Were ranking every faction in 40k from bad to best! warhammer 40k is home to a whole HEAP of ludacrisly OP factions. but how powerful are they actually? and how do they stack up against everyone else? are the Tyranids the ultimate creations? are the space marines as OP as games workshop would have us believe? Or are the Orks actually "DA BEST"? lets dive in and find out!
And a side note. alot of these factions are actually allys with each other, and some are vastly larger than others. so ive done a bit of grouping to get the list to a solid 20 entrys. if I was to list literally EVERY astra militarumregiment, we would be here all day.

I actually chuckled at the Space Wolves being one of the few chapters that knows about the Grey Knights. Good nod to the “Months of Shame” and a funny thought that the Space Wolves prob do drunken boasts about the time they kicked Inquisition-ass.

Im still relatively new to the MASSIVE amount of lore that is 40k. And it was through your tiktoks I learned of 40k Doomguy, and with the advent of the upcoming X-Com: 40k game- Im def leaning toward the GK's. Even after they have been tarnished bc of how the Inquisition used them against the Space Wolves.

Looks like a lot of obscure, relatively good Aeldari factions are getting merged into the main codex(Harlequins and Ynnari are the big ones,) so hopefully we'll see more Exodites thrown in, since it won't require having to come up with entirely new rulesets. This'll also be a good way to expand the Ynnari storyline without having to wait on new books, since it seems GW is abandoning that book series for a while. Good video, as usual. Seems like the longer KZfaq-style format is giving you a chance to do more detailed content, and it's all been great.

Hell even if it was just an exodite kill team with maybe a raptor or 2 fighting along side them. That would seriously make my day. And ya I am really enjoying the longer ones. Still new to editing them tho so I've got a lot of room to improve

@@weshammer Yeah, I'd be happy with even just a small run to add flavor to the roster. Hopefully streamlining the ruleset a bit to add more flexibility, and dropping some cool new models will make the Eldar more appealing to new players. Spess Mahreens are cool as shit and move units, so they're the poster boys for a reason, but I'm hoping GW starts at least throwing in a few updated or new models for less popular factions inbetween big SM releases.

@@weshammer I was surprised to see the Harlequins so low on your list. From other lore that I have seen, they basically have top tier God Like warriors that I can’t remember the name of right of at the moment, but basically have the ability to merc anybody they choose and are believed to be the key to the defeating slanesh.

@@weshammer I hate to break it to you but the whole Genestealers on holy terra being a suprise isnt really a suprise. Their are untold thousands of genestealer cults and chaos cults as well as lost xenos forces stranded in the underhives of Holy terra. So much that the Imperium only ever goes down to cleanse them when they become too much of a problem to ignore. Thing is the Sol system is heavily defended that I doubt the combined might of every single living hive fleet in the galaxy currently would be enough to take Terra. It would take astronomical numbers. Dozens of Astartes chapters, Trillions of Imperial guard, Hundreds of thousands of Adepta Sororitas and the full might of the 10,000 Custodes. This combined with the fact that no doubt the mere instance a alien or chaos fleet entered the sol system all of the Imperium would bee line for Terra is one of the reasonns why strangely enough on terra of all places the Imperium seems shall we say more lenient about the existence of heretics and xenos. In terms of presence. Plus the forces of the Mechanicus and let me tell you this. Whatever they have on the webstore cannot compare to the secrets they have on mars Cough cough void dragon cough cough

Just go for the necrons as the end all and you're good. You can't really beat the race that can literally enslave literal god's to their will. I'm saying this before watching the video mind you but I'd be surprised if there was another contender.

I've only been watching your videos for a few days now, but you are rapidly becoming one of my favorite people to learn lore from, and just favorite youtubers in general. I do love the shorts and the medium videos you piece together from the tik-tok stuff, but, like many other folks are saying here, your long form pieces are where your charisma and knowledge really shine through. Keep making whatever you want to, I trust your judgement. But if you're ever wondering if you're being too long winded and feel like cutting things short, know that some of us out here want and will enjoy as many thoughts and goofy asides as your brain is capable of putting out there. A couple of notes on the Drukhari: They do only live in one city, but the city is actually millions of sub-realms stiched together with the Dark Eldar's tech (in my opinion they are the faction with the highest average level of tech and the good stuff literally contains black holes and re-makes spacetime). If the city is invaded, they can separate sub-realms and leave the invaders stranded across the galaxy, sometimes leaving light-years of realspace between them. They have done so in the past. Also, it has been alluded to in every codex I have my hands on that the Drukhari army is far far larger than anyone lets on. I wouldn't put it past Vect to have the regional archons on a leash with a minimum force kept in commoragh in case of Slaanesh invasion or even just to hide their numbers. Finally, in terms of battle the DE have tactics that are not seen anywhere else except the Harlequins and Ynnari. They will strike, and the inevitable counter always finds themselves attacking either a foe that has long left, or walking right into an ambush. It is largely this fact that I think that a full-size Drukhari army, while unprecedented and never-before-tried, would be a terrifying force.

10:54 Ironically, this could fit every single faction in the game VS the Imperium. If the orcs ever become smart enough to all join together, the Imperium is screwed. If the Necrons all unify with a purpose, the Imperium is screwed. Same for Chaos, same for the Eldar, and in a twisted way, same for the Tau. If the Imperium ever decides the Tau are becoming too much of a nuisance and actually band together a large enough force, than they too will die. Same reason the Imperium was so powerful during the great crusade. It wasn't the primarchs, or the more numerous space marine legions, it was the unified Imperium under the rule of the Emperor that made it so powerful. If Guilliman can actually unify the Imperium, and get everything rolling again, there is a good chance they can just start rolling all the other factions. At least until the ACTUAL Fleets of the Tyrranids show up. Ultimately, the only reason any faction hasn't won against everyone else in Warhammer, is because of the internal strife of that faction, in once sense or another.

Imperium is the most unified faction(barring Tyranids) in the universe. That unity is the only thing thats keeping them alive, should they fracture they're screwed.

The Imperium is pretty unified. Course you still have internal struggles & disputes which is to be expected in such an massive empire but what's truly holding them back is the fact they are constantly besieged by ALL the other major factions to the extent that they can't possible respond to every incursion or attack since their domain is massive.

Your shorts are awesome please make more, and your videos are great for WH40k lore. I always saw the figures and wanted to get into the board games, but man, talk about expensive toys. Some of the stuff even put japanese gundam models to shame in the gothic price tag they command, and i heard its addictive in collecting.

I just started out in Warhammer 40k and the faction I picked to start out with are Sisters of Battle, cause when my friend told me about them he just casually said oh they are nuns with guns and my mind went to my childhood where our teachers (Who were nuns) but now they are holding guns and I was like SOB Im in. Painting them now as I listen to their lore videos and loving the faction even more so.

Love the list, and the fact that you added the exodite in it. They really, really deserve at least a little exposure somewhere, cause come on, what's cooler than dinosaurs!!! Though I have to say I personally think the Harlequins should be a little higher. They have access to the Black Library, an incredible amount of foresight and the means to pluck away at the strings of the galaxy in nearly every way possible. More importantly, they've got the support and blessing of an actual, fully intact Eldar god. And Eldar gods were quite possibly the powerful beings in the galaxy after the Old ones the C'tans themselves, with them being more powerful than even the Chaos gods before the fall of the Aeldari. And this shows, as Harlequins are significantly stronger, faster, more agile and capable of far more unexplainably insane feats than other eldars (a race knows for their unexplainably insane feats). And one final detail is that they possess what is the most powerful mortal warriors in all of the galaxy- the Solitaires. A solitaire is stronger and more skilled than even a Custodes, or a greater demon of Chaos. The Harlequins Kiss (as well as the Harlequins caress for that matter) are the iconic weapons of these warriors and they are fucking awesome!... In like, a terrifying, gruesome way, that is.
