This looks like a solid RTS entry that focuses on the combat side and less on base management. Which honestly, I'm fine with.

Problem seems to be that even combat wise it's really basic with the rock/sissors/paper and auto fight in melee system. Seems just a "good" game but the 60€ seems overpriced, especially since they are already selling two heroes for 15€ as DLC.

@@DemonicInfinityafter playing multiplayer I can say it’s not shallow. The auto fight in melee allows for some interesting plays on trying to force your enemies ranged units into melee combat so they can’t kite you etc

@@sethael1741did you try out the full game? I have thousands of hours in dow and dow2. I think your characterisation of ‘no base building’ isn’t that accurate, there is base building, it’s just very different from normal RTS

Age of Sigmar looks like a cool settings for a game. Looking forward to it.I like the concept of the world just being consumed by Chaos and you have to cleanse it completely.

I bought the early access version as I'm a huge fan of anything Warhammer, and I've had a blast with the single player campaign alone! Most missions I found to be really fun, giving me like nostalgia for Dawn of War 2 but also mixed with Warcraft 3 (probably because of the sick cinematics and fantasy setting). 11 hours of just playing the campaign, feel like I already got my money.

Conquest mode sounds fun to keep the game going if you don't like PVP. Map making looks good too.

The problem with conquest is that all missions have the same objective. There is no varierity and there is no army progression either. So you are essentially just playing the ordinary 1v1 bot matches one after another.

@@zlarez4485 I think the game is really good, but I agree with Conquest mode; its a little barebones. The map editor is great, and already I played some neat maps from players.

Thanks so much for the overview. It's confounding to me that none of the game's trailers nor media shows what the game really is; it's all cinematic shots and panning to showcase the graphics instead of the gameplay. I have to go to a review or a guide like this one to finally see what type of RTS it really is. This is very much like Dawn of War 2. which I liked and played alot of the campaign but I love Dawn of War 1 more and played the shit of the conquest campaign. I might buy this, but maybe during a sale.

Might be weird but the most interesting thing for me was the mini customising. I've always been too lazy/too little time to do that IRL. The actual RTS part looks fine but nothing I haven't seen before.

I usually don't play rts cuz it goes so fast and there's usually a lot of micromanagement. Does this game allow you to slow down or pause the real time, letting you queue up orders or commands, etc?

No, sorry to say that it's all real-time. You can lower the difficulty to have an easy time of playing tho.

I bought expecting Dawn of war 1 style rts. Was dissapointed when I couldnt build the bases and defenses im accostumed to. But the 3 or 4 mission brought me in with the tactics. Currently on mission 5. I am loving it now.

I saw that Frontier was listed as the developer/publisher for this on the Xbox Store and was legitimately taken aback. I was like, "Frontier!?! The Planet Coaster Tycoon, LostWinds, Planet Zoo, Elite Dangerous, and Wallace & Gromit in Project Zoo studio?!" I guess when you look at just _how many genres_ they've excelled at in the past, this shouldn't be surprising that they could also pump out a nice RTS too, but it's still a bit of an unexpected thing to see to me. They're low-key a very good studio.

This looks very much like Dawn of war2 : squad tactics more than strategy, a style more accessible than "traditional" RTS. If this game finds success maybe we can hope to get games in the style of the 1st one later

Shadowrun: Trilogy, Showgunners, Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children, Colony Ship, Gamedec, Seven: The Days Long Gone, Satellite Reign, Invisible, Inc. and also The Ascent, Ruiner though they're very lite on RPG elements and are mostly shooters.

This video has a 96.4% likes/dislikes ratio, so I'm not sure what you're referring too. As for it being controversial, not really, some people don't like the Age of Sigmar setting but thats about it.

If this were Old World Fantasy or Warhammer 40K I would have already bought it. If this were 15$ cheaper I would be hovering my mouse over it in indecision on steam. If it were 25$ cheaper I would have it now. However, it is 60$ U.S. and I will NEVER stop being angry about the Bull Shit that was the end times and Age of Sigmar.
