Babyface's production on this song is absolutely insane. It's bananas. It's clean. It's sharp. Your ears are constantly bombarded with different stimuli. There is always a new sound, a different rhythm or sequence in both speakers. It is a symphony of masterfully layered musical action. It's genius and brilliant.

No one sells their soul these myths and rumors are pure lies to keep you guessing. Karyn White was not a victim of the New Jack Swing sound. The reason for the lackluster support came from her A&R, as well as legal management. She is not considered underrated at the least. She has a slew of top ten hits and nominations. You guys throw the term underrated around for clicks and likes as well as views. When truth be told you have no clue to the meaning of the term , nor whom it really does imply too.

I miss 1988 terribly!!!!!!!!!!!!! Summer of '88 had some AWESOME songs!! This song has a good beat. It was definitely a product of it's time. I'm not sure why the New Jack Swing thing didn't last longer. I also like that it has similar percussion to "Every Little Step" and "Dial my heart". Maybe they used the same kind of machine.

One of my favorite 80s, of those lesser known, try Magic Carpet Ride by Bardeaux Another lesser known one from 1986, had a New Wave sound, you'd think it was '82. Try "Holiday" by Other Ones. Or whirly girl by OXO.

Damn, i just listened to this for a few times and decided to go look up the date this song/video came out, because i thought i remembered it coming out right when school(4th grade) first started back for me in and around August 88, then i decided to go and and check and it was released today August 15, 1988, 35 years ago today. 8/15/23 12:36 am. zava34 I think you have a misguided sense of what beautiful (Black-Afro) hair is...your statistical calculations on percentages (1%) of Black women having the same texture hair as Karyn White is ridiculous...your definition of beautiful Black Afro hair is European based...no offense, but if you believe that...you have been brainwashed. Black women's hair comes in an endless variety of textures, biracial or not! Some have been conditioned to believe that fine hair on women of color is what is beautiful, as you say "more desirable" ...that is false...trust me, I know. One is not better than the other.
