In this video, I'm warping my Ashford rigid heddle loom and I’m starting the weaving of a lovely baby boy blanket. This blanket is made out of Lion Brand's yarn that is so soft, my hands can't stop touching it. #rigidheddle #weaving #loom

THE PATTERN
I have created a blog post about the weaving of this project where I provide all the details about the pattern for free. Here's the link: curly-n-yarny.com/weaving-the...
THE YARN
For this project, I'm using Lion Brand's yarn from their "Feel like Butta" collection. The yarn is actually made of 100% Polyester and it's super easy to wash! I used 4 different colors:
-2 balls of Ice 106AE (Light Green)
-1 ball of Dusty Blue 108A (Blue)
-1 ball of Lemon 158A (Yellow)
-1 ball of Pale Grey 149 (Light grey)
Note that each ball contains 218 yards (199m) of yarn.
If you wish to get the same yarn, you could do so directly on the Lion Brand’s website. Here’s the link: shrsl.com/43dqh
MY LOOM
In the video, you can see my Ashford rigid heddle loom. Its width is 32" (80cm) and I love it! If you are in the US and looking for the same loom, The Woolery has it! Here's their website: woolery.com/ashford-rigid-hed...

During the video, I talk about another project where I did houndstooth and explained the technic more in details. This project was about dishtowels, but the idea is the same. Also, this project was broken down into 2 videos. Here are the links:

Why not use a warping reel? Was it due to the small size of the blanket? Also whats the advantage of your rigid heddle in this case?

That's exactly it! When warping for short projects on my rigid heddle loom, I find it goes way faster when I do the direct warping method. There are many advantages to rigid heddle looms. In that case, my loom came with a 7.5 heddle which is what I needed for this yarn. I don't have such reed with my floor looms. Also, the rigid heddle is very easy and fast to warp.

That's a really good question! When I film myself while weaving, it always takes much more time than it normally should. My guess would be that if I wasn't filming, I could have easily woven it all over the course of one weekend. I hope this helps 😊
