Paradox, if the trailer is anything to go by, shows us entering a Void Jump as Operator, and ending up in Duviri in Drifter Form. It looks like an accident, so there is definitely no plan behind it made by the Operator/Drifter, given the surprised look on the Drifter's face. the Duviri trailer shows the Operator becoming a Drifter, you can deduce that by him trying to use void power by instinct, something that the Drifter we know would not do, since he knows the place and the fact that there he has no powers. So Duviri Paradox is probably us being sucked in Duviri by the Man In The Wall, possibly with the idea of trying to recruit us. Or at least that is what i would say if i had to make up a theory about a vague part of the lore. Please don't confuse people by delivering your theory in a format that makes it look like facts, because it is not. The bare minimum would be to say "I think" or "I assume" to imply it is Your interpretation. I got no bone to pick with you, however i cannot ignore a theory not backed by facts and actual lore delivered as such. You touch on grey unexplored areas of the lore, and i applaud you for trying to tie the pieces together, but try adhering to the existing facts without making up powers and events is my advice.
