Warn pullzall 1000 lb portable winch initial review and testing till the smoke comes out!

This is a 110 volt warn pulzall being put through the paces dragging a very heavy stuck trencher. The rental place said the trencher weighs around 2,000 lbs. The warn got the job done but did not seem very happy about it. Stay tuned for more projects.
UPDATE: click the card in the beginning of the video for a later pull. The Warn is still pulling even after getting a little smoky on me.

Gotta admit. I was loosing my mind until you brought the pulley out. It was a good demonstration on what the winch can and can't do on its own though. Would love to see a comparison of its capabilities with a few well placed pulleys.

It was its first real workout, I wanted to try it without doubling. I’ve used it fir multiple jobs around the house. It’s handy, but it does require some 110 power to run it under load.

Good thing it held… if it took off rolling it looked like one of the kids was playing behind it. Cool tool though. I like it 👍🏼

I am going to buy one of these with the battery , if we use the 1 minute /2 minute and rest period that is recommended I don,t see an issue , people do not understand the duty cycle . Picture a 120 pound guy arm wrestling 200 pound guys , better rest in between . you may win one . be patient

The duty cycle for the pullzall is 1 min of use and 30 mins of rest. It’s so slow in that 1 min it would only wind in 10 Ft. It’s not practical. Although it is a useful tool, it’s been replaced by a 12 volt winch with a wireless remote.

@@drewdoestrucks The one minute run time and thirty minute rest is based on full load use , I run an ATV/UTV repair business and I need a way to pull dead machines into my shop . Even the bigger sxs roll fairly easily in reality but I work alone . A couple of guys can do the job but I can't wait for someone to come along. It should save me a lot of rigging and hand winching,

@@keithbennett1359 I replaced the line with about 40 ft of synthetic rope. The cable it comes with is cheap and short. I’m buying a 110 volt winch for my shop.

Was it smoking towards the end?

Yes it let some smoke out but is still functioning. The trencher was heavier than I'd anticipated.

I really want a battery powered one but I feel like they are too expensive. This corded one is very handy around the house.

Why would you try and pull a 2000lb piece of machinery up a ramp with a 1000lb rated winch? And that is a snatch block you hooked up not a shackle

Because it’s what I had and I wanted to test it out. Besides, a winch that can lift 1000 lbs straight up should drag 2000 lbs. I had no idea what the trencher weighed at the time. I got the weight from them when I dropped it back off. I made this a while ago, but I believe I said “harbor freight pulley and a shackle” if you listen carefully. Thanks for the comment.

The trencher is hydraulically driven so even without the wheels chocked, it doesn’t freewheel. It will very slowly creep as the hydraulic motor tries to spin against the stationary fluid in the system, but that’s about it. My tractor is the same way. Chock just used as a double safety. The fact that the trencher wouldn’t freewheel was what made this such a difficult pull.
