@@phoenix6890 He still lost to big boards in the other games he played. Bellowing Flames was great, but loses effectiveness in the late game. That's fine for a three/five mana card but that means the deck is fully reliant on Brawl to clear late game boards. Trial by Fire is supposed to be the deck's other late game board clear but we see it match up incredibly poorly against late-game boards.

@@bclxprss I agree, but I was only talking about the mage game. The video clearly shows the deck failing against other decks. I just think he had a pretty decent matchup into the spellpower mage deck if his draws and plays weren't the literal lowest percentile win % odds.

31:56 drawing was correct. By burning cards every turn you're immune to curses and the oponent was allready out attrioned and could only win by curses. Used this strategy to beat curse lock and they can atleast hold their curses and not get them burned.

I think the biggest problem is the exclusion if the riff package. The 1 mana help early aggresion nd is a 1 mana gain 4 attack late. The 3 mana helps you get odyn as it pulls only minions also its nice on the mintaur. And the 5 mana is just nice rush removal plus taunt in the way. Also for extra boardwipe bladestorm may be potentally worth running. Rn its just missing removal cards.

During its resurgence in Sunken City, Control Warrior was heavily reliant on Frozen Buckler into Shield Shatter to wipe out early game boards. Brawl and Kodohide Drumkit come online on Turn 5, which might be too late against swarm decks. They also don't have a good light AoE without Rancor. Sunfury Champion and Jam Session are much better in Enrage Warrior, and Bladestorm isn't good enough anymore. Maybe Bellowing Flames is enough to bridge the gap to the mid-game, but you need to have it by Turn 2 so that it can be Forged.

I would add it’s possible Trump’s initial ideas for Control Warrior might simply need tinkering in order to be effective, but I also think more players need to do testing to determine how fast/slow the meta will play on release. As you said, if enough decks are able to out-pace Warrior, their new control tools will lose a lot of value because it’s simply too slow to be impactful in too many different matchups.

This deck really needed Black Rock and Roll as well as maybe Lothramar. You can then finish things off with a 10/10 rush, gain 10 armor and hit face

I dont think the control tools are there yet for this deck to be good. The riff package might help, but it might be hard to get the finale off consistently with so many expensive and situational cards in the deck. We'll see.

I'm going to be experimenting with the archetype no matter what. I feel like it needs more of an OTK angle with Dredge and Finley, and might just need a chunk of the Enrage package for handbuffs on Remornia. My hype isn't dead yet!

Maybe? I’m not sold, however. In a Renathal deck, it’s possible you might not draw it and if you’re running a 30-card control deck, it’s likely you are going to be playing a lot of spells like Brawl, thus reducing the value of Blackrock n’ Roll because it’s hitting less minions. You’re probably going to want to play it on turn five, but it’s still a 5-cost, do-nothing-that-turn play and while that *can* be fine for control decks, I’m wondering if it might be too slow even for this meta. To be clear: I could be entirely wrong and I’m simply speculating/tossing out ideas. It could be great in Control Warrior, but maybe in a more board-centric/minion-centric deck. Testing is definitely needed.

@@TheTouristArrives I think Blackrock n’ Roll is simply superior to Odin, its fun seeing how many people were saying Odin will be broken but last expansions "Weak" card being better then it. Opinion? (I'm basing my opinion of Odin solely by this video)

@@DinantZ I mean black rock n rolls problem was you couldn't reliably draw it. That was fixed. This 8 mana do nothing card in a deck that does nothing doesn't seem like a solid game plan. It's a card that has a nice effect but it isn't game winning by itself unlike mograine for example.

@@ruukinen Yep, kinda like the way trump rated defile back then and got joked on, back then he was mostly correct, but next expansion onwards, it got good. Honestly I even see the ability of blackrock... as better than Odin. It lets you do the hydra thing that attacks 3 things for 18.

@@DinantZ I've been playing a lot of blood dk control and from my experience doubling the stats of your minions has a higher win percentage than Morgraine. So yeah black rock and roll is a lot better than Odin, especially now that you can tutor for it.

It seems to me that even if odin effect is the most broken among all titan's ones, other classes r just better than warrior, a lot of nonsense combo, giant minion with an insanely low amount of mana, crazy card draw everywhere O_O. DH and DK r OP as fuck

@shazam1205 Trump's list doesn't have the 1/3 Quilboar, or Shield Slam, or Bash, or the Riffs (one of which gains armor). Also the 8 mana 5/8 which gains armor. I guess Trump's list is just missing a lot of armor gain cards. Those seem important.

Thanks for a great video, was really fun as always. Trump always delivers comedic gold! I think there is hope for control warrior. The deck needs a lot of refinement, and getting tech after the meta settles. Steamcleaner would have helped a lot, and more direct removal for Titans as well. Not having cards in hand mean nothing these days, when you can get a single card that gives you so much. And more board clears are needed, since everyone vomits a full threatening board out of thin air nowadays. Or you have to do the same, with rush!

Its a fairly honest card and extremely easy to play around. I'd much rather every control deck has an Astalor instead of Sylvanus like in classic, where she was played for nearly 5 years straight.

@@rajkanishu Its like Zilliax was in Boomsday. Its strong, sure, but its not really unfair and doesnt single handedly win games. 14 damage is really not that much if you have any board. Also you see it coming when they play the 2 Mana and can try to disrupt, it doesnt come down in a single turn out of nowhere....And there is no Brann shenanigans. Only Shaman could double the bc with Bolner but they dont because that deck is just not good anymore.

Controll warrior is back guys! First game: Overeducated mage. I will crush this mage. Loses. Sure controll loses to combo. Second game: Relic DH. DH has nothing on this deck. DH ends game with 15/15 relic summons. Third game: Aggro hunter. Aggro has no chance against this deck. Loses by turn 8. Fourth game: Plague DK. I have already run the simulation in my head, my inevitability is better. DK wins on full health. Yeah controll warrior is back. At the bottom.

Watcher of the Sun is useless for control warrior. A random holy spell is meh on average for warrior, and you have to pay 2 extra mana to heal, which warriors don't really want they rather have armor.

It's a relic of thinking like physical card games. You have to show the opponent that you are indeed allowed to shuffle the card back in and draw a new one. Hearthstone doesn't really need that since the game engine is the arbiter.

Most of the decks he played against were unfavorable matchups for control (except the Hunter, where he just got tempo'd out hard). Perhaps an indication that it's not a good meta for control. Odyn is a good win condition but compared to infinite plagues from Death Knight, gigantic scaling spirits from Demon Hunter, and 0 mana deal 30 from Mage, he just doesn't match up. Unless you're gaining enormous chunks of armor at once and just killing the opponent, which Trump never did. I feel like he needs taunt or something, because he's so expensive but also doesn't protect you, so you can only really play him if you're ahead.

He usually says talks about how he can’t make the adjustments he wants because they require a certain number of cards from the new expansion during these early access events. Go back through the last few expansions and im sure you’ll find him saying it
