IPL is into its 17th season and has seen numerous players turn up for different franchises. Some players turned out to be only one-season wonders. The likes of MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik, who played in the inaugural IPL season, are still active and key to their respective sides. The talent IPL has unearthed is enormous. It has honed some of the superstars of world cricket. In this IPL special series ‘IPLchi Ratne Pt 2’, we look at three stellar players who made their name in the IPL before shining on the international stage. David Warner made his IPL debut after playing his first international game, but was signed by then Delhi Daredevils as an uncapped dashing opener. 'The Bull' as he is fondly called, is one of the most popular cricketers in India for his shenanigans both on-field and off the field. They say that one of Matheesha Pathirana's video was seen by MS Dhoni and he invited the Sri Lankan pacer to CSK nets before signing him as an injury replacement. २०२४मध्ये IPLचा १७वा हंगाम सुरु आहे. IPLने काही खेळाडू असे पहिले कि ज्यांचा प्रभाव केवळ एखाद-दोन हंगाम होता तर महेंद्र सिंह धोनी, विराट कोहली, रोहित शर्मा, दिनेश कार्तिक सारखे काही खेळाडू असे आहेत जे पहिल्या हंगामापासून आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट आणि IPLमध्ये खेळत आहेत. IPLने केवळ भारतीय क्रिकेटच नव्हे तर जागतिक क्रिकेटला देखील एका वेगळ्या उंचीवर नेऊन ठेवलं. काही युवा आणि उभरत्या खेळाडूंची कारकीर्द IPLने घडवली. IPLची रत्ने ह्या IPL विशेष मालिकेच्या दुसऱ्या भागात आपण असे तीन खेळाडू बघणार आहोत ज्यांनी IPLमध्ये आपलं नाणं खणखणीत वाजवलं आणि त्यानंतर आपल्या देशासाठीही तेढीच चमकदार कामगिरी केली. डेव्हिड वॉर्नरने ऑस्ट्रेलियासाठी सर्वकाही जिंकलं आहे पण २००९मध्ये त्याला त्याकाळच्या दिल्ली डेअरडेविल्सने आपल्या संघात घेतलं जेव्हा त्याने आंतरराष्ट्रीय पदार्पण देखील केलं नव्हतं. मथीशा पथीराणाचा कुठला तरी एक व्हिडिओ महेंद्र सिंह धोनीने बघितला आणि त्याला पहिले नेट्समध्ये गोलंदाज म्हणून बोलावलं आणि नंतर संघात जागा दिली. वरुण चक्रवर्तीला TNPL मध्ये रवी अश्विन आणि दिनेश कार्तिकने बघितलं आणि आपल्या IPL संघात घेण्यासाठी जंग पछाडलं. हे सगळे खेळाडू IPL मध्ये खेळले आणि नावारुपास आले. मालिकेचा दुसरा भाग सादर करत आहेत मुक्त पत्रकार ऋजुता लुकतुके आणि आदित्य जोशी... _______________________________________________________
