I Built another Jet Go-kart just to see what the Top Speed of the single Engine Jet-powered Go-kart is.
In the previous jet go-kart video I did everything except for a top-speed run, so here it is, I thought it was kind of weak because I was expecting a lot more but the wind resistance is much stronger than You think it would be.
I am editing this video after a Brain injury I sustained recently, so I'm not seeing things exactly the same way I used to right now, I hope this video is edited well lol.
let me know what you think and wish me luck on posting more videos! these are pretty difficult sometimes.

I was wondering about the top speed when i watched that original vid. Tbh i thought it would be a bit faster, i was able to get to 41mph on my own jet kart with a smaller engine and it was still accelerating, but i got sketched out.
@WarpedPerception
@WarpedPerception 8 ай бұрын
Yeah I think I remember that, I also thought it would have been much faster like over 80 mph. But it was definitely on the balance point and the wind resistance was definitely doing its thing. I think with some more aerodynamics it would have probably done 70 or 75, but honestly if I want to go faster I'll just put more engines hahaha.

I saw a guy who was trying to break the world speed record with a RC car having to do a bunch of things similar to what would hold back the speed from air drag That dudes problem was tires, it’s prob a combination of road type and tires 40 mph with a jet engine is pretty sketchy, idk how the dude did 60 mph in one, I bet a pothole or bump is a nightmare

I haven’t found a single video on the Internet that shows the output side of a turbo when it’s being run by exhaust of an engine. Some would make a video just of that, for you, its just a 5 second time lapse shot (which is cool too). I can appreciate the time it takes to make custom stuff like that. Let alone the one off cnc parts, anodizing, building/programming electronics, etc.. Happy i found this channel. You could probably make a separate channel just for 'behind the scenes' from leftover footage that gets cut/glossed over during a project like this.

That was crazy cool !! If you added aerodynamics of any sort, I'm sure you could increase the top end, but not by much. - improve the aerodynamics with some covers over the frame and the bottom - side skirts for groundeffect - add 2 vertical parallel fins behind (each) jet engine that are controlled via cables and the steering for giving you vector-thrust in tighter turns; if you have oversteer and you need to counter-steer the vector-thrust can help you to get the rear of the go-cart back on track 😉 *Nice project!!!* 😃👍

Amazing engineering effort indeed! However, for comparison - a standard 125cc racing kart (such as Vortex Rok) gets up to 60 in 5 seconds and tops out - depending on gear ratio at around 80 mph. And oh boy, it can turn! So if someone proposes competition - stay away :) Also, your tires might actually be wet weather tires, as for a dry track karts use slicks only. Bridgestone slicks will certainly provide a lot of grip - and they don't wear too fast. I used to race karts professionally and I love this jet kart - awesome job man!

Wow reading about your injury is a big deal, wishing you and your family a healthy and positive recovery.

Thanks, it was insanely painful for almost 2 weeks straight, I can't explain how intense and unbearable the pain was non-stop continuous. But I actually made it and I'm currently recovering, all I can tell you is a brain injury is no joke, it's really hard for me to explain how you pretty much have no control over what your brain is doing.

@@WarpedPerception I'm really sad to hear you had to deal with that and it's effecting you so heavily. If you can find the will to turn it into a positive experience and grow from it, I'm rooting for that. Hang in there brother.
