You can see how unhappy Elizabeth was during this interview,breaks my heart ,her eyes had such sadness ,she admitted years later how unhappy she was ,no wonder she gained all that weight ,she felt lost and without a purpose during her marriage ,makes me so sad to see her like this,i love her so much ,glad she turned her life around many years later and got her happiness and joy back

Genuinely the saddest I’ve ever seen Elizabeth, she looks so lost and her eyes are just lifeless. I just want to give her a big hug.

Elizabeth looks like she had a nervous brakedown three days ago.

Her husband seemed so upset when she answered the question for him. She was actually saying very nice things about him he should have been grateful. If he wanted an obedient trophy wife Elizabeth was not it she has a voice and opinion besides being beautiful.

She was a servant in this marriage, invisible as a person. Trophy wife backfire who let herself go out of lack of self respect. Who would marry for this superficial roleplay. It was a good lesson for her. She was sexually abused by her father and needed to experience this to deeply understand how many men view women on this planet. The experience gave her clarity and strength. She had an innocent heart and was idealistic. Perfect target. She was brought into Hollywood as a child, schooled there, and knew nothing else but to be told what to do. She became amazingly strong and confident and earned her way through a very challenging life.

So sad to see her so sad 😭

I wonder how long it took Elizabeth to realize she’d made a terrible mistake. I’m guessing she knew immediately but wanted to be married to an “important” man, feeling it was essential to her identity and survival, which is bewildering considering she was more successful by age 25 than any of the men she married. Painful to watch her misery here.

Poor Elizabeth. I don't see any love from Warner. She sounds very very tired. Elizabeth should never have married him and she knows it. She was his trophy wife and him a politician. But she did have a fascinating life and her love for Richard was a true love. When you see them looking at one another..so much love.

The saddest Liz I ever saw , sure made John look like a really bad husband , if you want to know how a husband treats his wife, it shows in her face and wardrobe

he's unbelievably boring. Elizabeth learned that she didn't need a "man" or any man to be happy. none of us do. it really says everything about her that she came out of this marriage & went on to have a productive happy life. sorry, Liz, no matter how good a person looks on paper, if you don't love them you can't force yourself to love them especially when you love someone else & have had to step back & let them drink themselves to death bc you can't stop them. it's very sad. it happened to me. it's hard

Very good exposition of John Warner's political propositions, great!. Elizabeth Taylor is very good and very inteligent, in her role as Mrs Warner, Impeccable!!!. Thank you for this historical interview.

Its almost unwatchable. Her energy is so very weak. She is virtually dying inside from allowing her Self to become invisible and exist under someone else's autonomy and choices. Live and learn and she did. She had such a deep sympathetic heart. Her father abused her, her first husband Hilton an alcoholic abused her, Todd she said taught her love and must have planted a seed of self realization, the singer Eddie Fisher had his eye on her long before Todd's death and took advantage of her during her deep grief, Richard was a rampant alcoholic and abused her, and on and on. She was strong to move through all that and come out of the deep seated allowing of self harm and societally ingrained female indoctrination of her generation with self love and well-being before all else in the last years of her life.

He could not be pulling himself further away from Elizabeth. He leaves her sitting there all by herself. This is no way to treat Elizabeth Taylor.

Elizabeth may look dowdy like a housewife here... but once her makeup is put on ...her hair blown out and her designer gowns put on ...then at last the jewels added... WOW! ...she is the most beautiful woman you’ll ever see in life... by far the most beautiful women in the room... elizabeth also really knew how to carry herself as a women. You have to be born with that.

Very sad Elizabeth after Richard, she accepted and allowed her weight gain, her frumpy clothes, her housewife status, her modest home and her working husband but after a while, she COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE and once again became slim, exciting and mysterious Elizabeth Taylor, bye Mr. Warner! John Warner resembled a sober Richard deep voice and all.

John Warner was such a complete bore... elizabeth must have been drawn to him because he was a senator... cause he was a cold boreing man.... he couldn’t have been very good or that good in bed... he’s a typical male sexist type man. ... you can tell he was brought up raised old fashioned about how women should keep their place... Elizabeth must have been very depressed or desperate to marry him... she was far more accomplished in life then he ever became! He just died recently in 2021.
