Not a firing pin or a guiding rod, it is the recoil spring and assembly. You may not have had retaining pin seated in position after you have cleaned the rifle.

it is a guiding rod. it is a small roller pin sheared on that rod. that pin limit the rod's position. NIOA already bought back the rifle and their gunsmith had the same conclusion.

I’d say it’s from you pulling it apart and not putting it back together properly. Then blaming the gun for your mistakes

I realised this rod was a guiding rod instead of firing pin. but still very dangerious

I have never owned a Savage, looks like I never will. Decades ago I heard them described as Savage by name, Savagely built. Seems nothing has changed. Buy a CZ mate.

I sent it back NIOA and requested a return for refund. The rifle is on the way to NIOA. There was a bloke on facebook .22 group suffered the same issue and NIOA repaired for him. But for me I would not want it back as it was too scary to use again.

Have a look at the CZ 515 when they come out in august they look to be far superior build quality to the crappy savage.

The Savage A22 has many safety issues. Bad safety bad lock on magazine. CABBELAS IS DUMPING THEM AT $50 OFF. I don't like the magazines. They are plastic version ruger mags. I do not think Savage knows how to design a semi-auto. Bolt B22 might be ok.

yeah nah there's a reason why savage has a really shit reputation in America lol, I'd say to get as much money out of the rifle as you can , try transferring it to a dealer to try and salvage some money back and invest in the new CZ515 tactical

I just sent that shit rifle back to NIOA see what they can do. I am requesting a refund as it was too scary to use again. it was safety problem..........I would not buy savage at all in a normal day. I bought this A22R only to have a taste of semi auto flavor..... really junk stuff

No idea is CZ515 will be good or not. CZ is bit dodge recently. you saw my video of that 455 CARBON..... some dodgy designs purly for the cosmetic purpose...

兄弟劝你一句，别买美国佬的量产货，都是傻大笨粗型的哈哈。我觉得bolt gun就买欧洲的那些牌子像anschutz 这些，我的猎枪是sako 85 270, 比我在枪店里试的所有的非定制美国牌子强太多。美国22lr好的就是vudoo， center fire的action, 像lone peak, defiance也都不错。半自动AR类型里面最好的就是Radian

价格太高的东西我不考虑，我喜欢高性价比的。 CZ一般就很好，HOWA，tikka也很好。桉树支的膛对子弹的要求非常高，便宜子弹经常卡，只能用高精度的子弹，我不考虑。sako 85很不错，但是太贵，vudoo完全宰人的价格。defiance定制action非常优秀，但是太贵。
