So far my 2018 STX 2.7L has held up very well. I plan to keep this truck for as long as I can make it last. While I have heard of folks having transmission issues with the 10 speed I have been blessed so far. If my memory is correct, my milage is in the low 90K's.

That's awesome! I've got a buddy with a 2020 with 200k miles. I think there are batches of trucks that skipped this craziness. I hope you get a million miles without issues! Good to hear from you and thanks for watching!

I'm so glad i held on to my 2001 lariat 5.4 f50. It has 331000 and has never left me stranded. I had a accident and it was totalled out i bought it back and fixed the slight damage. It still runs great. I was thinking of buying a new one glad i didn't.

The “swooshing” sound you speak of on your F150, are you sure it’s the transmission? I see you have the 2.7 Ecoboost and you might just be hearing the sound of the turbos moving air as the boost increases since you mention it happening while pulling a grade. If this is the case the sound you hear is completely normal.

Its not my turbos. I'm on my third ecoboost truck and none of them made this sound. I'm going to try to capture the sound. I've had a 2.7, 3.5, and my current truck is a 23 -3.5. Thanks for the response.

An ordinary pickup truck doesn't need a 10 speed transmission. 3 speeds did fine for decades, then the 4 speed "overdrive". Automakers are completely out to lunch. And just to clear things up, GMC-Chevy and Ford transmissions are made by the same company.

Correct the big two sucking it up right now in the transmission world… GM was struggling with the 6-speed also, surprisingly ford didn't have a ton of speed issues.

The CDF drum issue is way more widespread than people know. It’s very disappointing Ford didn’t fix until 2023+, and isn’t supporting the older trucks which are failing constantly. These are fantastic units once that one issue is fixed and the bushing doesn’t walk.

What is the swishing sound I keep hearing on my 23? I typically hear it when I’m going up a little incline and its in the higher gears.

my work we got a 2022 F-350 with the 10 speed with 60,000 miles with zero issues practically a trailer on it it's whole life about 16000 pounds probably around my only complaint is the exhaust break on the 10-speed is absolutely horrible I almost could never get the exhaust brake to work properly on its own without using the manual shifter best way to describe it it's very weak and very faint compared to the 6-speed it's a night and day difference between the two besides that it tows amazing

Interesting note on the exhaust breaking. There is no telling what change ford made to the engine to comply with the ridiculous diesel rules. That may possibly be a factor. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.

@@jeanclaude7018 I wonder if they would have offered more tech if they could have rung in more support. It seems like the couple of titan/armadas I saw seemed a little dated tech-wise…. Its really sad they are dropping the titan though. I guess I could have bought another Nissan truck…

@@theoverdriveconsumerchanne4424 I'm the last to know if tech is outdated, so I'd be the perfect Titan buyer . My 1987 Hardbody has NONE, except for what is in the new Sony deck I just put in ,and even that has more connectivity than I will use. Oh, and the stock Hitachi EFI system! What I really want is just to turn the key and have reliability year after year. I've gotten very simple in my old age. Liked the honest video. Keep up the good work.

If i had enough money and was dumb enough to buy a new truck from any manufacturer, id immediately switch to Amsoil trans fluid as a preventative measure

Amsoil may be doing research to see what is the cause. Meanwhile, my Nissan manual is 37 years old. No work on it whatsoever except a refill with Amsoil gear oil.

@@theoverdriveconsumerchanne4424 All my vehicles to this day have been 3 pedals, except one F-150 with a C-6 that I actually rebuilt myself out of necessity of being broke and in college. I'd never try that on a modern automatic! My Peterbilt was set up with 10 x 4 twin stick, and I had a gear for every occasion and beyond. I just like manuals because I keep things a long time. Almost 30 years on the same Nissan truck. Not very American behavior, but it works for me.

@@cigarsgunsandgasoline8032To be fair the toyota 3.4 liter v6 is a brand new motor for them. As with any manufacturer. There will likely be quirks that will have to be worked out overtime. Toyota has always took the time over the years to perfect their engines. I would expect that they will continue to do so. One of the biggest challenges for all automakers today. Is to try and keep u with the constant epa regulations the US government keeps upping. That's why we have 10speed transmissions, turbo 4 and 6cyl engines in trucks. That's why we have these tunes that really kill the performance of our vehicles. That's why we have all of these plastic parts to save weight on vehicles these days. You can blame the government for alot of the bs we have to deal with. @cigarsgunsandgasoline8032
